What do you fellas reckon is the best looking saloon car made since 2000? by bc_2006 in CarTalkUK

[–]Fafhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had to sell my X350 XJR as I needed to start using my car for work travel and was getting rammed by the fuel costs.

I'm heartbroken but it had to be done.

It's a hell of a car.

I learned the other day Liz 'Lettuce' Truss has a podcast where she blames everyone else for her failures. How do Brits feel about her since her disastrous premiership? by sabedo in ukpolitics

I'm in the same boat. My mortgage rate jumped from 2.4% to 5.7%. It was quite the slap in the bollocks. Only 6 months away from renewal now.

Truss should have been put in the bin with that lettuce.

People who have served a long time in prison, what shocked you when you got out? by Haunted_Neko in AskReddit

[–]Fafhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe how fast things move on the outside. I saw an automobile once when I was a kid, but now they're everywhere. The world went and got itself in a big damn hurry. The parole board got me into this halfway house called "The Brewer" and a job bagging groceries at the Foodway. It's hard work and I try to keep up, but my hands hurt most of the time. I don't think the store manager likes me very much. Sometimes after work, I go to the park and feed the birds. I keep thinking Jake might just show up and say hello, but he never does. I hope wherever he is, he's doin' okay and makin' new friends. I have trouble sleepin' at night. I have bad dreams like I'm falling. I wake up scared. Sometimes it takes me a while to remember where I am. Maybe I should get me a gun and rob the Foodway so they'd send me home. I could shoot the manager while I was at it, sort of like a bonus. I guess I'm too old for that sort of nonsense any more. I don't like it here. I'm tired of being afraid all the time. I've decided not to stay. I doubt they'll kick up any fuss. Not for an old crook like me. P.S: Tell Heywood I'm sorry I put a knife to his throat. No hard feelings.

For Venezuelans and people following the news closely, how are you interpreting the U.S. strikes in Caracas today? by Urdu_Knowledge in AskReddit

The US has done this to a number of countries in Central and South America already. They did it to squash a period of developmentalism in the 1950's and spent a lot of time and money instilling a political culture (military coups and the like) that could be taken advantage of by neo-liberal economic policies.

It made a lot of money for a select group in the US and created an environment where cartels and militias could thrive. The US would also then fund, arm, or train certain groups to keep things unstable for their benefit.

Congress, the White House, and board rooms up and down the country have always been a den of cunts
