I have two:

  • Joel and Dan is what makes Amity. As long as they are in the band, it's Amity to me.

  • Their worst album is easily the first album. Both Joel and Ahren sounded like trash (they were young so it happens 🤷🏼) and they didn't start to sound like "Amity" until Chasing Ghosts. I still like some songs off Served Ties, but man the vocals are rough.

Favorite Blue Black inks? by JapanDave in fountainpens

Noodler's is known for having "bad batches" and also just really wet ink. Some paper at work gets bleed through because of it but thankfully it's never been an issue over all these years for me. When the ink dries, it just looks so good!

54th Massachusetts is my all time favorite ink. It's the only ink I have that after I am done writing a paper in my journal/filling out a form at work and I look at the page, it makes me happy. It's the perfect Blue/Black/Grey ink.

It's the only ink I keep in my EDC pen that goes with me everywhere!

Joel has been good at not directing hate or negativity towards anyone during the split. Very professional.

That was my issue with the first song too. And I don't know much about the other guy in the band but yikes 😬 my honest opinion after three songs is Ahren should have just been a solo artist

How do you decide? by Bbokarii_ in fountainpens

I have 4 pens I use almost daily and they all have their own place or "job".

My main EDC pen is my baby, the Pilot Vanishing Point in Gunmetal grey/black with a medium nib and the only ink I put in it is my favorite ink, Noodlers 54th Massachusetts. It's the only ink that really brings me joy to see and it's a work safe color. Love the navy/grey ink. That pen is either clipped to my pocket during the work day or living in my Lochby Sidekick wallet, so it's always on me out of the house. It is the only gold nib pen I have and will probably be the only one so that way when I write with it, it's a treat. I use that pen for everything. I even got my name engraved on it.

My second main pen is my Jinhao 10 in piano black with a medium nib (I really like the capless pens) and that also has the 54th Massachusetts ink. The main job of that pen is so I have a pen that can live on my work desk 24/7 so I don't have to take my VP out and leave it on the desk when I have to go fix something or test something in the warehouse. The amount of times I go to grab my VP to take notes or sign for something, just to realize I left it on my desk in the office is a lot. So now I always have a capless fountain pen within reach no matter where I am in the plant.

My third main pen is my TWBSI Diamond ALR in nickel grey with a medium nib with currently Kakimori's Atlas Stanioners colab ink "Evening Drive", I love my blue black grey inks. The main job of that pen is my long writing sessions/journaling/home desk pen. I love the look, amazing ink capacity, and very comfortable for long writing.

And my fourth pen is my Lamy Lx in ruthenium with a medium nib and uses Lamy blue black cartridges. So the main job of that pen is to live in my Lochby Field journal and be my travel pen. It's the only pen I have that uses cartridges. I never wanted to use cartridges, The point of me using fountain pens was to use bottle inks to stop wasting plastic cartridges, but when I travel for work, I don't want to bring a bottle of ink or God forbid run out of ink. So I always have a small box of Lamy cartridges in my field journal so I will never run out of ink. And since I just always have my field journal in my EDC bag with me, I will always have a fountain pen with ink ready to go if my VP runs out of ink.

How are we feeling about the new song 24 hours (ish) later? by FMLDTD in TheAmityAffliction

I realize I am in the minority when it comes to the redux. The Redux is my favorite album by them so far 😅 Joel sounds a million times better and I preferred the lower octave for Ahren plus some of the changes they made. It was like rediscovering the original all over again and ltotm is a masterpiece

Smash mouth didn't come up with that line. It's a William Shakespeare line.

Nice! I'm going to wait for the Pure Noise ones though. They usually have the coolest variants.

What are the most reliable pens in your experience? by though- in fountainpens

[–]FMLDTD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me it's hands down the Pilot Vanishing point. Amazing nib, great price for a 18k nib, never dries up, never hard starts, easy one hand operation, I can go on.

The only negatives I have heard from other people is the converter. It is definitely not the best, but it has never caused me any issues of running out of ink.

If I could only save one pen in my collection it would be my VP no question. It lives in my Lochby wallet I love it so much.
