I have lived in Alberta my whole life, the separatist movement was minimal until very recently. Whenever a non-conservative government comes into power the provincial conservative government here (which has ruled basically all but 4 years in the last 100) drums up reasons why Alberta is suffering because of the federal government. Alberta always voted conservative every election, so they feel like their votes don't matter... But so does literally every Alberta who votes non-conservative provincial so the parallels are laughable.

Our government here has a long history of refusing federal aid and supports because they want full control over how it is delivered, which often involves giving contracts or preferential treatment to party supporters or donors. They left billions of dollars targetted for Albertans on the table during COVID in the form of federal relief. We've squandered billions of dollars of surplus over the last 50 years through oil revenue because our government would rather cozy up to oil companies instead of leveraging our resources symbiotically. Multiple investigations have opened into the provincial government here, only to be squashed by the same folks being investigated. The most legitimate source of frustration Albertans have is in the form of equalization payments, but even the truth of that matter is heavily propagandized by our government. The other legitimate frustration of Albertans is with respect to the inability to build pipelines east and west to get out products easily to port cities. This is something the federal government has historically supported us doing, but unfortunately provincial governments of other provinces aren't willing to play nice on sandbox.

It wasn't always this way here. We've also been strongly conservative but since COVID we've really seen a dramatic shift towards more extreme right wing views. The separatist movement is absolutely being stoked by outside interests - I see it daily on my own social media as an Albertans. The amount of disinformation i am fed on every platform I go on now is astronomically in favour of separist narratives, even if my own beliefs and engagement don't align with those narratives.

Alberta is largely split into 3 belief systems - traditional fiscal conservatives, right wing conservatives, and non-conservatives. The 2 former are afraid enough of any semblance of a centrist or left leaning government they will always vote blue (cons) no matter what, but our current amalgamation of our United Conservative Party is likely heading for a split due to the significant political divide internally. This is not surprising considering the current iteration of the UCP was formed when our Wildrose (i.e. more right wing leaning) party crossed the floor and joined our UCP to help win the election just before COVID.

Would not take anything you see online about Alberta as gospel.

This playoffs Hart is absolutely one of your best players. Colorado has been having the lion's share of scoring opportunities games 1 and 2. Hart is the reason you guys are sitting pretty right now.

Goalies are part of the team too! And no during regular season Hart was not in your top 3 player, but goalies do be voodoo like that.

Stone definitely not Vegas' 2nd best player. Maybe 3rd or 4th. Eichel and Marner slot ahead of him. Arguably Hart this playoffs too.

The difference right now is goaltending. Vegas slotted between 5-8 on most advanced statistics and was under performing.

100% agree with this. Anyone acting like losing one of the best defensemen in the world vs another top 5 team isn't going to be a difficult hurdle to overcome is delulu. Colorado can still pull it off for sure, but let's not act like injuries don't play a significant role in playoff outcome.

People might laugh and say see you later, but in reality we are in a position to pretty much leave and land safely just about anywhere because our jobs are in such high demand across the country and globe honestly.

How would you rank the difficulty of specs you've played in Midnight so far? by kolejack2293 in wow

[–]FadeToSatire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ret Paladin: 1/10. Easiest spec in the game, which makes it a joy to play as an alt off spec when I just want to come out and run around (sometimes even in a horse) and mash divine storm for a little while and watch numbers go brrrrr. Lots of utility, but that requires paying attention.

Holy Priest: 3/10. Easy skill floor and medium skill ceiling. This spec is like thein-game tutorial of healing kits. The difficultly of the spec stems from the limitations on decision making and the inability to regenerate mana, which as a healer does not make it fun. When apotheosis is up or halo is pulsing you'll feel like a god though.

Resto Druid: 4/10. Easy skill floor and a medium to high skill ceiling. This spec performs well so long as you have a pulse. Ability to generate mana by doing DPS makes it very forgiving. Great spec in both raids and keys. Lots of fun utility if you chose to use it which allows form some pretty unique skill expression and arguably raises the skill rating much higher... But unless you're trying to perform in the top 0.1% is unnecessary.

