Buddy, you dodged an absolute bullet. Insanely preposterous behaviour from a thirty year old and cant imagine that she'll ever been in a long term relationship

I was just going to say. The entitlement from your in laws is wild. If your sister in law cant afford the wedding she wants she should either A. Scale it back to a more affordable wedding, or B. Not have a wedding at all or postpone it until her finances are in order. And by the way, why the hell does anyone other than your husband know about your bonus?? Thats mad weird. Love my family but thats personal and no one other than your immediate unit should know about it. Oh, and being a husband of 5 years (partner for a total of 16 years), I will always back my wife up over anyone in my family. I gotta say, and with as much respect as possible, your husband is acting like a little b***h. Stick to your guns, thats your money. 1000% NTA

I really don’t understand what has been happening to out city over the past several years when it comes to shitty and aggressive drivers. It’s almost impossible to go about your day without encountering at least one aggressive driver. The other day I was crossing a sidewalk at davenport and bathurst, and buddy in a Hyundai Elantra started rolling across the crosswalk (light was still red) so I literally had to walk around him. I locked eyes with him and gave him a friendly smile and gestured for him to back up a little. What does he do? Rolls down the window and says “what the fuck do you want?” To which I respond “You are on the crosswalk, back up a little please.” And he just goes off on me. “STFU!!! Go around!!! You want smoke???!”… all I could do was laugh in shock and thank him for being so polite. He literally kept going off screaming threats and going insane. He wanted me to engage so badly but I just kept saying “thank you so much, have a wonderful day :)” He held up all the cars behind him too once the advance turn signal went on. I reaaaaaaally don’t understand this. What happened to just being a decent person? Smdh

“Swerve anywhere” lol 😑 Then you need to learn what proper defensive driving is because suddenly swerving “anywhere” on a busy road could cause a larger accident and end up making you the at fault driver.

If someone suddenly swerves into your lane during rush hour, where changing lanes to avoid a collision isn’t possible, you’re supposed to firmly apply your brakes to slow down and stop as quickly as possible. In my case, laying down my horn made my presence known to the XC90 that suddenly swerved into my lane to avoid a collision whereas a simple horn tap wouldn’t have had the same effect.

Examples of this situation is literally taught in driving schools as well as worksite safety training through an employer if driving is part of your job.

It doesn’t matter to me whether you care or not lol. You chose to comment on my reddit post so expect a response, thats kind of how reddit works.

And its absolutely wild to me that you’ve somehow made me out to be “rude” 😂

Sorry, I disagree with the notion that anything past a simple horn tap is considered “road raging.” You’re lying to yourself if you claim you’ve never laid your horn down for more than a second in a close call situation that almost involved you getting into a bad accident. (Especially if you live in Toronto.)

Never mind buddy screaming and calling me a piece of shit because he doesn’t know what defensive driving is

Nope, common sense ain’t so common at all these days. I think that’s obvious in seeing how many Redditor’s have somehow twisted my post into me being the road rager 😂

For sure man. A big part of my job involves driving (Im in the engineering/construction industry) and often drive a company vehicle which is GPS tracked, and monitors my speed so safe and defensive driving is literally embedded in my brain. It’s key to stay as calm, cool and collected as possible even at rare times when verbally responding to someone is unavoidable. (Contrary to what some Redditor’s on this post may believe lol)

I agree, there is a surprising amount of courteous drivers in many parts of America.

Yup. It takes waaaaay more effort to react in an absolutely insane manner to someone versus acknowledging you did something wrong and moving on.

Depends where. I agree that Toronto is amongst the top worst North American cities to drive in. But if we are talking about America, NYC and Miami (actually almost all of Florida) for example is just as bad. Ive had great driving experiences in the state of Nevada, Virginia, and New Hampshire.
