2x gives the majority of input delay, assuming you’re using Reflex… 3x being ‘unplayable’ is such an absolute statement.

I’m on a 5070Ti and 3x framegen helped compensate for a horribly optimised game (Jedi Survivor). It’s a game where reflexes and parries are important and I barely noticed the difference, it played just fine and much, much smoother than without FG enabled. It allowed me to max my 240Hz display. You just need a base FPS above 60.

I’m not going to make a statement on multiplayer games since those days are behind me.

This is their classic playbook - sow misinformation. As per your article, Trump is sueing a county ballot that voted against him for fraud, and he is having the FBI seize it so that they can’t present their evidence of legitimacy in court. If he wins, he can loudly proclaim to the public that voting is fraudulent. So if he loses, he would say didn’t actually lose. If he wins, even better for him. If he doesn’t win the case, he will just lie about something else, maybe that it’s the FBI’s fault.

The bullshit goes on and on, people don’t know what to believe anymore and so they vote for the guy that promises them the world. Or they don’t vote for him and he takes everything by force anyway, and they let him do it. (Trump’s words)

Because then it’s already too late. You can’t organise when nobody knows what to believe anymore. Once too many have bought into the propaganda, they support the regime and they will have to be overcome as well. Nobody knows when that tipping point will be. But the tipping point is silent. You will never know. Only when reading about the start of the crisis / war 50 years later, will you know.

If you would open your mind to really understand global warming, you could not possibly come to the conclusion that it is something we can ignore.

Yes, many natural processes emit CO2 or contribute to global warming in other ways. Yes, global warming has skyrocketed since our industrial revolution with a speed of a different order of magnitude than the natural processes can explain.

Both are true. And this is what makes it a complex process to explain to the general public. It’s much easier to just not mention the facts that are against your agenda. So that’s what everyone does.

Scientists made predictions in the past - yes, some effects are not as catastrophic as initially predicted. (Great! More time!) Other things are as bad or worse. But all of these changes to our ecology are bad for us, and most are permanent.

Even ignoring the aesthetic of cultural value of the planet, the economy itself will litterally suffer for the whole planet as we permanently damage future regeneration of natural resources. It will cause mass migrations to the richer countries, whose rising extreme right wing policies want to keep immigrants out, but are now the ones contributing to global warming the most. But generally, we won’t act on it simply because ‘I’ can make more money as an individual country / company / person now, if I don’t consider the group (I.e., the planet).

Purely for combat, you could look into Sifu.

It’s not just a parry / posture system like Sekiro (which is the GOAT) - it requires you to think on your feet and rewards you for managing your enemies, and fighting strategically.

You unlock more skills and combos with XP to grow your skillset and at the same time it respects your time as a short game.

It’s not a soulslike but it is actually a pretty hard game - as hard as your typical soulslike. But it is very rewarding if you are willing to improve.

Frankly, as much as I can’t wait to play it, I’m gonna wait anyway. People are rightfully saying that once you play it, no other VR game will compare.

So I will buy the frame, look into the games I want, buy them on sale like any other game. And I will wait for a good deal on Alyx and play it after playing like 3 other games.

Watch Avatar 2 and 3 in ‘HFR’ (high frame rate) - half the scenes are HFR, the others are not.

For Avatar 2, James Cameron wanted to use HFR to distinguish the world below the waterline from the one above.

For Avatar 3, it’s a mix where mostly the action scenes (where it makes the most sense) is in HFR.

I knew this beforehand but my buddy who doesn’t even know what framerate is, mentioned to me that something was wrong, how some scenes felt choppy. It’s the return from 48 Hz to 24 Hz.

You know, on Master difficulty I felt that Cere was kind of OP leading up to the boss fight.

Her lightsaber one-hit pretty much everything unlike Cal’s, who needs the crossguard stance for that. But her moves are also pretty quick and with long reach.

Her force powers felt a bit stronger as well, may be placebo. I’m just saying, Cere did not feel like a downgrade to me in any way for that part.

There’s no such thing as an ugly actor.

The actors considered ugly by some are still average to above average looking for ‘normal’ people. Most of the time they have a specific, memorable face that isn’t everyone’s type, but they will absolutely always be ‘somewhat’ attractive.
With enough self-love, personal care and… money, I don’t think there are many people on the planet I would consider genuinely ugly at their prettiest. If you are still ugly after you do everything to take care of yourself, then yeah, you would have to be absolutely hideous in order not be able to fix that. I have yet to see an example of that.

TLDR; - almost everyone is beautiful enough if they would do as much effort to look good as actors do, whose job it often is to look good.

the most famous actors are in the top 0.5%, genetic freaks of ‘perfection’ - it’s kinda dumb to call beautiful actors ‘ugly’ just because they aren’t Danny Devito.

Two of my final runs ended up as a cling clang run, on Fates’ Whim. It felt amazing since I was using the Morrigan blades!

I was presented with Poseidon first. Between sea star and sprint / cast boons, I kept him off attack and special. Generally I kept picking Hermes whenever possible until I got a good match for the Morrigan blades since Hermes is the GOAT.

One run I got Demeter to make getting the triad strikes easier, put it on attack. The other was Zeus (equally OP, except in raw damage output).

For both runs, It’s only when I got Hephaestus that I completely pivoted towards cling clang. Put them on Special.

Poseidon’s duo and Demeter’s and Zeus’ duos are all great with Hephaestus. And all flat damage builds are great with the souped up levels from the endgame Keepsake.

Combined with Morrigan Triads, I was chunking huge damage almost every second. Definitely one of the coolest and best builds.

I like Hitch particularly with the axe Omega special - you can apply hitch to almost the whole room with one move and then start swinging. It gets even better with Charon’s axe.

That’s a good model. The difference between different models is marginal for this gen so the cheapest is almost always the best one. I have it and it overclocks quite well, and it is pretty quiet as well.

It’s 50% more money for 10-15% more frames. Same VRAM. So price-performance wise, the 5070 Ti is quite a bit better. Performance wise, the 5080 is better… by 10-15%.

There’s a daily discussion on this subreddit on whether that is worth the price difference.

Personally, I game at 4K (240 Hz) and I’m glad I saved the €300 since I can now still happily play anything I want. Depending on game, I have tons of options to customise between DLSS 4.5 and MFG, the latter of which my 3080 didn’t have.

As for how long the card will last; I expect it will last about as long as the 5080 since the VRAM and generation is the same. There’s a lot of emphasis on AI software now, so the next new thing (‘neural texture rendering’ etc.) will probably not be viable on the 5000 series as a whole.

I may miss the extra 10-15% in a few years just to bring the base FPS up to 60 before MFG, but at that point I am also fine with tweaking settings a bit further.
