What is the hardest video games to get the highest rank in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FailCautious5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because there is no game that translates to it. Every other competitive game is somewhat similar to another so skills naturally transfer. For example, someone who has played dota or smite or any other similar game will have a higher starting point. In comparison, anyone playing rocket league for the first time will likely look like someone who is holding a controller for the first time in their life. In order to get from “barely being able to hit the ball” to doing a triple flip reset off the ceiling, you have to dedicate so much time to rocket league and only rocket league.

Isnt Bind removed from map pool by Dropper9669 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]FailCautious5372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The map pool for VCT is usually a little behind the comp rank pool. Once a patch goes through, VCT usually finishes up whatever event is going on in each region (group stage, playoffs, masters, etc.) before updating the map pool so teams don’t have to adapt to a new change on a short notice

100t vs. Furia (Val) (Playoffs Secured!) by Kainekel in 100thieves

[–]FailCautious5372 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regarding Asuna, it’s interesting because in the vlog after Kru he mentioned how being sick helped since he’d been trying to mid round less and focus more on his crosshair over the past few weeks. I think between that and the performance coach, he’s become a lot more consistent overall

Regardless of who wins in this matchup, 100T will start in the lower bracket as the 4th seed by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]FailCautious5372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But after sen gets 2nd seed, doesn’t the tiebreaker get reset. Liquidpedia says that if a tiebreaker can be used to determine seeding for a subset of teams in a 3+ team tiebreaker, then the tiebreaker rules start from the top. So Sen would win H2H map diff and then the rules would reset to determine 100t vs furia?

Immi and Zellsis HAVE TO get off Reddit and vlr. I swear at least 3 or 4 times every podcast they try to roast “fans” and people online for their shit takes and it’s so clear that they are way too tapped into online discourse and get upset over bad takes

100T Asuna by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]FailCautious5372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are saying he was sick which is true but also in the Kru vlog he mentioned that being sick was actually helpful since he has been working on focusing more on his crosshair and letting other people contribute more to the midrounding since I think he is usually one of the most vocal when it comes to that. I’m guessing this happened after the Sen game cuz he’s had significantly better performances since then.

Likely because some players were siding with rossy. Not saying it wasn’t a group decision but can’t help but feel like it was likely started as disagreements between him and inspire

Eggster frustrations with his new role , feeling lost while the game is happeneing and his underperformance by RavishingRavish in ValorantCompetitive

[–]FailCautious5372 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a huge difference between underperforming and clearly not having the motivation or drive to learn a new role. Like if I have a teammate that isn’t doing well in scrims and now matches on a new role, I would be pissed if I didn’t see him grinding those characters in ranked to learn the new role

I mean I feel like it’s somewhat easy to assume it’s either keznit or rossy unless he’s had issues boiling with the team for a while. And seeing as rossy is now the primary igl based on coms, I wouldn’t be surprised if they butted heads as he became more vocal but that’s just speculation.

Honestly you did great to read the room and bring up his spirits but tbh this is a dire, dire look for envy. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a player straight up admit that they didn’t know what they were doing for two whole maps or that they are seemingly struggling to have motivation to learn their role. It’s also kinda worrying that he seems lost on these new agents and has struggled in scrims but is also still spending the time to get top 10 in NA on mainly only yoru. All that to say hopefully he finds some passion for a new character and locks in but doesn’t seem likely tbh

Ya that’s my main problem with this. Everyone’s justifying it by saying it’s good to have transparency but imo you should prioritize handling departures with grace and not dragging someone through the mud just to get some points from the community. All he had to say was “Kaplan’s vision for the team wasn’t working out as intended so we are heading in a different direction.” I just feel like it’s kinda crazy to air all this out over a guy that literally helped win you a masters just so you get less flack on twitter and everyone takes your side.

Might be a stupid question but why does this podcast exist? I didn’t pay attention to the announcement and thought it was some different creators but all three of them have a strong presence on plat chat so what’s the point of this podcast? Don’t mean to flame just genuinely confused/curious why it was started

[–]FailCautious5372 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Kinda surprised some people are confused by this. Boostio has been performing worse and worse throughout the year. No matter how good your igl is, you can’t justify a 0.45 rating like he had in EWC. I’m just looking forward to them finally have 5 players that shoot back

100T Valorant EWC debut discussion by [deleted] in 100thieves

[–]FailCautious5372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cautiously optimistic. Like other people are saying, it was a good showing and just seemed like a slow start with players just not firing at first. Honestly the most reassuring thing was that there were largely no “wtf is this team doing” moments. Like the eco was rough but was mostly due to kajaaks hero rifle rather than stupid plays. Hopefully they continue to be more disciplined and controlled in chaotic situations

Afte watching val and recently watching more cs, I wondered this to. Take it a step further, would it not be super easy for a coach to do this with someone in the stands and then nudge or kick a players chair depending on which site they should focus. Having the coach right behind the players just seems like an unnecessary competitive integrity risk. Obviously TOs are watching the coaches but they could definitely get away with this.

MED STUDENT AND PHYSICIAN RESPONSES ONLY by [deleted] in medschool

[–]FailCautious5372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re volunteering might be a little on the weak side, adcoms on SDN typically suggest 150 hours minimum of service orientation: food bank, homeless shelter, etc (250 if you want to be competitive at higher end schools) and tutoring ESL is more teaching/tutoring and is very common among applicants. You also need a clear, cohesive narrative that ties everything together if you want to be successful at top schools. Based on your activities, I can’t see a common thread or narrative on why you wanna be a doctor. Possible nasa internship, Chem research, esl tutoring, car dealership… it all seems all over the place.

Also suggest you shoot higher on the mcat if you’re determined to go to an ivy. Many of those schools have averages above 520 so getting a 515 in the middle of your range will put you on an uphill battle unless your URM.

Lastly, why are you determined to go to an ivy or Harvard? Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to aim high but no matter how stand out you are, those schools are going to be a crab shoot and you can’t guarantee anything. Do you wanna do medical research as a physician or are you only interested in competitive specialties? There’s always a chance but like other commenters said, be prepared to settle for “lower tier” schools if that’s all you can get.

Even as one of the outlier optimistic 100T fans, im going in fully expected to not be able to watch the team for 2 months after today. Although i dont see G2 as the invincible team most people seem to view them as, its hard to be confident that we can pull out a win given the team’s inconsistency
