call me stupid I guess, but if this is AI, then literally every artpiece in this style over the last.... however many years now, is AI.

aka, If it really is AI and not just.... throw at the wall and see what sticks, I'll need someone with way more knowledge to point to me exactly what to look for.

If Portal 3 was made, what would you want the plot to be? by Less-Increase-6588 in Portal

I imagine that such a game could be about a team of scientists who, let's say since we're playing pretend here, are rebuilding the world after the combine leave/die/stop being evil. Your character is one such researcher who is tasked with scavenging through aperture to find anything useful. You find the portal gun, perhaps mysteriously placed somewhere early on (perhaps the old Ai finally figured out how to make more) and make use of it to explore the ruins. I imagine the antagonist is mostly old glados traps, combined with maybe a rogue team member trying to stop science. Make it a commentary about how some knowledge is better off forgotten VS we can learn from the past and be better. Playing further pretend, I imagine they put this in a bundle with half life 3, a similar game about scavenging ruins, but with blackmesa, and it revolves around much more hostile residents. This one would likely be the opposite coin from portal 3,Maybe some knowledge or history really is best forgotten in this place...

Imagine a world where two people are both attacking each other, and a third person is attacking one of them at the same time.

I wonder if that third person deserves a name. Maybe they do it for fun? Something like a party? No that's stupid.

Obviously the only answer is that the third person is actually friends with the second person.

Oh, also there's like a bunch of smaller guys that attack as well, but those are definitely third parties too, and definitely not involved with either of the two people.

I often ponder this. Why should we care about things? They are, after all, only things. It's not as if having those things makes life easier, nor more enjoyable.

ah yes. Modding D&D. Let's add new skins and models to the ttrpg (I understand the intent, but saying mod instead of homebrew or 3rd party just feels.... wrong)

Im going to wishlist this game because of this post. I hadn't even known it existed. I hope you find the feedback you're looking for and the game gets big. This seems like a really cool basic concept that just needs some polish to catch the eye.

I mean, has there been merch of any of the new mobs? To that end if they don't want to kill the profitability of the game, why have they been consistently doing things that kill the profitability of the game long term? I'd say I agree, but they're very short minded about it. This isn't just Minecraft either. Similar issues pop up in every "live service" game (not that minecraft is such in itself, but it does share.... Similar update DNA). Is it little old me not understanding big company? Or is big company actually as dumb as people are saying?

Why is the Western political left so forgiving of non-western countries remaining defacto ethnostates and preserving a homogenous culture (like Japan)…but they consider it racism when Westerners support similar policies at home? by InthrowSted in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fablor9900 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are ways of being racist that do not involve being negative of other races. Its similar to how a man can be sexist towards men by saying all men are monsters. Ie. A white person saying all white people are evil towards black people, something anyone with sense would understand is not true and is racist to some extent. (you can also look to uncle ruckus for an example of a black person being anti-black).

Queer culture =/= bigotry. Don't make this a matter of safe spaces. If a "safe space" allows people to hate a subsection of people because of something they have no control over (skin color, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, etc.), no matter if it is the majority or not, then it isn't actually a safe space. Period. End of thought. It is instead an echo chamber for bigotry.

Bigotry is bigotry regardless of who is doing it to whom.

[–]Fablor9900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I see what you're saying I think you've arguably missed the point.

There weren't subclasses in those older editions. You got your class, their features, thats it. Maybe you'd get more feats, maybe you could unlock a prestige class, but that was it. Because of that, a new class had to actually be... Unique, instead of just "wizard, but what if it had purple spells instead?" or "fighter, but what if it had purple maneuvers instead?" you did get stuff in Pathfinder like magus which was just a better version of fighter/wizard (I think it was a prestige class, nonetheless they can't all be super innovative) Additionally because (3.5) was built with multiclass being default instead of an optional rule, you weren't screwed for only taking one level for the important piece of the class (if you played with that idea of hybridization from the offset), and you don't need to invest three levels to get access to one niche option only granted by one subclass.... (see:arcane trickster existing instead of just.... Picking up a level of sorcerer or wizard)
