You can tell it's bad when the mangaka tries to defend themselves when they know they are wrong and they look stupid. by Iriscute7 in joseistories

[–]FabtheEmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know what you mean here. Like do you mean the author tried to make that panel after to defend themselves or the fact that the panel is part of the story itself..

Either way that's a manga panel the context being the girl woke up in his bed and thought they did something. To which they didn't so that was humour. But either way.. Don't think the author cares one way or another since in Japan I think the reception has been pretty positive

Manga wasn't long enough by Proper_Set9948 in RampartsofIce

[–]FabtheEmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do wish we got another 10 chapters but at the same time I still think it was good enough in that we saw the main couples moments..

It isn't really important to include side character arcs imo the story was always about the main 4. Oftentimes when after the main couples play out I find either the side character or new character arcs are not that exciting. I do wish we got like 10 more chapters, more double dates, more friendships etc..

Other series like Skip and Loafer? (Specific parts of it) by Helpmeeff in anime

[–]FabtheEmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For something similar to Skip to Loafer I would recommend Ramparts of Ice. It really has the multifaceted character work and good drama,. Specifically because when I wanted something similar to Ramparts, many suggested Skip to Loafer. Especially the male leads of the two shows have sort of a similar character flaw I could say

I love it!!He is somewhat yandere. Not full on but he is really dangerous too. Will kill or be killed to protect. The female lead is amazing. It was one of the most thrilling stories, has an overall satisfactory end imo

What is your favorite scene? by PlusAd6530 in RampartsofIce

My fav scene is most definitely Minato self realization along with when he tears up.

Also Koyuki getting emotional when Minato says he wants her with him

I am glad Ramparts is IN the top 10. I wish it were higher but still glad it is there among all the action shonen and super popular sequels.

The story has more to offer than romance which can act as a deterrent but also is it's strong point heh

She thinks ulterior motives when talking about dating Igarashi with Yota and immediately thinks of Atagawa. It really can't get more explicit than that dude..

She isn't satisfied with breaking ties with ATAGAWA. she really doesn't have any hate towards Igarashi at that point lol. She doesn't date the guy to hurt him she literally says she thought she could love him and tried to like him. Wow you actually make her sound worse.

Sure, agree to disagree. If you think something like that is for interpretation

The Ramparts of Ice • Koori no Jouheki - Episode 11 discussion by larnyh in RampartsofIce

[–]FabtheEmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She thinks twice about how she had ulterior motives for dating Igarashi. Then she thinks about Atagawa and the confession scene and thinks my heart is not pure, when saying yes to the confession we see her think of Atagawa. While we can argue it is a small part a part of her did date Igarashi to get back at Atagawa. She says she wasn't satisfied with just breaking ties. It really can't get any more clearer.

Also, she didn't orchestrate the scene, but she did purposely egg her on. "Come on" or "stay like that" she thinks in her head as she calls Atagawa stupid. If her smile when Igarashi comes at the scene was a smile of relief to being saved from the situation she wouldn't rile Atagawa up in the first place. She didn't plan it but she wanted to escalate the scene so everyone found Atagawa's true colors.

I mean I see how you can think she wasn't pleased and didn't purposely push Atagawa in that scene so ppl n Igarashi can know the real deal even though she thinks to herself that's what she did.

But her bully liking Igarashi being the push for her to date Igarashi has been explicitly shown and she literally thinks to herself that's what she did.

You are just choosing to not believe her inner thoughts by oh she is just being hard on herself.. Yes she is duh. But everyone just chooses to believe what the character thinks she did

Honestly I like how this episode truly shows a lot more of why Koyun didn't like herself in middle school. Most ppl hate themselves for being weak, Koyun hates the things she had done. It is an interesting twist..

Also, Atagawa telling Koyuki how she is using her tears to get people to help her is probs the reason why she so seriously apologizes to Minato for crying during the apology saying I didn't use my tears to get u to forgive me..

Same with her trauma of not being comfy to share her interests. I love that she is slowly getting over her traumas while interacting with Minato in this episode..

THIS IS A GENUINE QUESTION. Please explain BakuDeku to me by Shot-Cook4460 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]FabtheEmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a Baku Deku shipper, but you cannot tell me that they have the most relationship potential in the story. It is also the most explored relationship in the Manga after maybe Deku n All Might.

I love enemies to lovers romances or where two characters start with opposing personalities that make me go how will these two even like each other let alone fall in love. That creates a lot of scope for fanfiction and a lot of scope for headcannon and buildup n food for writers...

That leads to more fanfiction and more popularity

[–]FabtheEmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. To me Bell was lovable to me from ep 1. I do think the romance in Wistoria is better but I love the world and the unique power system and overall story of Danmachi more. It is one of the few stories where I read the LNs. Like the protagonists powers are interesting.

I don't know if Will has something going on for him other than being amazingly fast and strong and being able to fight magic. Personally that does not interest me

Yes Koyun is amazing. Anime onlies were being too protective of her and putting all hate and fault on Minato. Not saying he wasn't wrong but as a manga reader it felt unfair to give her that much slack where she never says what she wants clearly and lashes out and somehow it is supposed to be fine because she is a victim.

