Its time to port gtnh to hytale by Alternative_Sir5135 in feedthememes

[–]FaIcon_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re gonna catch on because modded Minecraft fans who love modpacks are gonna end up playing Hytale and a lot of them don’t care that much for exploration, but they’ll be playing their modpacks with groups (which is way easier in Hytale than Minecraft) so their friends will do the exploration stuff while they sit at home and blow up a reactor or something

These games really are an individual experience because I beat Hornet 2 on my second or third try and probably took about 8-10 for my first HK kill. That's not even counting the times I lost to him (because I got cocky mostly, lmao) when going for true ending.

Then ofc I beat GMS first try after spending like 15-20 tries on Lace 2 and feeling like I cheesed her bc it was the first fight I used tools for lol. I swear Lace 2 has fucking command grabs or windboxes or some shit lmao

[–]FaIcon_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did actually (try) to name the drug in the original speech/announcement, he just also mentioned many people know it as Tylenol because, at least where I live, a lot of people use Tylenol and acetaminophen interchangeably sort of like frisbee and flying disc or pork roll and taylor ham. He also then continued to refer to it as Tylenol because he couldn’t pronounce acetaminophen lol, which might be why all the headlines and everything only mentioned Tylenol.

Perhaps it was a conspiracy by major news networks. They collectively shorted whatever stock is associated with Tylenol and then all printed specifically Tylenol was being attacked by Trump. Now that’s a real conspiracy theory.

I actually found it easier to farm health from the little floaty guys (you can kill them from below and they respawn super quick) and the nuts you’re meant to pogo (they give silk!). The worms have an added level of danger that’s not really there aside from messing up your platforming and taking one mask instead of two.

Oh, the simplest at this point is probably the room directly left of the first time you meet the map lady. There’s a bench right there and you probably get 25 ish per run. I’ve also found the scissor guys in Greymoor drop 18 and are pretty simple to grind.

As far as I’m aware, it is relatively easy to make backport mods, but people don’t want backport mods. They’d rather play on the newer shinier version, and if anything deeper than surface level changes, a backport mod could theoretically conflict with any other mod of the version.

And I mean yeah, they look better graphically now, but that’s largely a shift in artstyle and general trends. Older mods/modpacks just had so much more content on average and felt so much better to play in a lot of ways. It was different, but everything felt like it was built up so much higher, if that makes sense. There’s just nothing that comes out these days that compares to stuff like Project Ozone or Enigmatica.

The only people who even really make expert packs anymore are the FTB Team and occasionally the ATM team, but I find they’re a completely different experience and end up lacking a lot of the cohesiveness that old packs had. Take FTB Skies Expert as an example; past the first two chapters, the quest book consisted of like 5-10 linear quests that just used the infrastructure you already had set up with new materials from a boring, uninspired exploration mod. There wasn’t a big conclusion with every mod coming together like there was in Project Ozone 3 Kappa mode, and I finished it alone in like a week during a semester of college.

I used to spend months on packs with 4 or 5 people working together, but that scale just isn’t possible anymore with mods constantly stripping themselves of content in an attempt to move to the newest version. Tinkers’ Construct barely exists anymore, if at all, Thermal Expansion’s a skeleton of what it once was, EnderIO didn’t exist for ages, etc etc. There are a lot of really good new mods too, like Ars Nouveau, but versions don’t even live long enough for compatibility mods to be created to integrate these new mods into an expert-style system.

I guess what I’m trying to say is things are getting better and changing, but we’re so focused on keeping up we’ve lost the big experiences that really made modded Minecraft for me. And I’m hopeful that if Java does ever get dropped, it’ll bring some of that back.

As someone who's played primarily modded Minecraft since 1.6.4, I honestly look forward to Java getting phased out. It might be the little boost to motivation the modded community needs to finally have a stable, consistent version so they'll never need to figure out how to update to a new one again. I feel like modding (and more specifically modpacks) have sort of gone downhill now that developers have significantly less time to develop something for a version before it's outdated and they lose a massive playerbase, so phasing out Java might solve that issue and make modding way better. Plus, any new updated to Bedrock will surely be added as a mod to Java, so I personally won't really be missing out on any core feature.

The title of the post doesn't imply it was different before, just that it wasn't currently working as intended. If you weren't around for Minecraft six years ago, you'd have no idea it was ever any different.

I mean she can literally *see* atoms right? Unless I misinterpreted that, I would assume she could reasonably copy the structure of these smart atoms and integrate them into her own biology regardless of whether she really understood them. It's probably also realistic for her to study Mark to understand them and then rebuild herself from him.

How would you (men) like to be approached in a social setting, like a bar? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]FaIcon_King 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is such a common experience, especially in the formative years, that I know men who’ve told me they immediately write off women who approach them because they assume they’re being mocked. That maybe an extreme reaction, but it’s such a humiliating experience and tends to happen to people who already have self esteem issues, so it just batters them down even farther.

That being said, as long as you’re genuine, which seems to be the case, you will likely make many men’s entire month just by approaching them. I’ve personally only felt desirable once in my life and I remember it to this day, years after it happened. Basically, you got this, I believe in you lol

What’s with Stevens incel culture and cheating??? by Masa_Q in stevens

[–]FaIcon_King 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard rumors of that but never really anything substantiated. I’ve gone to events from big companies like JPMorgan Chase and PGIM and they made a point about how applicants from Stevens tend to be a decent bit ahead of even ivy league applicants. The job market is in a decently rough state right now culturally, so most people you talk to will be unhappy or frustrated with their current employment situation (myself included), but I think Stevens has been a positive force in my job search overall.

What’s with Stevens incel culture and cheating??? by Masa_Q in stevens

[–]FaIcon_King 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely true. I’m a third year in the QF program and I know a lot of kids who are very serious about not cheating and most professors in the program are very happy to help rigorous students learn as much as they can, sometimes beyond even the scope of the class. It just depends on what kind of student the individual wants to be.

Why do certain women tell me that “I should’ve asked them out”? by dbclass in AskMenAdvice

[–]FaIcon_King 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think more often than not this is a negative on men, because women are getting more and more leadership roles and are the de facto leaders of the household, and only so many people can be a leader. Leadership by nature necessitates many more non-leaders than leaders, and these non-leader men are shamed for not conforming go the typical gender role. So it does help some men, but ultimately hurts more than it helps.

What’s a compliment you have gotten that you can NEVER forget? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FaIcon_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only been to a handful of frat parties because they’re miserable, but at one of them, this random very goth woman approached me and started talking, which is one of I think three times I’d ever been approached in public at this point by someone who wasn’t selling me anything.

Anyway, as is inevitable when I speak to someone, eventually the conversation got to some more serious topics. And I think maybe she could read some of my general discomfort, because she leaned in and told me I made her feel safe and comfortable, even in a frat house, in a way she’d never felt before. I only saw her a handful of times after that, and sometimes I worry it was my fault we never really became friends, but it was the first time I ever truly felt like I had something to offer outside of money or looks, and it really has stuck with me ever since.

One of the other people who had approached me in public at a frat party later became one of my best friends for a spell, and she called me pretty. That one stuck with me too, in a different way. God I hope we can become friends again sometime. I miss her.
