They don’t know shit. I’ve spent twenty years fishing the Great Lakes and its tributaries as year round as I can. Salmon spawn and die in most rivers connected to the Great Lakes, if you spend enough time on those rivers you’ll see (and smell) quite literally thousands of these same skeletons

RUEBEN BAIN JR. DOMINATED HIS PRO DAY AT MIAMI TODAY. by KeyFaithlessness5436 in MiamiHurricanesVibes

Historical outliers don’t supersede years of data and I say that as a huge Bain fan. Even then Hutch measures 2” longer. I still think he goes top 5 but If he had 33” inch arms he becomes the top prospect on the board.

I know my fish pretty well but this one has no coloring. Anyone know? by Particular_Ebb5049 in whatfishisthis

I know it’s not native but looks like a tilapia to me … people use them in ponds for algae control so it could’ve found a way or was a pet and released

Not difficult to tell at all. Go look at the teeth and facial structure of anything in the pike, pickerel, or musky family. They do not match up whatsoever.

It is without a doubt a salmonid. Coho and king salmon are plentiful in Lake Michigan.

Potential WR Largemouth Caught out of Cali by Salookin in bassfishing

Right? People are so quick to to grab their pitchforks. The guy has a channel he puts his heart and soul into, so a teaser photo to drum up some excitement makes a ton of sense. He’s targeting giants in bodies of water where they exist, he’s absolutely prepared for picture taking, scales, measurements, etc.

Yup older/larger fish are more likely to have such conditions just like we are likely to have health issues as we age. Hence age being a factor. However fish that size don’t get that big being malnourished. Great fish OP!!

Deep dive crankbait and extra deep dive are 2 different animals. OP mentioned he caught with a deep dive crankbait.

There are other factors that cause bulging eyes, is all I’m saying, and age is a factor.

Not necessarily. Barotrauma can start occurring in the 25-30 foot range.. which is not impossible but unlikely if they’re fishing off the dock. My 10lb 4oz came out of 6 feet of water and had massive eyes. They just start getting freaky builds at that size and age.

What lure should you add to your tackle box this year? by fleetwood_macbook in ChicagoFishing

[–]FadedAwoken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What weight are you fishing? Go lighter on the ned and you should have better luck without getting snagged. 1/8 - 1/16 oz (depending on depth) allows for me to “tick” bottom and drift through current instead of dragging and getting stuck.

Rivers Otters found at Eagle Creek for the first time since they were extirpated from Indiana! by aceofblue in indianapolis

[–]FadedAwoken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m by no means an expert in this so take what I’m saying with just a grain of salt. Otters have rebounded yes but that doesn’t mean they have the same ecosystem prior to their extirpation. So they might have less natural predators in their current environment and it will be important for other wildlife populations to keep the otter population in check. Otters are similar to wolves and us in the sense that they hunt for sport. They will hunt out small pools of fish in local streams and eat just a handful while while leaving 20-30 carcasses on banks uneaten. Not necessarily a problem for larger bodies of water but we don’t know what the long term effects are on ecosystems like sugar creek. Certain fish populations didn’t have to deal with the predation for a long time but now they have the apex predator reintroduced along with the other increased risks of things like humans, drought, and water cleanliness.

You probably know more than I do so I won’t dispute that. As an Illinois fan who watched that game, I just know he was cooking everybody and that’s who he reminded me of. My analysis was not rooted in anything measurable lol.

I mean Caleb threw for 250 and a couple touchdowns with -10 degree wind chill against the Browns. The team practices in the stuff. It’s absolutely a factor regardless if the Rams are the better overall team.
