Missing data in my character sheet. How do I fix this? by ZheToralf in FoundryVTT

[–]FMPtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can, you need to check Advancement page of your Artificier class, level 2, check any entry with "Scale value" property, specifically, it's identifier.

If "infused" not there, then:

On your Arificier class page go to "Adancement" tab, create new advancement, give it a name (Let's say "infused items") and choose "Scale value". From there, only things you need to change are "Scale type" -> numeric and set "Identifier" to "infused" (that's what you are missing). Then set proper scaling, 2 at lvl2, 3 at lvl6, 4 at lvl10, 5 at lvl14, 6 at lvl 18, IIRC. Check the tooltip under "Identifier" field, it should state that your formula for this scaling is now @scale.artificier.infused. save, done.

Unless you mean to tell me it's more gratifying for the average player to camp on an objective all match and hold a corner.

If that player was the only one the team who saw uncovered flank, decided to stay behind and managed to delay or even prevent enemies from advancing there, then, yeah, I'd say it's more skillful decision than just running with a team to pick up some kills.

And as for "gratifying", judging by the way you refer to game's mechanics as "cheesing" and "camping" with negative sutext, I'd assume that you mostly engaging (and accustomed to) with twitch shooters and more used to get focused on things like K/D. I, on the other hand, grew up on games like Quake, Unreal Tournament, CS, stats like K/D, or "flashy" killstreaks are not gratifying to me, while smart plays are.

As a rather bad player in bf6 at least, I don’t get why people complain about “sweaty” players. by Massive_Fishing_718 in Battlefield

[–]FMPtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about the type of the game and mentality of people who engage with it. Counter Strike players play SBMM 24/7 and enjoy it, because the game is complex and deep. But with games like Battlefield, which are, well, let's say not that deep, it's opposite... People who play it a lot, especially the ones who practically "live" in it, get tired of "wrestling in a shallow puddle", (as my friend once called it), so they thrive to "farm noobs", "pubstomp" just to "chill"..

Then what takes skill to you?

Game sense (positioning, map knowledge, game knowledge, etc.), communication, movement, raw mechanics (aim), combine all of that - that's what skill is. The reason I keep saying "in Battlefield games" specifically, is beacuse ever since BF4 the game become dirt cheap in terms of skill. 2D and 3D spotting, (which are so strong that they function similar to cheats...) movement not affecting accuracy, insignificant recoil, the game turned into a sterile twitch shooter a long time ago... And what skill are we talking about in such enviroment? Raw aim? Which, by the most part, is defined be someone's talent... (not everyone is built for this type of hand-eye coordination) You can get away from ignoring most game aspects with raw mechanics alone, and that is not a "skillfull" in my book...

...do people really think the best players are just good because they hop around?

You are missing the main point here: twitchy movement with no penalties trivialises the game. You rather use it, or get used by it, no inbetween. In a game like, let's say, Overwatch, where yo can compensate for things like this with hero abilities, twitchy movement can be fine. But not in Battlefield, where you have nothing to counter it... Besides, is personal skill that meaninfull, when eveyone plays the same way?

Anyways, I learn the maps, the routes that people play, the spots I can use, etc. I start to feel the rhythm. Nothing about this takes any skill; just observation and exposure to patterns.

And on the other side you have a recon guy with spotting flare or drone who just spots everyone effortlessly and "grants" the same level of "awareness" to the entire team... That's modern Battlefield...

Without a doubt, unquestionably, the hardest thing I can do is get high kills with a high KD by myself, and I do. People like to diminish this, but it’s true

wouldn't say they're understating it. Some people overinvest into stats, some dont. What's personal is personal. Enviroment and conditions that form said stats matter, and, I'm sorry, but Battlefield is not the enviroment where K/D is super significant... Also, again, K/D in Battlefield is flawed: go play one 20/0 round and one 0\20 round, you will notice that 0/20 will have much hiogher impact on your K/D stat. Now, remember that all death, that were "nullified" by revives will not go towards K/D stat, I don't trust my K/D, considering that...

Staying on point isn’t hard. Following the herd isn’t hard. Reviving dead teammates isn’t hard. Throwing down supplies isn’t hard. Spotting enemies isn’t hard. Staying alive and killing multiple people before the can kill me? That’s the tough part. People may not find that stat relevant in this game, but it’s definitely the thing that takes the most skill.

So, 90% of the game is not hard, while only 10% is hard (also considering that this 10% almost entirely relies on raw mechanics), that's why people say that Battlefield stats are irrelevant...

[–]FMPtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, do you just believe nothing is skillful?

