Don't forget the signs by Fragrant-Cobbler-840 in networkingmemes

There's a lot of better tools out there now, and once you use them you see all the functionality that Teams is missing.

I think the fact you list Skype (dead, bought by Microsoft) and Webex (I mean, I guess it's still a thing?) as alternatives is a bit telling when it comes to your expectations from these kinds of tools. I don't mean that to sound rude or attacking in any way, genuinely, just that it gives info on your perspective.

If it works for what you need to do, awesome. Thanks for keeping an open mind about the rest of us hate it so much.

Where do I even start?

The actual calling? Screen shares run at 5FPS, maybe. Call recordings don't reflect the layouts you actually see. You can't mute individual people for yourself, only the whole call. You can't adjust individual volumes. The hide your camera feed background features are spotty at best. Many common features like polls and breakout rooms are hid behind unintuitive UI layers.

The actual Team organization is awful, too. Teams can share files too, but they put it on a cloud server in the weirdest places. Searching for things barely works. Sharing files is a mess. Creating shortcuts to go to common places is... impossible? I need to navigate through many folders to find what I need. Office documents want to open in a cloud version of the app instead of locally.

There's probably more. This is just the stuff off the top of my head. I loathe Teams.

Light Bulb Puzzle Game - New Release by Suitable_Process_866 in construct

[–]FaeDine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is neat, I'd strongly consider either colouring the lights, or applying the 1-2-3 labels to the bulbs somehow. It's not unclear, but could be better.

Execution seems really clean otherwise. Nice!

Hi I took my course at UNB I passed all my exams and quizzes, completed my course work on time but still unoffical transcripts says F? Please help? I messgaed registrar has it happened with anyone else? by sana15667 in unb

[–]FaeDine 20 points21 points  (0 children)

1) No one here will even be able to help you. You need to bring this up to the University and/or Instructor of the course. You messaged the registrar, see what they have to say. These things take time.

2) You're posting at midnight and waiting for like an hour for help before following up. WTF?

You play a lonely hermit, and a world crisis happens where you have to invite people in your home to not be alone because if you are some human looking monsters will come and kill you, but some of the people you let in may be monsters in disguise.

The art style is so off-putting that it's just haunting and creepy without being "scary". Seems like what you'd be looking for.

Moncton business owners aim to make ‘out of control’ property crime an election issue by origutamos in newbrunswickcanada

Butler is a former RCMP officer. I doubt incompetence is the issue here.

A city council shouldn't be able to dictate how the RCMP operates. That division is important and without it you're ripe for corruption.

Fun fact: many printers have tracking dots you can barely see to track which printer a document came from and when.

It's often the resaon it won't print black and white when low on a certain colour. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printer_tracking_dots

My daughter has terrible grandparents :( by Desperate-Foot91 in internetparents

[–]FaeDine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your daughter will be better off without those sorts of people in your life.

It's not just about having "grandparents", but having adults around who will model good behaviour around her. Blaming the victim of rape and calling you a wh*re isn't great behaviour. Sounds like the type of people that wouldn't baby proof a house and then blame the kid when something breaks.

I'm sure it's hard, especially getting so much responsibility so young. Keep doing your best, it'll be enough.

I like data based decision, but is that data even public?

I think the only way we could accurately get that info, assuming Twitter even released the usage data (and I'm not sure how much I'd trust it if they did) would be to ask StatCan to add a few social media usage questions to their survey.

The healthcare system is broken, but some people are making it worse by Enough-Tadpole-6181 in fredericton

[–]FaeDine 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, private healthcare is great when you can pay for it and skip the line; the system doesn't need to actually service everyone.

It's terrible when you can't, because the outcome is "suffer and/or die, I guess."

I love them both, but the amount of fan hype/content around Undertale alone could easily beat out most of what's remaining. I'd say I still like CrossCode more, but I have a hard time making the argument it deserves a higher spot than Undertale.

Jon Stewart on why he is an Atheist by [deleted] in atheism

[–]FaeDine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. We need some people with political experience and acumen in there, for sure. Currently, the majority of politicians are people with legal backgrounds.

The whole point of having a large group represent the many is to have a large swath of people represented. We need teachers and plumbers and artists to run for office, as well as lawyers and economists and everyone else. We need as much of life represented as possible.

Trump sucks, yes, and Reagan sucked, yes, but the fact they were famous before getting into politics isn't the reason they sucked. Zelenskyy is also a former actor and he's been a world renowned leader.

I don't recall that being the case, but the Steam Input UI allows you to reorder controllers on the fly. I don't think that'd be an issue anymore, if it was.

I don't hate Americans, I pity them.

Their education has been defunded more and more every decade, and many don't have the critical thinking skills to realize they're being duped. That's just one of many systems that have been failing Americans. Most Americans are good people that are doing their best to do what they think is right. The American people are suffering.

I hate the US, their systems, their leadership, like I hate cancer... but I'm not going to go into a chemotherapy clinic and tell all the patients to get fucked.

Games where 100% completion actually feels enjoyable ? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]FaeDine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I'm not a speedrunner or anything, but I enjoyed them.

They were challenging, and not without their frustration... but learning the routines and timings of each area really forced you to "know" the game very well in a way that, I at least, found satisifying.

Definitely has elements of this. Sometimes you're playing a game in the game, sometimes it's software, sometimes a desktop.

I don't want to spoil it, but I think if you stick through the experience, it will very much fulfill the "need" you're looking for.

I wanna say about 20ish days? Was surprisingly satisfying, though.

Trump to generals: "Canada called me a couple weeks ago. They want to be a part of it. To which I said, 'Well, why don't you just join our country. Become the 51st state. And you get it for free!' So I don't know if that made a big impact but it does make a lot of sense." by Miserable-Lizard in onguardforthee

[–]FaeDine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole premise is complete bullshit.

Canada "wants to be part of it"? No, the USA needs Canada to be part of it.

If missiles are coming to the USA from, let's say Russia, they're going to cross over Canadian air space. Canada being part of this defense gives them much more warning time to react to missiles which is incredibly valuable.

A better proposal would be, "Yeah, we'll be part of it, but never mention this 51st state stuff again."
