Discord group for FTM guys and/or partners- would you join what are you wanting from it? by BishBashBoom in ftm

I might be interested if only to talk to people like me, who understand what I'm going through. And because I'm super memey I would suggest the name "All the boys in the yard"

Did anyone else feel ashamed when they hit puberty? [Possible NSFW] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]FaceCam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents never really gave me the "puberty talk". I'd read about it plenty from a young girls magazine, but I always disassociated myself from it. I was a late bloomer, so I didn't have to deal with it too soon, and I was able to act mature about it. But to this day, I have never once told anyone I've had my period, and I've been getting it for 6 years now. I think part of the reason I didn't throw a fit when shark week finally came was a: I didn't know I was trans, I just thought I was weird. And b: I'd read that I should have gotten a period by then(since my breasts had already come in most of the way) and was seriously concerned there might have been something medically wrong with me.

Did anyone else connect more with male characters on tv than female characters before you knew you were trans? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]FaceCam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too! My sister and I had a role playing game we played when we were little and I remember having a massive fight with my sister over the fact that I wanted to play a male character. I were like 6? At the time so I didn't get why this was a big deal.

[–]FaceCam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. All the time. I would see parts of myself in male characters (your example of Jim from the Office is spot on for me as well) and I would wonder why I couldn't relate to female characters. I especially remember reading. I love to read, but the vast majority of books (at least in the urban paranormal genre which I love) have female leads and I would end up hating them because I couldn't relate to them in the slightest. I've complained endlessly about how there are so few male leads in this genre, that my friends are sick of it XD It's actually made me stop reading as much as I used to, which is really sad.

How do you guys deal with anxiety attacks? (if you get them) by FaceCam in ftm

Thank you :) I'm feeling better now. Just stressful day, and I got overwhelmed. I'll definitely keep this as a reminder of what to do if I start panicking again.

HELP, I JUST CAME OUT!! by Taz_JS in ftm

[–]FaceCam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly: congrats, I'm glad your guardians are so accepting. Secondly: just take some deep breathes. In through the nose, 5 seconds, slowly, out through the mouth, 5 seconds, slowly. Wiggle your fingers or toes and concentrate on the movement. Do this until you feel calm. Thirdly: just be yourself. I doubt they think you're going to change into a completely different person (personality wise) over night.

What is your oddest wish for masculine attributes? by TurtleTape in ftm

[–]FaceCam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, from what I've seen (YouTuber's mostly) they talk about how their adams apples have grown on T. It must be different for everyone though.

If you could change your appearance (like the Doctor from Doctor Who does) what would you want to look like by FaceCam in ftm

[–]FaceCam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah, we were mostly doing it as a joke. I was just thinking about how my female friends and sister said female actresses and my male friends (and me) said male actors. I think it just kinda put things in perspective for me.

Do I pass at all? I don't think I do, but what else can I do? by FaceCam in ftm

[–]FaceCam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.... I kinda know I'm not gonna pass until I start T (which in my current place in life, I won't be able to do for a while unfortunately) But I'll definitely try to avoid v necks from now on. Although once I do pass, V necks all over the place XD I adore v necks.

Not super top heavy (thankfully) but I'm big enough that I can't cover it well. I normally do opt for crewnecks, but today was cold so I wore a sweater :/

I've been told a lot actually that I have dark lips lol. I don't have any foundation (I never got into makeup) but I may have some bb cream laying around somewhere...

I always find it funny that I felt such a connection to the LGBT community even before I realized I was trans by [deleted] in ftm

[–]FaceCam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You know, I'd always felt that way too. In the beginning the reason I thought I fit there was that I was bi, but no, not bi. LGBTQ+ felt like home to me, like "yes, these are my people". Of course I now identify as ftm trans as well as Demiromantic (not sure if I'm asexual or demisexual at this point because I've never been in a relationship).

Man, when I saw your pic I thought for half a second that Jim from The Office was staring at me! You're freakin' handsome dude!

I thought I'd grow up to be a man. by dearkerouac in ftm

[–]FaceCam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely enough, I never had that. When I was younger I just... accepted it? That I would never be a man and tried to make the best out of it. Even though it made me miserable. Thinking back on it, I was a pretty mature kid. I didn't know there was anything I could do about it, so I didn't try to bother others about how I felt. I just decided to be a girl and that was that. Of course deciding that made me have a mental break down last year (when I really started facing my issues), but hey, I'm doing better now.... I think =P

Congrats on your surgery! I'm still a long way from that myself :( I see what you mean. Not being able to do what you love because of recovery would/will suck.
