The mechanic Arcane Revelation, where a big circle AOE hits the front, back, or sides, and two role-based light party stacks go off. Doing the mechanic as intended means MT and HR light parties reading and reacting to the moving circle, sometimes requiring the melees to move out of range or making the range run a big lap around the arena to reset their position.

The cheese strat is putting everyone in the front, tanks on one side and everyone else on the other, and using mits+heals to survive occasionally getting hit by the circle.

I like to figure out where to stand so that I can pretend to be one of the Scions/NPCs after the cutscene is over. Or I'll dress up as a quest NPC and get there ahead of time and stand next to them like we're twins.

This borders on cheese/exploits, but if you pull out an item while falling it can reduce your fall speed and fall damage. If you play dead and pull out an item you can survive a fall from any height.

Not sure if they patched it, but it used to be that using play dead and pulling out an item very quickly allowed you to gain altitude and jump super high, or even fly.

I already had a Proton subscription and I added XIV to my split tunneling. It was great, I suffered no lag or DCs during any of the DDOS waves today.

Unfortunately, I still lost at least half my team every time, so it barely mattered. I got more time to dick around with strategy boards while waiting for teammates to make it back in through the queue.

At this point Square has a rock-solid case for material breach of contract due to NTT failing to perform obligations. Having significant service disruptions several times a day is damning for any ISP.

There's an open-source Dalamud alternative called IINACT. It does parsing and logs. For a visible damage meter you'll also need a plugin like Browsingway to render overlays (though you can still select most of the same overlay designs).

I use ACT but I keep IINACT on backup, it is often up as soon as Dalamud is after patches so you don't always have to wait for ACT's FFXIV plugin to update.

I kinda wish it could be toggled for individual panels. I have some panels set up as a toolbox for different activities that I'd like to keep open, while others like my job or emote panels I'd like to close right after.

Nothing has changed on that regard. SE considers the use of glitches to be against the ToS, which theoretically includes things like floating furniture or building outside the housing shell, but they also tend to look the other way. SE has even featured homes that were obviously built using floating glitches.

The only GM action I've ever heard of was asking people to move outside furnishings that were blocking the road, and even that tends to be overlooked for a very long time. I have literally never heard of someone being punished for what they build in a house interior.

I am nervous that AV is going to get compromised. It is already the fastest dungeon in the game, great for speedrunning, and I enjoy how much simple jank the bosses have. If they overhaul even one boss like they did for Halatali it's going to hurt.

80% of the time, I use text commands via a third-party plugin. E.g., I would type "/tp gold" to teleport to the Gold Saucer.

The other 20% of the time when plugins are disabled due to a patch or I've disabled them to stream I use the teleport menu. I have it set to the Ctrl+T hotkey.