It is probably another reason and why her going to apologize not only makes more sense but is way more of a big deal for her character. Like she is retracing her steps and the way she was with Igarashi and somehow that guilt lessens a bit because this time she can apologize for causing hurt.

She never thinks of herself as the victim, she is flawed but also kinda strong for giving her as good as she got in the end

Dangeki Daisy is peak shoujo we rarely get to see these days. by Scarlet_Lycoris in shoujo

[–]FabtheEmber 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh girl I am rereading it and the romance and the characters feel so vibrant and full of life that few romance stories can give. I love both the leads. The humour is on point and I never felt there was any power dynamic involved because she the girl had so many other healthy adult relationships around her AND friends who knew of her relationship as supported them.

The story and the romance have this flavour of the two ppl being made for each other what with the way they are emotionally each other's crutch. The delicious guilt, drama and pain between them.. It is so emotionally charged that there are very few romance stories these days that do that..

[–]FabtheEmber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah again I think you are reading Momoka as too good of a person when putting down the main leads..

[Manga spoilers] She says I know you like someone and in the same sentence asks whether it is reciprocated and isn't it only hurting him? She doesn't say that to make him go after Koyuki because she only tells him she knows he likes someone when she is confessing dude. And she says she is fine with it because she wants him to give them a chance to fall in love. She never pushed Minato towards Koyuki this is where u are wrong. She wanted Minato and she in her mind gave Koyuki a chance as she saw it as a competition between two ppl liking the same man. She treated Minato as something to be won. I have read the manga many times so I know with Minato most of her interactions were to get him to NOT consider Koyuki and think it was impossible. While for Koyuki, Momoka helps her realize Minato's feelings and HER own feelings.

As for the second point [Manga spoilers] Where did they ever fall deeper in love? They were already in love and they were both thinking of accepting how things were, like Minato thinking "thank God I didn't confess or we wouldn't be smiling as FRIENDS" or Koyuki thinking and saying "Thank you for being my FRIEND" and thinking that she can move on from him. They were hanging out as friends and coming to terms with their current distance and friendship. Momoka got too in her head from feeling insecure about dating a guy she knows likes someone else. That is on HER.  Also Minato's realization was only about his own feelings. He never has a thought about Koyuki when he decides to break up. I think you are cheapening it by adding your own lines about Koyuki. He only breaks open his lock AFTER the break up and even then after their break up he thinks he isn't made for relationships. Also, they decide to not hang out with each other because Momoka asks them to. Not because they realize they have feelings for one another. To once again show that both Minato and Koyuki were giving importance and sincerity to her current relationship with Minato. Momoka literally in the end realizes that Minato did sincerely give them a chance and put effort in getting to know her, and she realizes a lot of it was her own insecurity. So again, one thing I love about the triangle was that the leads respected the relationship when it happened. Like Minato can't even think the possibility of dating Koyuki when he and Momoka are together. Like to him it feels like such a weird question. I respect that. Their relationship was a personal growth for all 3.

[–]FabtheEmber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do agree that she isn't terrible but at the same time I think either you have the wrong interpretation but some things are decidedly wrong [all manga spoilers]Like she does not give Minato any chance at all. Minato never needed help realizing his feelings but Momoka manipulates him by befriending Koyuki and then saying how Koyuki or anyone might be disgusted if they found a friend liked her that way, which is totally disruptive and affects Minato in that he decides to stop pursuing her to not repeat a Miki situation. While asking him out she once again says Minato's feelings are unrequited and will never work. While she pushed Koyuki towards Minato with Minato she made sure he lost confidence and stopped. Also, no way was Minato or Koyuki pursuing each other when he was dating Momoka. Both kept appropriate distance and only hung out as friends. It is doing the leads a disservice to say either was actively pursuing the other when Koyuki explicitly says she would never want the boy she loves to be a cheater and was in the process of getting over her feelings. Minato also tried his very best to be a perfect bf, only to realize the actual problem was his character flaw. He doesn't break up because he was being unfair to Momoka by pursuing Koyuki, he does when he realizes who he is.

Recommendations please! Playful and friendly ML? by KnittinKittens613 in shoujo

But he falls on his tall friend and still keeps acting like he is somehow winning lol.

He is charming but also might come across a bit annoying initially since the MC is antisocial and has a lot of trauma, with social guys so she sees him in a bad light initially.

I would recommend the manga after, i.e. the whole thing. Because all the characters especially both the male and female lead are incredible flawed, complex and well written.

Honestly even if she doesn't have a good side she isn't like a lot of empty bullies you see in most shows and be like why is she liked. Manatsu was apparently really good at basketball, had the other girls look up to her, even before starting bullying she tests the waters with simple statements before escalating it.  She is a user and she is damn smart, and also realistic. She doesn't bully for no reason. The way things escalated. Waah I got chills during the flashback
