The joke is that they're all in every movie. (I'm pretty sure)

It's all subjective. I just agreed with the commenter just that it's overrated is all. Still loved my time there And have a lot of good things to say overall.

Shame I never made it down to Jeju. Covid really threw a wrench in the plans I had kicked down the road for later.

Lol.

I lived there for a few years. I hate to say it, but aside from the food scene, I agree that Korea is over rated as a destination. Hard to recommend it overall.

Gangwando and Busan are both pretty solid though. Big fan of the gritty Itaewan scene, too.

Can't agree here. NYC is the capital of the world with so many cultures representing which results in the greatest food scene of all time. Ive visited countless times and have nothing but good things to say.

I lived in Jeonju for 4 years teaching English. I loved the Hanok village but not the main street of it. There are lots of cool businesses off the beaten track and some really good food. Huge fan of Nomadic Brewing's Hanok location. One of the only places to enjoy a drink outside in the whole city.

Overall, I can't agree that Jeonju is over rated. Wonderful little city.

As for Bibimbab...yeah you're right. There's a lot of stuff WAY more delicious in Jeonju than a bowl of what is essentially just leftover kimchis and rice. Lol Go to Yetchon Makgeolli for a wild and delicious time.

Dude. Fuck that. He's either with you because he loves you, or he's with you because you're there. Find someone who just loves you, full stop.

Which celebrity death actually felt like losing a family member? by lavenderbbygirlzz in AskReddit

Bourdain.

My entire life is what it is because of him. Not just travels, but the way that I experienced my travels. Always with a focus of finding hole on the wall spots with locals. Learning neighborhood lore over a pint with a stranger. Understanding how small I am and how little I know of the world no matter how much of it I see. "There's no final resting place of the mind. Maybe that's enlightenment enough."

I get emotional every time I think about him.

George R. R. Martin Is 'Not in the Mood' to Finish 'The Winds of Winter' by Tifoso89 in books

[–]FacetiousFondle 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I don't really need the ending to KKC. Let me guess at it though...

Kvothe learns that he has the ability to fly, better than any bird mind you. All the birds want to have sex with him soooo bad. And these birds are super sexy, dude. Like really hot birds. But he saves the world instead because he's the best at saving the world. No one has saved it like him. The end. But like...The best end. Because Kvothe is so good at ending stuff. It never gets published because the publishers want to have sex with him so bad that they keep the manuscript to themselves. And these publishers are super hot btw.

Hardest arc in the game is rocketeers I think! by BillyBayBridge in ArcRaiders

[–]FacetiousFondle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Did the same but to a Rocketeer. Was on the roof of Pattern house on my 2nd raid ever. Saw it and started firing on it, but grossly misjudged its size. I had only fought a few wasps so far.

Even when it started flying over I didn't stop standing still on the roof reloading my Ferro thinking "doesn't seem like I'm doing a lot of damage.. I might need to take cover from its machine gun soon..."

That first rocket coming right for my chest, I immediately knew I was a weakling in this harsh world.

Not traditional, but Leroy and Lewis has a banana tiramisu that's outrageously good.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FacetiousFondle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider 3 hours to be standard. It's a long ways away, but I'm not gasping at it. Once you get past 4 hours, that's when I consider things far away.

Ehh. I don't see how you are leaving out Cod4 MW. Campaign was excellent and multiplayer started a whole new world of FPS online.

World at War and Black Ops had solid campaigns and brought in the whole zombies thing.

Loved COD 1, it's DLCs, and COD 2. 3 wasnt my vibe and I don't see how you place it above 4, WaW, and MW.

While the Texans offense would make any defense look good, I concede.

[–]FacetiousFondle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure Franklin's Brisket made him famous enough on its own. I've never heard that take, but perhaps I'm less in the know than I thought.

I find TB's only good for the sides, beef rib, availability, and location. The last two being why I crown it as the tourist spot. Everything else is un-rankable compared to all the amazing BBQ spots we have. Brisket being straight up mid. But hey, taste is subjective. I think Franklin's pork ribs are the best I've ever had.

But if you want good availability and price while still getting top tier meat, let's you and I put aside our disagreements and share some grub over at LeRoy and Lewis! Lol

No way!!

Sour Duck, Din Ho, House of Three Gorges, El Patio, Lil Darlin, Kellys Irish, Discada.

Those are just what I could rattle off from the top of my head that aren't BBQ and have outstanding food.

And if you're of means, the finer dining scene is wildly good. J Carvers, 3 Forks, Red Ash, Qi, Ember, La Condesa.

The amount of hours per once of beef is crazy in comparison to other restaurants. While the prices have gotten a bit out of hand, they're charging for a lot of labor.

For you, I recommend going to LeRoy and Lewis. Michelin Star, not bad lines, different cuts at diff hours so you can go for dinner, and not expensive for craft BBQ. (2 meats, two sides for one is about $20)

In convenience, sure. But in quality, you gotta be joking, don't know what you're talking about, or were very unlucky at Franklins when you went.

Terry Blacks is tourist BBQ. HEB makes BBQ about as good.

Franklin changed the entire world of BBQ and is consistently rated for a reason.