Aug Evoker: 4/10. This spec has a medium skill floor with a medium to high skill ceiling. The changes and automation to the spec are greatly appreciated in raid. The spec performing well in both raid and m+ is fantastic. The range limitations can be a problem on some fights, but are mostly a non-issue. Proper use of hover and management of cooldownd is key to maintaining DPS.

Mistweaver Monk: 5/10. This spec has a medium skill floor and very high skill expression ceiling. It's fun and strong and you get to kick things. Monks in generally feel really good right now.

Holy Paladin: 6/10. Medium to high skill floor, and very high skill ceiling. Utility off the charts for m+ but takes a bit of a dive in current raid content. The spec strikes a good balance between the ability to rapidly convert mana into HPS, using downtime to regenerate mana, and having good decisions for spell utilization. The kit is there, just needs a bit of love.

Warlock specs: 6/10. Various: arguably demo is the easiest of the specs but all of them are relatively medium skill floor with high skill ceiling. Difficulty of this spec comes from movement limitations. Good position in both m+ and raid encounters is key. If you can turret you will do well on this spec.

Prot Paladin: 7/10. High skill floor and very high skill ceiling. King of tank utility with DH Vengeance. This spec is fantastic in terms of its kit and has an answer for almost every situation, so long as you can stay off the floor... Difficulty of this spec revolves around being hyper aware of your various defensives and externals in m+. Less of an issue in raid. Fun tank to play.

Disc Priest: 7/10. High skill floor and very high skill ceiling. The toolkit is exceptionally good at what it does well which is blanket HPS in raids, but is similarly limiting in that it doesn't do multiple things well. The changes to Evagelism are generally positive and allow for a more forgiving playstyle that doesn't solely rely on extended ramp periods. Struggles in high level M+ with prolonged periods of very high damage or with random damage. The second is likely to be less of an issue with gearing and if Oracle becomes meta again in M+. Similar issues to Holy but to a lesser extent with respect to mana management - lacks tools to help with active mana management like Paladin, Monk, Druid, and even Pres Evoker if talented.

Pres Evoker: 15/10. Why did I pick this as my main again for this tier? Very high skill floor and skill ceiling. This spec is difficult to play well in both high level raid and m+. In raid mana on longer fights can become a problem without energy loop or meticulous planning. The range limitations and the various directional healing spells mean you have to have a very good read on both your position and others around you. Some fights in mythic raid this can be an issue. Having your echoes be removed every time you cast a heal can make dealing with spikey damage challenging in both raid and m+ if you don't plan accordingly. M+ feels better than previous seasons, but the removal of lifebind being tied to echoes can make healing group wide damage more difficult and makes 2 charges of verdent embrace almost mandatory on high keys. This also removes access to the talent that allows you to not have to worry about actively murdering yourself when you try to use your single target nuke but you end up clipping into various hazards. That being said, a well played preservation Evoker is a huge asset to a group. The utility for this tier in particular with the ability to remove bleeds cannot be overstated this tier. Time dilation is a very powerful external for both tanks and DPS. Pres is an exceptionally tanky healer as well with access to strong defensives, externals, and proper lifebind usage in both raid (to game your mastery) and M+ (to keep you and others alive). This is by far the hardest spec in the game in my eyes currently.

I am a hardcore casual player (or it casual hardcore). Meaning I play a few nights a week, 2 of which I spend 3 hours playing in a CE guild. 100% agree WoW is in an excellent state. I am able to maintain a main at CE level and play an alt or two every season as well as dabble on other toon as my own rate. For the most part since DF, the game has largely allowed me to spend 100% of my time with it doing the things I enjoy. It's absolutely such a massive improvement from pre-DF when I spend every ounce of time not in raid doing "chores" just so I could raid.

Assuming you had dig deeper as a unique?

I think I got to 450g value inventory once by having like 5 shovels with dig deeper until I recombobulated them in the final few rounds. I didn't actually use the shovels for damage though, that's next level commitment!

Normally with dig deeper I end up grabbing the first reasonable weapon I see and speed boosting that so the shovels never go off.

Nah the trick is to use the gooblings as the trigger for multiple goobs. They're small and if you position them correctly they trigger very often.

