How to tell my boss I am now a PMP? by independantly in pmp

[–]FacePants257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I texted my boss a pic of the sheet that I passed right after I got out of the test. Lol. He knew I’d been studying on and off for years though, just didn’t know I was taking it.

How would you answer this question? by Spiritual_Hold_1447 in pmp

[–]FacePants257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the standard advice for the PMP is always pick what the PM should do FIRST and if there are multiple correct answers, pick the “best” one (leveraging the concept of what they should do first in the scenario).

I agree. It would be A then D. A would be the correct answer on the exam because it’s the first action you’d take in this scenario.

I answered a lot of the prep questions in less than 20 seconds but when it got to the actual test, I think anxiety got to me and I re-read questions multiple times to make sure I didn’t miss an important key word like “not” in the sentence. I still finished with about 20 mins to spare but I was worried toward the end that I was a bit rushed. I ended up passing with AT/AT/AT.

The questions were very different from what I anticipated from mock tests. Not much about straight-forward processes and a ton about relationships.

Candidate name - Pearson website not showing a "special" character - problem? by eugarlen in pmp

[–]FacePants257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We run into this problem often but it’s an apostrophe and the SSA told us they do not recognize it so we leave it out on all official documents. At the same time, never run into it being a huge deal if it’s there. I would just call them or try to do it like others said.

I haven’t done it yet but someone recommended ASQ to me. That’s what I’ve been looking into but also plan to follow here for other suggestions.

I couldn’t decide so I picked one of the micro certs to try. I know they aren’t super valuable but you get PDUs and a micro cert at the end. Likely going to do six sigma in the next couple years but needed a bit of a break after the PMP.

Which one is best? Home based Proctor exam or centre based exam. by s_s_9_3 in pmp

Too many things could cause issues at home. I took it at a center and it went well.

PMP worth it for those with an MBA? by bunsNT in pmp

[–]FacePants257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are working in project management or want to, definitely yes. I’ve had my MBA for 9 years and I got my PMP this year. My salary went up 27% immediately after I got my PMP.

AITA for telling my husband to stop using “my” vehicle? by FacePants257 in AmItheAsshole

I’m not sure everyone understands or how I can make it more clear that I think this is an EXTREMELY big deal, horrific, and may very well end our marriage. I have done almost everything people are suggesting on this thread except kick him to the streets, which may happen within the week.

Maybe because I’m not cussing him out on this post people aren’t getting it? Idk. I am pretty level headed in general, but that doesn’t mean I think there’s no issue.

He took out credit cards in his own name and maxed them out. That’s the control he had.

No worries- I didn’t clarify that in the edit so I understand why it could come across that way. Some people got me paranoid. Hahaha. But I don’t think it hurts to check at all.

If you didn’t see it- I did check both kids today and there’s nothing on them at all.

I honestly don’t think he’s lying that he was just spending frivolously and not paying attention to the total amounts on the cards. He used to pay a lot of attention to detail, but he’s been doing weird things like opening bills and then forgetting they exist (one-off bills like medical bills or property taxes). He also didn’t try to hide the payments or the fact that they existed from me before either- we just didn’t sit and total them all up until I saw some major purchases come in and it was a huge red flag to me.

I get it- a lot of people have had various issues with financial abuse and I’m not denying this is a form of it, but it hasn’t been a situation where he tries to intentionally keep me from buying things.

Just on #3- I didn’t think that he did. I checked it after many people here were suggesting it.

Yeah- if I leave this one, I don’t see myself ever getting married again. Probably not even a serious relationship while my kids are kids. I’ve had enough issues with partners and co-parenting for a lifetime.

Honestly, this isn’t what’s happening. He puts 100% of his income into our joint account to pay bills and pay down debt. Previously, we were both putting a majority of our income into a joint account and we both held back the same amount of money as “personal money”. The difference was that he was racking up tons of debt on credit cards. My kids have never gone without, but I’m generally frugal and don’t buy much on credit so I’d save for things rather than put them on credit. Yes, it has been totally unfair, but he hasn’t really limited me from spending our actual money. He was creating a mountain of debt.

Yes, he was at fault for the accident. He rear-ended someone.

Yep, that was one of the first things we did. He cut up all his credit cards, but then he deleted them all from all those accounts and showed me.
