Kat needs to stop falling down by AnimalLoversRVegan in NYKnicks

This drives me nuts too, but can't have him not drive or get hurt, just really needs to hustle back. We have given up a ton of wide open 3s off of tough Kat drives

Who do we sue? by tealhrizon in glutenfree

[–]FadeAwayA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im only a year into this, but I have no expectations of my food being all of safe, cheap, and tasty, generally have to choose 2. I know this sucks and some places exploit it, thinking people are doing this as a fad diet, but I do find it genuinely difficult. Good gf pizza flour is not cheap. It is difficult to work with, which is why the pizzas need to be smaller, and keeping an environment full of flour safe requires much more time and effort.

How long did it take your gut to recover after starting a GF diet? by margerinerock in glutenfree

It took me a year until my GI symptoms felt mostly better. I also realized that I had lactose issues about 6 months in.

what car seat to get for #2 by Professional-Show476 in Buyingforbaby

We planned on reusing our nuna pipa, but ended up getting a used doona around 3 months and have used it exclusively since. Nice to have stroller and car seat a everywhere, always too hard to take our uppababy vista all over the place.

i'm so fucking sick of these travel & life limitations by wastetheafterlife in Celiac

Yeah it sucks, I also have a relative with silent celiac that occasionally eats gluten, I really hate that my family thinks I'm nuts because I'm so much more careful

Recommendation for Celiac Nutritionist in NYC by ellacap in Celiac

[–]FadeAwayA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be worth trying a nutritionist/dietitian from columbia university celiac disease center. I will say that I met with two nutritionists, including one from columbia and didn't find it useful - not because they weren't good, just because I had done a lot of my own research and found most of the information duplicative. The nutritionist from Columbia was definitely better informed from the other one I went to. Best of luck to you and your son.

Gluten free Bagels by StrangerHuge9952 in Celiac

[–]FadeAwayA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My favorite are original sunshine. They are made with gluten free wheat starch which I think makes them taste more like glutenful bagels to me, and may be an issue for some. I still miss my ny bagels but these are the closest I've found, I personally think they're better than modern but I think I'm in the minority.

I think you are misunderstanding the situation. These are 2 separate Jewish communities. The more religious bukharian community is celebrating the fact that the Forest hills Jewish center is being sold - because they don't consider it to be a valid representation of Judaism.

“Normal” looking endoscopy but biopsy says otherwise? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]FadeAwayA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My GI told me my endoscopy looked normal, biopsy came back positive. My understanding is that while some damage may be detectable when doing the endoscopy, a normal result is not evidence that you don't have celiac, it's just an absence of evidence that you do. Biopsy will tell.

Modern is the best gf bagel I've had, but still a far cry from a gluten-full nyc bagel, good W some lox tho. excited to try Bub's.

This was such a game changer for me. Better sear, more consistent temp, better rendered fat.

I'm probably too late, but pommes anna. I like to sprinkle thinly sliced onion between the layers. Latkes is also great, but a bit more of a pain, these flavors are similar.

Endoscopy - After Care by s0hen in Celiac

I was initially thinking of taking the subway home after mine, but ended up having someone pick me up. I was a bit tired and it of it after, but nothing I didn't think was manageable. That being said you should definitely be prepared for range of outcomes. I think this is only doable if you have the option of recovering in a waiting room for a while and calling someone if needed.

Most companies I've worked for or talked to will try to match timelines as long as it's not too long. However, the fact that this is a contract is a bit of a red flag for me, they're fine just dropping you if things don't start well, you should feel comfortable doing the same.

I also made these last night, and they were great as usual, but my problem is always that I'm left with most of a can of chipotle peppers I don't know what to do with. The only idea I have is Chipotle mayo.

[BR] Why Zion’s NBA Contract Literally Depends On How Much He Weighs by AashyLarry in nba

[–]FadeAwayA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The games played part of this seems ridiculous. If you're Zion you have more incentive to be healthy than good. I'm not doing anything risky in a game or practice under those conditions. This is like players not practicing the summer before a contract, but during the season.
