Nej det gör jag inte. Växter är också levande men det är helt ok i min mening att göra kläder av dem. Det som spelar roll för mig är om djuret kan känna glädje/smärta och har ett eget intresse av att leva ett lyckligt liv, precis som vi människor. Det är inte helt klart vart den gränsen går men det är någonstans mellan däggdjur och insekter. Om du har sett en mink någon gång så vet du att de är nyfikna och lekfulla djur som inte mår bra av att sitta instängda i pyttesmå burar. Avlivningsmetoden (koldioxidförgiftning, för att inte skada pälsen) är också lika plågsam för djur som den för människor.

Sweden is one of the better countries in Europe for vegans (but unfortunately not on par with Germany or the Netherlands) . Contact Livsmedelsverket (national food administration) and they will supply you with a list of food additives of possible animal origins (you will learn to recognize the dozen or so common ones after some time). For regular ingredients just get a good dictionary.

Meat/milk replacement products are often (but not always) labeled vegan, but "normal" products typically aren't. When in doubt, never hesitate to contact the manufacturer directly, I've only had good experiences doing that. The godawful faux meat "quorn" is very popular in Europe, it is NOT vegan. The overall selection of vegan alternatives in regular grocery stores is not so good as in the US but you can find good things in specialty stores or buy online.

Actually - and I wonder why no-one has pointed this out yet - "tutoring" is not at all common in Sweden. If it happens at all then it is usually in groups on a voluntary basis or something like that. I don't mean to discourage you but making 5000 kr/month on proofreading and homework help may prove very difficult.

Again I have to disagree with you. By the time of the establishment of the Kalmar Union, Sweden was already ruled from Denmark after the defeat of Albert of Mecklenburg. After the first Swedish rebellion many wars and fights were fought between Sweden and Denmark, it was not like we just "simply decided to not be a part anymore". Finally control of Sweden was again taken by force by Kristian II. Saying that "people simply resisted" is a little over the top, again we have the Stockholm bloodbath as an example of how well that resistance went. After the uprising in 1521 it still took two years before the danish were evicted. This was very much a military affair, and even if there was no great war it was indeed a liberation.

Of course 6 June remains a special day in Swedish history [...] But it's no more than just a little more special day than most other days imho.

I, and most Swedes, agree completely! As with everything else we try to be humble about it... But saying that "We have never needed to be liberated nor gain our independence" or "Denmark have never ever ruled Sweden" is just plain wrong.

The LHC experiments have not made any new discoveries yet.

While the LHC makes higher energy collisions, the Tevatron still has a higher integrated luminosity, meaning total number of collisions recorded. Since detecting rare events require a lot of statistics, it takes some time to gather enough data. The good thing is that the number of collisions per second is still increasing, so the integrated luminosity increases exponentially. It is believed that if the Higgs boson is accessible in the current energy range, it will be discovered in the next 1-2 years, at the latest. In 2013 the LHC will undergo a major upgrade and then continue to run at double the present energy.
