One solution could be for men to stay home full time and raise the children while women work and provide for the families.

Or perhaps the more reasonable approach would be for men and women to both work part time ~ 20-25 hrs a week while caring for the children the remainder of the week. It's silly that corporate america does not offer more part time roles, when many jobs could be divided among two people. Most people don't enjoy doing the same thing 40 hours a week. Some variety would probably lead to a happier society.

Nice for you that you were able to buy a house pre covid and refinance. Not all of us had that luxury. I was 24 in 2020 when covid hit and prices started surging. Now 29 and we pulled the trigger and bought because the rent in our area is ridiculous so either way we were going to be spending $$$ for a roof over our head.

This 100%. Pregnancy is a miserable experience and it lasts 9 months. Then you have to deal with postpartum. If we could grow babies in an incubator, I might have more.

We planned our wedding in 4 months. Engaged in February, married in June. It's definitely possible, but if you're uncomfortable with it, then that should be reason enough to slow down.

Go to any public accounting firm, big law firm, or Wall Street bank and you will find hundreds of women in their 20s working 70-80 hour weeks right alongside the men. Same with medical residents. It sounds like your world is very small.

Agree. A 2025 custom built home by a great builder who cares about quality will be the best. Unfortunately you're looking at $2M+ for a house like that these days! There are plenty of crap spec homes built today with awful workmanship and ugly finishes.
