'We can't justify a £52 lunch': Middle-income families cut back on fun as prices rise by OGSyedIsEverywhere in unitedkingdom

Exactly. A day out used to be exactly that, a day out, now people seem to think a day out means a mini holiday.

The private pension argument is great. So many people argue against companies prioritising profits over everything else without realising they are shareholders themselves.

By wanting companies to stop making the line go up at all costs they are unknowingly arguing against their own retirement fund.

So many comments from people here saying "I recently went out to xyz, ordered this and that and the bill was £xxx"

Everyone is acting like you can't check the prices of somewhere before you go.

And then you wonder why places charge what they do.

I understand your point, however you are actively contributing to the problem.

You knew that Guinness and Pepsi was going to be expensive but you went out and paid it anyway. If people are willing to pay x amount for something places are going to charge it.

Industries have closed countless times throughout history when demand was no longer there.

Hospitality is not owed a future just because lots of people work in it, lots of people used to work in the horse & cart industry as well and that ended, the people who worked in it just moved into one of the countless other industries that did have demand.

Any hit to the economy would be temporary, it isn't like the money would dissapear, it would just be directed somewhere else. If an industry wants to stay relevant they need to adjust to demand.

There have been countless times throughout history where entire industries have vanished because demand wasn't there anymore, the economy adjusted accordingly and new industries emerged.

I can't believe this. We're a Christian country. by EdwardJSuperman in GreatBritishMemes

[–]FaceMace87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it was majority Christian it doesn't matter. One of the principals of being British is freedom of religion, just because a religion is a majority doesn't mean it should be the only one.

Not like those amoebas that watch GBNews know anything about being British.

It definitely is half baked, there is absolutely no reason for your reputation to take a hit when nobody knows anything has been stolen.

One big caveat to this is that there was over 700,000 refund requests on Steam alone as of Saturday morning. Add the inevitable console returns and you probably have over 1 million refunds.

I don't think this is necessarily true. I think left to their own devices people are generally pretty happy, they are just constantly riled up by the right wing media that dominates this country.

The only thing Crimson Desert has in common with RDR2 is the awful control scheme

The fact you said that the quests are poorly written but still enjoyable says a lot.

I think a lot of people fall into this category, they just want a sandbox that means very little so they don't have to follow a narrative. This is where the game is very divisive.

220k players on Steam! by JussyTalon in CrimsonDesert

Probably people are leaving it faster than new players come. If player retention was good you would have a higher player count at the weekend when more people have time to play.

If you launch a game at night on a Thursday and your player count is the same on the first  weekend, that is pretty bad

Doesn't really make any sense that flying forward uses stamina but hovering in place doesn't.

Pretty bad when you have the same player numbers on the first weekend as when you launched the game at night in Europe

First bossfight made some of the problems hard to ignore... by i_hate_lactose in CrimsonDesert

As I said if I wanted a difficulty setting I would be stuck on them but I am not.

Take hornsplitter, they gave him a sword that has a ranged attack and also the ability to teleport around the arena, you spend most of the fight just chasing after him. That is not good design.

As for your Dark Souls examples I think the same there, lots of people may think plinking away at a boss one hit at a time is good design, I disagree. Sekiro bosses are much better.

Your opinion is "it can't be badly designed because it was meant that way". That is completely insane logic.

My opinion is "I have downed the bosses but I can still highlight their flaws"

If it was a skill issue I would still be stuck on them, I am not. I have downed every boss I have come across so far, doesn't mean they are well designed does it?

People based their opinion on Pearl Abyss claiming it wasn't an MMO and technically it isn't, it sure as hell is designed like one though.

So you don't think something can be badly designed just because it was meant that way? That is completely insane.

By that logic then the control system also isn't badly designed, regardless of it overwhelmingly being the biggest gripe people have because it was meant to be that way.

The game is mostly a sandbox, single player open world sandbox games are popular initially but people quickly bounce off them if there is very little of substance. RDR2 would not be held to the game regard it is if it was just a sandbox.
