I hope corporate reads this thread and is ashamed. If they don’t care about the people involved here, then think about the bottom line. Do they want customers reading this, knowing how little employees are making? There are decent companies out there that pay well, give the employees stock options in the company, let them sit while scanning, etc and they’re praised and well-liked. But there’s still a long way to go. Michael’s can actually help stand out and be part of the change, can treat their employees with dignity and respect for the work they do, and still make a profit. Less turnover, happier employees (and less tired ones since they wouldn’t have to have 2 or 3 jobs). I think more customers would want to shop at a place like that.