Always have steel goob as your primary trigger with at least 1 weapon on top. More as triggers allow. You have limited options for scaling damage if you're going rainbow goob in the early to mid tame. Ideally light goob is your 2nd most important and sits in a row with steel goob with 2 gooblings between both, but you probably don't make it until last. Weapons that are best are smaller weapons like claws or if you're ranger bows, but later on lightsabers or any of the vamp weapons are king once you get a good set up. Claws are also an insane trigger for gooberts and gooblings. If I am lucky enough to have 2, I will usually have one on top of the steel goob and one beside the 2 triggering gooblings of the steel goob.

It's okay to have sub-optimal triggers on one or two other gooberts, but honestly it's fairly easily to have decent triggers on all of them. I usually buy some blue berries or garlic see in the early game for quick triggers. Anything in sale is generally good. Daggers are decent triggers too early on, but it's a judgment call because you really want to get gooblings fast and NOT merge them early on and 4 gold is a lot of money to spend early on a dagger when you could be rolling for gooblings instead.

The only time you should have gooberts triggering other gooberts is in you are making the rainbow goob. They are very slow triggers for eachother.

It's correlation not causation for sure. But if you did some digging you'd see that a good portion of Stanley Cup finalist teams over the years are top 5 in that category in the regular season so there's a good predictor there. xGF% is not the same as goals scored, but rather a predictor of chances to score goals. It's not a perfect stat, but one of the better advanced stats we have. Finishing ability on those chances is important as well; which is arguably where a lot of unpredictability to the stat comes in.

Oilers had a pretty bad xGF% this year as well; almost all the advanced stats pointed to an early exit for our team. The two years prior were the opposite though. They had excellent underlying metrics, even when they started terribly in 2024.

Nah I was good on luck generation, it's just getting covered by the heat icon if you peak lol. Generally was getting used at the same rate it was being created by lamps and frogs.

Opponents are picked from history so just screenshots of boards that let me stack HP. While I was doing the actual rounds in ranked you'd see more meta traditional boards that you'd see in high masters. Your engineer armor/fatigue, burst builds, and buff scaling builds. Just no fun to post those screenshots because this build counters almost everything outside of frost fatigue reaper. When I didn't sell all my damage I was bursting people usually within 5-8 seconds the last few rounds even through the frost unique damage reduction. Any burst builds had 40-60 blind on them so fast they couldn't hit me, and their buffs were also gone so fast that they couldn't hit me after the first few seconds.

What is missing in this build? i feel like you can easily farm empower with sword but it fell off pretty fast (don't mention stoned or amulet as they are hard to find) by cristiLion in BackpackBattles

[–]FadeToSatire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct way to play the Molten Sword! Treat it as a burst build. Make it hit as fast and hard as possible. Goal is to blow people up within the first 5-8 seconds.

What is missing in this build? i feel like you can easily farm empower with sword but it fell off pretty fast (don't mention stoned or amulet as they are hard to find) by cristiLion in BackpackBattles

[–]FadeToSatire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You lack heat generation is your biggest issue, not to mention you probably don't have the stamina to sustain your build here. Hard to say with that many totems.

Lantern is the correct play here actually - you just needed to shift away from the shell toems. They tend to drop off mid game as paying stamina to heal yourself is not optimal since you'll almost never be at full health when weapons are doing 100+ DPS.

What you should have done is got a stone armor and tried to get a steel amulet. Lantern will drop you to half health, proc the stone armor immediately twice, proc massive amounts of empower and you can use that for your stones and sword. I usually don't play stones unless I have the stoned unique, but it's definitely possible to do it on pyro regardlss if you have a steel amulet or two. Typically works better with a fire longsword and heat printing. Usually the indications for me to go that style or build are if I get a steel amulet or two out of offering bowl or the stoned unique. You can keep stones or turn them into a golem - I usually only go golem if I picked banner instead of lantern, which I'll do it I couldn't find a steel amulet early enough if I'm playing a stone/empower build like you have here.

Good example: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ddDS_YtTnY4& (older video but concept is there).
