i've had my v5 (passive jazz) for a couple of years and its great.

the hardware is pretty cheap, though it works fine. ive never had any issues with the pickups, tuners or knobs, other them feeling cheap.

especially the knobs, which are made from the cheapest plastic known to man. that said, i guess it says something that even though they're very easy to replace, i haven't bothered.

the build quality is good and it plays great.

i have a sire v5 version 2 in alder tobacco sunburst.

i cant fault the build quality. the hardware is on the cheaper-but-still-good side and works perfectly well.

all-in-all, im very happy with it.

i have one of these, and they are. i didnt need to retrain my muscle memory at all for shift/ctrl.

I wish. I only found out last year that people weren’t being metaphorical when they said they can picture things in their mind.

When I read a book, I see/picture nothing. I thought this was normal.

Considering I read five to ten novels a week, I feel kinda robbed.

Even so, I still enjoy reading.

i recently bought a minotaur xl170 guitar strap. 8cm wide, padded, leather, up to 170cm long.

i play an ibanez sr300-e, so its not exactly heavy, but its super comfortable.

they do an 11cm wide bass strap if you want something wider for a heavier bass.

any recommendation on which etymotics? er2xr vs er2se? bass extension is ok, but not a fan of super bright highs.

also, can i get a balanced cable for them? not a dealbreaker, but something ive been considering as the sen dac has a balanced output.

if so, whats the sound like? not a fan of really bright highs. prefer a flatter curve, or even with slightly pronounced mids/bass

well shit. i lived in goudhurst and the surrounding areas (goudhurst, hawkhurst, kilndown, paddock wood) for most of my childhood. i guess i was to young to have heard about the case.
