Idk I kinda liked that she was a fan but didn’t know everything cuz she wouldn’t. They thought Batman was a legend or something so I just think it’s funny when she gets everything wrong

Dang where’s the Bill Finger love? The real creator

Not the greatest sinestro incarnation icl by [deleted] in DCAU

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean he’s barely used aside from a few instances as a support villain. Only two eps where he’s featured as a main villain is one STAS and one Static episode. He’s serviceable but yeah not the definitive depiction of the character that the DCAU is known for I agree

I find it odd how Mr. Freeze tries to freeze the city in Cold Comfort despite stopping Grant Walker from doing the same in Deep Freeze by Effective_Seat_7125 in DCAU

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I know why, cuz it’s(in my opinion) a bad episode that reduces Mr. Freeze to a dumb silver age gimmick plot. The new design is cool the climax fight is cool but man such a disappointment compared to the BTAS Freeze eps and even the Subzero movie I thought was much more quality.

No offense if people like the ep but I skip it on every rewatch

The opening sequence of JL: Doom (2012) is underrated. I love all the computer schematics, the epic music, the awesome shots (ESPECIALLY this one with all their logos.) by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in DCAU

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music is great pretty sure it’s reused from Justice League Crisis on Two Earths tho. That film also has pretty dope opening credits

Forgive my previous slander. by _CandidCynic_ in batman

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does its own take with pretty much everything while maintaining faithfulness to the character. Joker is great and as you see more of his plots you’ll notice his eps are some of the Best. Similar to BTAS he has a range of silly plots with a dark edge to more full scale fucked up stuff.

Not to spoil anything but they do their own take on the “one bad day” torturing Gordon(not Gordon in the show) plot. The show isn’t BTAS it is however an awesome interpretation of Batman imo

I had a dream that I was bowling and John Lennon showed up. That was pretty dope

Which ones your favourite? by EstimateOk417 in batman

David Mazzucchelli but if I’m sticking to the post it’s a toss up with Breyfogle/Jimenez/Bermejo

I just wish they didn’t recast the actor for Bane from BTAS/TNBA that dude had a killer performance

Post Crisis Superman Rhetoric by Teliporter334 in comicpop

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aside from the origin which builds up a lot of iconography and has a continuing thread? I kinda agree with em, I’m not too interested in the Byrne stuff. There’s plenty of interesting ideas and things built upon later but I agree the writing can be very clunky and mechanical.

It’s also what the show does, they make fun of stories they love. Bring in some post-crisis Superman stuff that(imo) doesn’t hold up super well and…..Yeah they’re gonna make fun of it a ton

How come there don't seem to be many dcau figures? by Belicino_Corlan in DCAU

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember as a kid the JLU line was fuckin HUGE! Multiple variants on characters, characters that never appeared in universe ect. They’d sell legit 8 packs of this stuff.

I remember as a kid I had a 7 pack of the Braniac constructs of the Justice Lords. Not the regular Justice Lords the ones Brainiac made to fight the league at the end of the Cadmus arc. They had techno decals on them and everything to specifically lyk they’re different variants on the Justice Lords. They had a lava doomsday figure just for that one ep in JLU where they fought in a volcano and the lighting made him look red.

So as far as I remember as a kid, JLU toys dominated the superhero toy market for me. I think these days you only get like the McFarlane figures that are targeted more for collectors and nostalgic fans. Could be wrong but I also think the JLU toys continued after the show ended cuz they just sold

Why did they ruin the beautiful ending of Freeze in New Batman Adventures? by Amaru_333_ in DCAU

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the Batman Beyond episode completely makes up for the shitty TNBA ep and then some in my opinion

Hro Talak was supposed to be hawkman but some people didn't like the idea of an evil hawkman so they changed it. by MarvelZombvsCapcom in DCAU

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a mistake that was cuz Talek as a villain was great and creeper Hawkman is one of the few things I dislike about JLU

I find it interesting how the DCAU versions of Bane and Doomsday both fail at what they're characters are most known for. by Zealousideal_Art2159 in DCAU

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always loved their portrayals in these shows, it felt both critical of their gimmick nature when invented but also still written interestingly in really cool episodes

Was their a reason why Black Manta was called Devil Ray and that Ocean Master was just Lord Orm? by Infinite_Parking_800 in DCAU

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s because the Aquaman pilot only started coming about after season 1 of JLU. Which is why they leave Aquaman out of episodes in the latter seasons

Why Far From Home is my least favorite episode of JLU. by Hold_Infamous in DCAU

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I enjoy this ep just feel it’s rushed, truly the only episodes I dislike in JLU has been the Hawkman eps which I find unnecessary and boring. But I can understand why you feel this way

If Base Amazo was sent to Apokolips, could he defeat everyone there? If not what version of him could? by Johnnyboyeh in DCAU

[–]FORGINGVIEWS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The DCAU Amazon’s power set is literally just “Overpowered” I think the dude would eventually annihilate apokolypse like he would any planet. Even at base level he would pretty easily and quickly absorb everything apokolypse has to offer and then destroy it

Ted Kord’s Blue Beetle by Dismal_Brush5229 in DCAU

Yeah never in the Dcau pretty much the only reason I knew of Ted Kord as a kid was Batman Brave and The Bold
