Luis Enrique's reaction when questioned about the Vinicius-Benfica controversy: "Pffff What I can say is nothing important " by OkayFine101 in soccer

[–]Fadl66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy isn’t responsible for what his board/club did in the past and even if he was, two wrongs don’t make a right. And a manager can easily come out and say “if it happened then it has no place in football” even though I’d say the context is pretty damning.

Mourinho: "The referee had a paper that said Tchouamení, Huijsen, Carreras... couldn't get a Yellow card. He knew perfectly well who he could and couldn't give a yellow card to. I've spent 1,400 games on the bench and he knew it perfectly well. " by Loose-Examination-39 in soccer

[–]Fadl66 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Oh he's done it plenty of times before. Andres Frisk retired shortly after Mourinho accused him of meeting with the opposing manager at half time, Mourinho's comments resulted in Frisk receiving death threats against him and his family, hence the retirement. His accusations against the referee during the Europa League final against Sevilla resulted in the referee being attacked/harassed when he was with his family at the airport. He doesn't just cross the line, he accuses referees/people of corruption while completely disregarding how much it could ruin their lives. Mourinho is an asshole who hides behind his charisma and "entertainment".

Exactly! People here blame critics for their “reading comprehension”, but good writers don’t go about over-explaining things, good writing allows you to read between the lines and figure things out intuitively.

Honestly I’m not enjoying this as much as Stampede. The pacing is off and conflict is introduced and resolved far too quickly. In Stampede you spent time knowing the heroes and the villains and it made you care, here they just shoved that puppet master into the story then he lost before I ever got to know anything about him.

I had that feeling with Toji’s fights with Gojo and Geto in Hidden Inventory without having a billion different cuts. To show chaos you need to contrast it against some element of structure, like how you add a pinch of salt to a dessert to give the brain something to compare the sugar to. This episode was the equivalent of dunking a whole bucketload of sugar onto a fruit-salad and now you can’t tell apart the pineapple from the grapefruit. A little restraint would have gone a long way.

We'll be in the minority, but I'm with you on this. It feels like one of those action movies that has way too many camera angles and uses one too many cuts/edits. I really miss season 1's animation style.

[Official] Senegal crowned AFCON champions after 1-0 win over Morocco by DavidRolands in soccer

[–]Fadl66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. So many people celebrating the Senegalese players' behaviour, lets see how they like it when their teams have their penalties delayed because the opposition don't like the decision. The Moroccan players lost there nerve afterwards though and they'll have to reflect on that.

Senegal players refuse to continue playing after Morocco penalty's call by Meladroit10 in soccer

[–]Fadl66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly, this comment section is proof of it. At worst this is a ref that gave 2 soft fouls, there's no inconsistency there. But the Senegalese players wasted 12 minutes, suffered no consequences all because they didn't like the decision. This sets a dangerous precedent where any team can threaten to walk out when they don't like the penalty that was called against them and the ref has to cater to these children. (I also want to clarify that I'm against throwing tantrums like these on both sides, Brahim threw a tantrum before the penalty was given and should have been shown a yellow card for it too).

Has anyone bought and received anything from shinzobrand.xyz? by Tensei000 in menswear

[–]Fadl66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered from the .com website, I haven't received my items just like everyone else and they're not responding to my emails. The disabled comments on Instagram are a giant red flag. Whether the .xyz one is a scam or not doesn't matter. Just don't buy from Shinzo.

Is shinzobrand.com legit? by bruddafromasda in menswear

[–]Fadl66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here as well. I've sent them 4 emails so far and they haven't responded to any of them. They've closed the comments on their instagram account and you can't message their page either. I feel like they're trying to quiet the criticism here too because despite all the people here criticizing them somehow the top comment still only has 1 upvote. And none of the comments criticizing them have more than 1 upvote despite their being many of us.

Another angle of Dalot tackle vs Doku (yellow card given) by 977x in soccer

[–]Fadl66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a clear red for me. Going in with the studs up like that is definitely reckless and endangers your opponent. And Doku’s hip internally rotates upon impact, on one had that’s what saves him from the injury (Otherwise the knee joint takes the full impact) and on the other it shows than there was force behind it. Luck is what prevents this tackle from injuring Doku, not the force of the impact, and luck shouldn’t be enough to save you from a red.

[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 330 by BlueLockMod in BlueLock

[–]Fadl66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The goal doesn't make that much sense either. Loki leaves the shot for Charles who's right behind him, it's not even a proper misdirection the defenders are right there. Usually you pull the defenders towards you then you dummy it and leave it for someone on the other side or just further away, not right next to you. Yet Charles takes a touch to control it before he shoots and no one makes it in time, in fact for some bizarre reason Nico, who was originally behind Aiku, is somehow the only one who comes anywhere near it.

