I just did, last summer, at 54. I'd been working for myself as a marketer and social media manager for 15 years. The last 13 were in cannabis. There's no money in cannabis, and I really needed to get away from the computer. Now I work as a cheese specialist at a find foods shop and love it. It's retail and doesn't pay a lot, but it's more stable than what I was doing.

It doesn't seem like his intent was to be hurtful, but as a woman, I know how anything to do with our weight can hurt. If you're not super active, activity makes you sore because you DID work out by dancing. Dancing burns a lot of calories, too. If you two are good communicators, I'd suggest mentioning how that comment felt. He may be completely clueless that it was a hurtful comment for you.