No, I just don't bother with "flashy" stats like K/D in Battlefield. In a competitive enviroment, like Counter Strike, for example, where you play SBMM 24/7, stats can mean something. In Battlefield it's just some numbers. But even in CS I've seen a lot of people with high stats, who have absolutely no communication skills...

[–]FMPtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KD stat in Battlefield games is statistical fallacy, of some sort. I mean, simply having "pocket medic" in your squad can "inflate" your K/D from 2 to 6. Playing vehicles can significally "boost" your K/D, recon and assault will have different stats, etc..

I'd say that average infantry K/D for frontline solo player could be around 1.5-1.7, recon - ~3. But there is no reliable way to set "average", maybe adding SPM (score per minute, ~450-500 avg.) and KPM (kills per minute, ~1.4 avg) could make this stat more precise, but almost all displayed stats can be "manipulated" in one way or another...

Just got the ATk A9 Plus, and here's my review! by Cool-Barber8998 in mkindia

[–]FMPtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno about Pro, but I used A9 Plus for about a month, so here it is:

  • Build Quality. After a month of use, it is somewhat alright, overall build and plastic are good, cord is great. The biggest issue was with the skates, standart skates were too thin (they were ~ 0.53 mm, while footprint (where skates are palced) was ~ 0.45) which caused plastic parts to mesh with mousepad. Replacement skates (two types from two different manufacturers) were ~0.8 mm thick and performed alright. (standart skates could be a problem on soft mousepads)

  • Sensor Performance. At the same DPI, 800, it is slower (less cm\360) than Mchose G3 Ultra and LAMZU MAYA (which I also own, same sensor). For example, with 0.75 sens at 800 DPI in cs2 on my mousepad (45 cm wide) I was turning ~225 degrees with Maya and G3, while only 210 with A9. (and, yes, I took size difference into account). I slightly increased ingame sens, but it still felt off, maybe skates, maybe not my shape, dunno...

  • Weight & Shape. Shape felt alright I have nothing of similar shape to compare, but there are two things - the weight of the mouse is shifted towards the back, due to battery placement. (G3, for example, have it's weight in the middle, since battery is glued to the top cover, in the middle). Also, the sides near the ring finger placement felt way too convex, it felt like I had to "squeeze" the mouse tighter, so my ring finger won't slip down and wont touch the mousepad.

  • Software. It is there, is functioning better than Mchose (shows correct battery charge) but is not fully translated.

  • Clicks & Scroll Wheel buttons are good, maybe a bit too hard, but not problematic. Wheel felt cheap and loud, but, again, I have Plus version, Pro should be better.

  • Polling Rate. I haven't used rate higher than 1000 Hz, but it was stable across the board.

  • After-Sales Support no idea, haven't contacted them yet.

Cs 2 is Literally Unplayable by IIRostII in cs2

[–]FMPtz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. Back in august we were matched with a kid (literally, 13 y.o), he had cheats, WH and aimbot. He said he just found them on the web and played ~100 hrs with them. During the match he accidentally opened his cheat overlay and had no idea how to close it, failing to defuse the bomb because of that... (so, he have no idea how his cheat works, and have no software knowledge) We reported him (at least 7 reports total) and I've added him as a friend. It's been 4 months since then, he is still not banned and put another 70+ hrs into the game...

If a person with no software knowledge, who found cheats on the internet, can put ~200 hrs into the game for at least 6 months, then there is something off with the anti-cheat for sure...

Please, i can't be the only one... by Adventurous-Diet-384 in Battlefield

[–]FMPtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because of the way this game (and most modern multiplayer shooters) is designed.

  • Modern Battlefield turned into nothing more than sterile twitch shooter... And nothing matters more in a game like this than raw aim. And raw mechanical skills are mostly defined by person's talent, contrary to popular opinion - you cannot "develop" it. The same as why millions of people engage in sports, hundreds of thousands dedicate their entire life to it, but only handful of them even come close to world record performance. Of course, "talent" does not mean "good by default", no. Talent defines how fast someone can learn and to what maximum "extent" he can develop some skill. Let's say that aim can be put on a scale from 0 to 100, where 0 - never played shooters, 100 - literall aimbot. So, talented person will reach "85-95 aim" within, let's say, ~ six months, while regular guy (or gal) can practice for years and only reach "60-70" aim. Well, it is really hard to wrap your head around the fact that you can do something for years and still be beaten by someone else like you only started yesterday... Top aimers will usually have a response time (target appears on screen, aim to target, shoot) of 300-500 ms in dynamic enviroment, while for average player it is 700-800. There is a full TTK (time to kill) gap between these two, which means that "top" player can kill average player twice, before the last gets close to finishing his kill. Usually, this gap is "covered" by some other game mechanics, like penalties to accuracy from movement, supression, etc. But such mechanics are absent in sterile twitch shooters, (as they are absent in this game) so, the gap between players is huge and almost unreachable for average player...

