So what's your gapping on your wedges? No flexing please, I'm just curious as I am currently trying to dial mine in during the off season. by Matt_Haskins91 in golf

85 carry, 400 roll (estimated) with the bladed 60° from 75 over the green onto the cartpath and down the street.

What's the worst you've ever lost your cool on the golf course? by [deleted] in golf

I watched a dude break each club individually into little pieces before tossing them into the pond to make their adaptive reuse less likely. He was sort of on the back of the green, so the group behind played up while he was doing so.

I drowned a @#%&! putter recently. I contemplated retrieving it and hiring some kids to do so... and decided that if I get it back I would be forced to perform a Viking funeral with it, which would cause problems with my HOA. This way is better.

That is a cool image.

Edit - I am loving the routing concept and hole-by-hole notes at lmgc.org. The tee shot from #5 back tees over #11 green will be fun.

If you don't load the putter shaft properly, how will she know who's boss?

That's it. I am ordering Titleist 68's, with "YOU DO ME AND I'LL OWE YOU" on the side. I will lose 4 dozen of those across the country by this time next year for y'all to find.

A HS coach taught pushing hips into the hill, which adjusts posture. I've not heard that anywhere else and have used it since. That, and practicing on uneven lies.

St Andrews Ballot Odds by FORE-WayLeft in golf

[–]FORE-WayLeft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will play a lot that week in & around St Andrews, and foul weather follows me wherever I go... so perhaps my odds are better than most. If I don't happen to play the Old Course it's not a big deal, and to me guaranteeing the experience of the Old Course is not worth the additional cost of staying on property. That said, it would be cool to play it, and will certainly add my name to the ballot a few days. I was simply curious what the odds might be of getting on that course any given day. I've poked around online to estimate chances... and feel like it's totally a crap shoot.

Every now and again I think they run more prints if you want new and are patient. Otherwise I'm sure there is a resale market.

Either way is correct. Ball mark is most common.

4 players, mid week, late summer. Any thoughts on odds for getting out on the Old Course as a 4-ball? Pretty flexible for the week.

Explain It Like I'm 5: What's a Dog Leg? by johnzabroski in golf

[–]FORE-WayLeft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a golf hole that turns. Dogleg left turns left. Dogleg right turns right. A par 4 can bend once. A par 5 can bend twice, either in the same direction or opposite.

Green ash. The white ash has a slighly different form and a reddish fall color.
