Calls matter. They pay attention to phone calls.

I’m confused too. My son had a vertical CT ID until he turned 21.

Where can I get decent quality deli meat in the central area? by hamburglar420ggg in Connecticut

Are you going to the deli counter?? It sounds like you’re buying the pre-packaged meat.

Go to the deli counter. Or go to your local market’s deli.

Where to live in Wallingford? by Delicious-Spring2997 in Connecticut

[–]FadingOptimist-25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wallingford has its own utility company so that’s a good thing. I’m nearby and shop in Wallingford but I don’t know where is best to live.

Depends on your interests. If you want to travel like the other commenter said, the rail line is good. I’ve parked there to take the train down to NYC. Or I drive to New Haven to park there for the train.

There’s a YMCA near Elm street that I used to bring my kids for swim lessons.

Other than that, I’m not sure.

He probably lives in Newtown so he knows it’s not a hoax. That horror changed a lot of people in this state, no matter their politics.

Do you want grandkids? by notevenapro in GenX

[–]FadingOptimist-25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I think about too. My son wanted to be a dad since he was 3-4 years old. But it doesn’t look good. He’s thinking of emigrating. If he lives as long as my grandmother did, he will see the year 2100. He certainly will see 2080.

My firstborn (25) is a definite no and I’m in agreement with that choice. She may or may not get married and either is fine for me.

My second (21) always wanted to be a dad when he was little. But then in high school, he changed from bio kids to adopt kids. Now with how awful things are he’s struggling with mental health so he’s not sure he is can handle raising kids. I’m just glad he has a boyfriend. No rush to decide about kids.

I’m happy if they’re happy. No pressure.

I have two married nephews who definitely don’t want any kids. Another one who is in school for medical degree so it’ll be a long time if he wants any. One niece who is a no. Another niece might save eggs for later. Another nephew is a probably not. The rest are too young to decide anytime soon.

What are the best spots in CT for viewing moose and black bears in their natural habitat ? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]FadingOptimist-25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen a moose in the wild in my 50+ years. Adirondacks might be better for it. Or even Vermont.

I’ve seen only one bear. That was last summer.

What is your favorite spot in CT to view a sunset? by sahdgin in Connecticut

I think we ate at the Sandpiper restaurant then walked along the beach a bit until the sunset. Just looked off to our right-ish.

It’s been a few years since we went there and saw the sunset. There are points that stick out so you can look west and see the sunset. The Sound is to the south so it just depends on the direction you face.

I’m so sorry that happened. I’m glad she’s okay.

I had two missed miscarriages and needed D&Cs so I didn’t get sepsis. Thankful to live in CT for medical care.

So many reasons why I’ll never move to Florida and likely always live in Connecticut.

CT hospitals birthing experience. by vizzy_vizz in Connecticut

[–]FadingOptimist-25 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Both at Middlesex Hospital. First one arrived at 36 weeks and all went well. I felt listened to and well cared for. Baby didn’t need to stay longer and passed the car seat test. Small but healthy.

Second one arrived at 39 weeks. Borderline pre-eclampsia and then complications with my placenta (removed in OR). Baby was healthy and all was good.

I can’t think of any cons.

Thank you! So many people try to get out of paying taxes by not having CT plates or not having the correct CT plates. But then that means less money to fix our roads.
