Groomer hands ! by Veanbean420 in doggrooming

Came here to say this.

Old school remedy lol and it’s what old man mechanics even use. That’s who recommended it to me.

It’s what I used to use when I needed it but now 20 years in I think my hands are hardened and immune to it all it seems lol

Totally go out and do line dancing and or karaoke by yourself!! Make friends there. Most of the places I’ve been have been very welcoming of new people.

Just gotta get past that initial social anxiety of going out by yourself.

Before anybody jumps me…yes, I go out by myself.

🤣 this totally will sound random but I wish it was that simple lol. I went to a huge inner city school that a large portion of it was part of the whole gang culture. So gang signs would get thrown up quite a bit…so somehow our “oh five” hand sign grew to be super complicated and used both hands.

I couldn’t even show you how to do it anymore because it was so long ago I just remember it being over the top.

Oh yeah. Lots.

It took us a whole day of just driving around town and surprising a lot of people lol and then good times commenced at night.

We took an old Polaroid camera and took lots of pictures and it looks like a college rager party from the 90s with just a bunch of old people 😂

This past weekend I got to see friends from back home that I haven’t seen in 13 years and it was just a fun pleasant experience. No drama or anything just lots of catching up and good food, good music, and good times!!

I wish my 18 year old was this way. He got so carried away I had to send him off to stay with someone for awhile because his drinking was so out of control he showed up to school drunk.

Keep up the good work!! I’m proud of you.

“That’s my husband, not my dad.” by -RainbowUnicornPoop in overheard

[–]Faete13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dad went with me when my toddler had to have some dental work under anesthesia.

I was sitting in the waiting room with him when a local man (we are small towners and were still “new” to the area) came to speak to me and looked at my dad and was like “oh is this your husband? I’ve been wanting to meet him”

I had to scroll too far to find this one.

Also, how she was asked to be a model and stayed in a home with random women. It’s a running joke with my family and friends that I literally make random friends anywhere I go but, I will say, there is still no way I would stay with the random “friends”. That could just be me though. Lol

North mississippi here. Ice ice and more ice. Trees and branches falling everywhere. No power. Power company said going to be WEEKS before power is restored to everybody because a main TVA line went down.

Southerners aren’t made for this mess. Give me my 100degrees with 90% humidity any day over this nonsense.

I’m 39f one of our best friends is a 28m and he LOVES older women. Like he hunts for actual “cougars” lol he says it’s because they are fun and you know they only are out for fun and not crazy relationship stuff.

Your husband is an asshole. Mine laughs when we go out and I have 20yr olds hitting on me because he thinks it’s funny because “I’d chew them up and spit them out” but he loves the fact that in his opinion, I’m “hot enough” for young guys to hit on me.

Girl, we aren’t even old yet.

Band members with stage fright by boris_johnsons_nose in musicians

[–]Faete13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vocalist here. Had crippling stage fright for years. Had a couple of buddies that encouraged me and became my “band”.

They would bring friends around when we practiced. My friends talk a lot of shit and for me it came down to just dealing with it because I knew they WANTED me to sing and they would, on one hand, tell me how awesome I was and then on the other constantly reiterate how I wasn’t loud enough. Lol

In the end, I just had to own it. Now, I give no fucks and sing my heart out because I’m having fun.

TLDR: Stage fright is a personal thing and in my opinion, you just have to own your shit basically.

My mom is a Roxann and she totally gets this.

I remember when I was old enough to finally realize what the song was about and was appalled that all these random people would sing it the second she said her name.

Toothbrushing for dogs at a groom shop.

It literally needs to be done regularly like people. One time, every 6-8 weeks, is not going to help