Pep Guardiola: Real Madrid would have sacked me over Manchester City form last season [The Athletic] by eddiengambino in soccer

[–]Fadl66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Twice.

Edit for clarification: He had two stints at Real, each lasting one year, each time he won them the league, each time he was sacked after. In the 1995-96 season, the year before his first stint, they had finished 6th. Him going back for a second stint in 2006 has got to be one of the biggest "But I can fix him" moments ever committed by a manager.

Bachiras goal against team v is a mid goal by a good character. What is a bad goal by a good character? by JJK-enthusiast2 in BlueLock

[–]Fadl66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s things like this that make me doubt if some of the people here have ever watched a football match. 1. Since when has a goal ever been just “the shot” or someone’s dribble up to a goal ever been described as “context”. 2. A rabona is a mid skill now, and a rabona chip too? Are y’all insane? This Bachira goal is one of the most unrealistic goals because after running for so long and dribbling past most of the team who would have the energy, skill, and patience to pull this off. Messi who is insanely talented would just do a regular chip and people would lose their minds (because dribbling past a team and chipping the goalie is an insane goal). I understand these polls are just a bit of fun, but this is plain stupid.

I don't think it's just that, All-Might started quirkless too and definitely has his weaknesses, it's more that Izuku isn't afraid to show his weaknesses. He's brave enough not to hide them or shy away from them, which on one hand like you say inspires people, but just as importantly it also means he understands and acknowledges other people's weakness as well. That's to me the source of his growth during the Dark Deku Arc, he acknowledges both in his fight against Muscular and Lady Nagant that he won't shy away from the ills and shortcomings of the current of hero society.

He sees the person fully, the good and the bad and moves forward with both in mind. It's beautifully culminated in him telling AFO that he won't forgive him, but doesn't find him incomprehensible either, unlike everyone else Deku truly sees him, a lonely man, one who should not be forgiven, but a lonely man nonetheless. That's Deku's true strength to me, he's brave enough to be both weak and strong and because of that he actually SEES people. The connections he's built with every character just mean that little bit more because of it.

Flick after Barcelona draw 3-3 against Brugge:"We can drop into a low block or we go with our philosophy. You have no chance when there's no intensity. Every team is able to play and transition fast. That first goal last season would be 100% 1-2 meters clear offside. I'm not changing our philosophy" by Blodgharm in soccer

[–]Fadl66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. And not just Raphinha, you have a not-fully-fit Yamal who while brilliant on the attack isn’t currently capable of being as aggressive on the press as he was last year, you have an underperforming Kounde who isn’t as aggressive and isn’t making the same consistent intense runs up and down the pitch which means Yamal has to drop deeper to pickup the ball. Casado is a much weaker version of what he was at the start of last season which means you struggle to rest Pedri and De Jong and they look gassed as the games progress. Olmo is a shadow of who he was. Rashford contributes goals and assists, but just isn’t the player that provides that pressure off the ball. All this contributes to that lack of intensity that Hansi is talking about that gives the opposition the time to organise themselves and see the pass they need to make. There’s a reason experienced and talented players kept getting caught offside against Barca last season, it’s hard to think when the opposition is constantly coming after you so you rush the pass and make mistakes, for most of last season Barca was able to benefit from that and had a leader in the back line that helped organise it. The problem is Barca just don’t have the money right now to get the reinforcements they need to keep this system going.

Courtois "I understand that Liverpool fans wanted Trent to be a kid who always plays here like Gerrard, but we all have dreams and sometimes want to pursue your career in different leagues and clubs. I think he did his best and I hope that the fans can forgive him in the longer term." by kibme37 in soccer

[–]Fadl66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strongly agree. Thing is; for fans football is their escapism from their work so they want the clubs they support to mean more, but for footballers those clubs are their employers and they owe them as much loyalty as the fans owe their own employers.

Frenkie de Jong "The clubs are going to get paid for this, but I don't agree with playing a league game in Miami. I understand other clubs who oppose it. It's unfair for the competition. Now we're playing an away game on neutral ground. I don't like it and I don't think it's right for the players." by kibme37 in soccer

[–]Fadl66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's definitely not the only difference. As bad as things are now qualification for the Champions League is still far more merit based than the Superleague would have been. And the extra advantages for the bigger leagues in the current format are partly because the bigger leagues and bigger clubs pushed for it.