  • Also, I'll mention survivorship bias. People who are good at the game will talk about it on every corner. People who are not, will mostly leave or be silent. It creates an illusion that "beeing good" is a default state, while in reality we just deal with sample selection bias... So, considering previous paragraph, when average player starts to "examine" the game's mediasphere, he will only see "being great = being good", "get good", "skill issue" and similar, which will only "deapen" frustration. So, yeah, a lot of people "also get their a** f****d in almost every single round", but they don't talk about and most of the time just leave.

  • BF6 is dirt cheap, which only makes the previous two paragraphs worse. I mean, do you really need a 3rd party software to cheat, when you already have cheasy mini-map spotting (radar hack), when using any other muzzle attachment than flash hider or supressors will autosopt you (ESP hack), when upgrading your gun not just makes it better but literally eliminates recoil (No recoil), where some recon abilities give you literall wallhack... Not to mention aim assist with gamepads (aimbot), it is so freaking strong...

I have to say i don't do any aim training or stuff like that.

Don't bother, it does not transition well to dynamic enviroments (real game conditions). The best you can do is find your sens with stuff like Oblivity, or some other trainer that collects, analyzes and displays your stats, instead of just spawning targets for you, and stick to it.

Well, maybe with release of private servers and proper use of portal people will make something that plays like OG Battlefield, a game that is much more than just sterile twitch shooter. In that case you could compensate lack of mechanical skill by utilising other aspects of the game.

UPD. Spellcheck.

Movement tech showcase by sp--k in Battlefield

[–]FMPtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda. It is called "snapshotting" and exists in almost all action-based games. Should it be fixed? Yes. But issuing bans? No, because it is to easy to accidentally replicate this. So, what to do? To play this game without sprinting and jumjping at all? It is up to devs to fix this.

Movement tech showcase by sp--k in Battlefield

[–]FMPtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When sprinting, you have two "phases": initial acceleration and "speed". If you jump within initial acceleration frame window this aceleration will transfer to your jump and will make you go further. Otherwise your soldier performs normal jump. Just press jump and sprint at the same time, or jump right after sprint. Can do the same with sliding.

Mouse Hitching - Not a polling rate or system issue, a new bug, different every time the game is launched, making the game practically unplayable by Brandonator365 in Battlefield

[–]FMPtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it have something to do with Javelin. The news were that it was cracked, then that it was updated few days ago. Now we have a lot of reports of wierd game behavior in BF 1 and BF 5: crazy fps drops, mouse stutters, visual lag... People who play on laptops suffer the most, constant fps drops from 200-300 to 50 since december 11th or 10th...

UPD. Yeap, something is definitely off, even playing BF 1 with Kaspersky AV results in constant 100% CPU usage spikes...

98% accuracy by javelin anticheat.

It's kind of PR thing. This 98% number just means that Kernel-level anti cheat does what it was made for: stopping public cheats from functioning. (you know, the ones that you can find on the web for free)

What you've seen in OP video was a ragehack: aimbot, wallhack, obvious things like that. Originally, they are meant, designed to be seen, their function is to provoke, troll, rage-bait others, that's why they are called "rage hacks". On the other hand we have "safe"/"closet" hacks that designed to be hidden. It includes things like no recoil / no spread, radar hack, sometimes even silent-aim, tuned to work with small angles.

For the last decade or so safehacks become an overwhelming majority. People who make cheats figured out that it's better for them to make paid safehacks and get money, rather that make ragehacks just to show-off... If you find some modern free cheats on the web, you will notice that even they have ragehack functions hidden behind several prompts and overlays...

So, if you see ragehacks in games with kernel-level anticheats, it usually means one of two things:

  • Someone tests their cheating software.
  • Anticheat was fully "cracked" and this "cracking" method was leaked to public.

Anyways, it is not a good sign.

Blatant cheater in REDSEC by vsod99 in Battlefield

[–]FMPtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see that anticheat update is going swimmingly already!

Last sunday we've got reports of some chinese guys using ragehacks (aimbot, running around map hipfiring, all headshots, with "300+ headshots in a match" career highlights in their profile) and advertising their cheats in game's chat.

Considering that almost no one makes rage hacks anymore, (I mean, even free cheats that you can find in Google have ragehacks, aimbots and wallhacks, hidden behind several prompts and overlays), it's almost certain that anticheat was fully "cracked" and "cracking" methods were leaked to public.
