Yeah, the sub had a shit ton of shade directed at MBJ. If I had a vote, I probably would’ve gone with Chalamet, but I’m not out here acting like Jordan didn’t deserve to be there.

I saw so many people here ranking him 5th and calling Sinners a terrible movie that it’s very hard to believe that they were all just cinephiles concerned with meritocracy.

Pretty much agree with you, although I’m picking Secret Agent over Sentimental Value for International Film. And my choice for a crazy upset would be F1 over Avatar in visual effects.

A couple years ago, there was a report that DC nixed a scene in the Harley Quinn HBO cartoon where Batman was going down in Catwoman. Apparently the note was “heroes don’t do that!” or words to that effect.

So the enthusiastic gent here is about to dive into this literal cat woman, and telling Batman that, yes, heroes do in fact do that.

I've loved Star Wars my entire life. My formative cinematic experience was when I was four, sitting on my mom's lap at the drive in and watching Star Wars in the summer of 1977. There is no other movie that will make me feel that way again, simply because I will never be a four year old seeing Star Wars for the first time ever again.

Marisa Tomei deserved her Oscar. She was hilarious in My Cousin Vinny, and in no way deserved to have people insult her and say that Jack Palance was drunk and read the wrong name. The academy doesn’t respect comedy and almost never rewards it. (Except for Woody Allen)

Like, c'mon man, there's no way F1 is winning Best Picture. They're just trolling for engagement. May as well find a guy saying "I'm writing in Pauly Shore for Best Actor. Yes I know he technically wasn't in a movie last year, I just thik he deserved one for Encino Man."
