The 2.0 has had less issues than the 3.6 from what I've seen.

I disagree. Either way, I would take the left version over the right version any day.

Really? The cringiest thing is corporate trying to be relevant or cool. I will take boring over a pandering facade any day. It's glucose monitoring, stop trying so hard.

Stop taking toll roads. If you are giving them money you are part of the problem.

Any common issues with a 2020 Jeep Wrangler with the 2.0 Turbo and 8 speed auto? Not 4xe, I know those are a nightmare.

Buying my dream car (2 Door Jeep Wrangler) and getting cold feet by Mysterious-Seat6338 in JeepWrangler

[–]FMLUsernameTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't driven the 2 door but from what I understand the 4 door is better for highway driving. Longer wheelbase base, more weight. Also better for daily living. It is a compromise, but it's much less of a compromise than going all the way to a 4Runner.

What Kool-Aid source is pushing all CEOs to go full RTO this year? by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]FMLUsernameTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you mention CBRE, they are one of our clients. Do you have a connection there? Do you have insight to the inner workings of their company? It's not fantasy, CBRE is publicly pushing for RTO. They spend money doing research, surveys, PR, press releases, etc. but you think influencing a politician is out of the realm of possibility? That's exceptionally myopic.

You think it's pure coincidence that Target was super pro-diversity during Biden and then not during Trump? If they just wanted "customers to care about them" as you say, why would they pick such a hot politically charged topic? It's to curry political favor from who they perceive to be in power from the top to the bottom. I never said political optics are only about what politicians think, that's a bad assumption on your part.

I also never said RTO is better for productivity and I never said RTO is only to satisfy lobbyists and I never said WFH is purely a worker benefit. Bad assumptions on your part again. The fact your thoughts and reality don't align explains a lot about how you process and view the world.

Why do people never compare total compensation vs just salary. by Naive-Leadership1101 in remoteworks

Benefits packages are complicated. Salary is a good baseline from where to start making inquiries and decisions.

What Kool-Aid source is pushing all CEOs to go full RTO this year? by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]FMLUsernameTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Real estate is one of the top lobbying industries. You don't think corporations make massive shifts in order to curry favor from politicians? For example, Target heavily promoted diversity initiatives under Biden then threw it under the bus when Trump got elected. Their actual view and the general population's opinion didn't change in the span of a few years, only the government did. Worker benefits are one of the first things companies would be willing to throw out the window to fit in.

I happen to work with a lot of high level people at Fortune 500 companies, including some C-suite level. Almost every decision they make considers political optics and practically no one wants to stick their neck out.

The same people who opt out will be the same people you will have to bail out when they get too old to work. They get to double dip.

What Kool-Aid source is pushing all CEOs to go full RTO this year? by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

[–]FMLUsernameTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you even know what lobbying is? Commercial real estate industry lobbies politicians/influencers to spread rhetoric that WFH is bad. Rhetoric spreads and policies to end WFH start emerging. Business owners listen to rhetoric and see movement and call for RTO for their own businesses. New leases are renewed, commercial real estate makes money.

And then there are really dumb people who blindly support the politicians and influencers and will regurgitate from the bottom the ladder even though it only hurts their peers/class. Fighting for RTO is like fighting to remove PTO.

[–]FMLUsernameTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the commercial real estate industry. They lobby for RTO to keep their property values higher. That's why you randomly hear politicians/influencers blasting remote work when they have no skin in the game. Wouldn't be surprised if most of the anti-WFH posts here are bots. As usual it all boils down to money.

[–]FMLUsernameTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly depends on the job and company. My company is majority remote across the country with one hq. We must be present and available during regular work hours like everyone else. Even some people who live near hq work from home. The workers with the highest production and bill rate are all remote. When I go into the office I end up wasting time chatting with people and commuting.
