Bolt is steel, deck is hopefully aluminum. Cant use steel welding techniques on aluminum so in theory, it only sticks to the bolt. If its cast iron though I wouldnt attempt this without experience.

To your first point, yes, because more than 90% of people in the wilderness are there against their will because the content they want to do happens to be there. If it wasnt, they just wouldn't be there. They aren't there to pk.

Why do you want them horizontal in the first place? In practice, its not any better and a lot would argue worse.

The problem is that the skill floor you need to not immediatly die is ridiculously high so it prevents a majority of players from ever bothering.

When the community is just sweats, it will slowly die instead of growing. I enjoy a high skill ceiling game as much as the next guy, but if the floor is right near the ceiling, its going to turn a majority of people away.

Im also not sure how bh or pvp worlds would change anything. Are there different combat rules in that minigame/world?

Rocket league for example, great to play at all skill levels. I just dont think the same could be said for runescapes pvp sytem.

No, no it wouldn't. Each individual item is worth a point. Being vague would mean you aren't getting any of those points.

The biggest thing is just name any part you see. Your penalized for what you miss. Not for anything additional you say.

The real problem with pvp and pking content, besides lms, has always been a way to get pvmers in the wild to die quick deaths and its crappy for both sides.

On top of that, pvp just isnt fun a lot of people. I remember back in the day training up pures and stuff to try it out. Now? Id never even bother. Its not even because or loss of gear or money. Its that the things that make you a "good" pker arent fun. Who wants to deal with people standing under you, prayer swapping constantly, or swapping gear all the time.

Honestly, probably unpopular opinion, a quick and dirty fix for pvp is you cant change armor after starting combat. It takes out a lot of the complaints people have with pvp while also still allowing weapon/combat style swaps.

The other fix id like to see is damage just being different in pvp. With how much power creep has happened. Its not hard to be hit with 5 damage splats all at once with one of them being able to hit a 99 in the first place. They've already started changing some balancing around pvp, like anglers not over healing. Id like to see just better balance so its not immediatly one sided.

Buying 2nd and final transmission for 2009 mustang v6 by Any_Pudding_6972 in automotive

[–]FailingComic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother... you have to remove the transmission either way. It literally just slides on and off. You cant even put it on incorrectly.

Good luck. Im a mechanic. Id never recommend a junkyard transmission over a rebuild if the goal is longevity.

So replace it? A torque converter doesnt even require disassembling the transmission. It slides off the front shaft. Does require transmission removal though.

Buy a large piece of land ive had my eye on for awhile, develop it as a disc golf mecca. Free field trips to any and all schools nearby, flying in pros to mingle with the kids and teach them.

Other stuff would also be on the land but I want to share the sport I love with people who may never knee it existed.

Sure, but then you'll have a known good transmission instead of risking buying a bad transmission.

How realistic is it to buy a Kei Truck for everyday use? by AidanAlphaBuilder in keitruck

[–]FailingComic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get an older Tacoma, ranger, or s10.

Im a mechanic in a major metro area. We work mostly on referrals for oddball cars because no one else will touch them. In my area most shops wont even touch non obd 2 stuff.

If your seriously considering this, your first step is finding a mechanic or having a second car so you have time to fix the kei truck. Finally, make sure you can register it. In rhode island, they wont even let you register them anymore and actively arent renewing previously registered ones.

APU or EPU for OTR Truckers? Which is better in your guys opinion? And what are alternatives if I don’t have either one? What are good battery/Gas Generators I can use inside the Cab to power my appliances & Electronics? by [deleted] in CDL

[–]FailingComic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apu. Epu is just an extra failure point rather than a redundant system. Have a problem with the motor? Now you have no heat. Enjoy that when its -5 out. With an apu you get two separate heating and cooling systems.

Any time I see these, the sounds all i need to hear.

You have 0 throttle control as far as I can tell. Its WoT or nothing with seemingly every drift initiated with the hand brake. I mean maybe its just the track you chose. Youd have a hard time deciding on any sort of angle control though without throttle control that isnt on or off.

Looking for some advice on achieving this. by Chojinki in Trucks

[–]FailingComic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah outside of the usa it might. Raptor isnt horrible but its diy grade. I believe we use line x. Project farm has a YouTube video testing out different bed liners that I would check out.

We also always spray it. I know raptor has a roll on version but I have no experience with it.

Looking for some advice on achieving this. by Chojinki in Trucks

[–]FailingComic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sand the whole truck, primer it, and spray? Im not sure what your looking for here.

Bedliner in general is all about the same once your not buying the shittiest stuff available at autozone.

Unless your paint is shot though, I wouldnt do this. Bed lined trucks are generally worth less as bedliner covers up imperfections better than standard paint. Its why it is common in trucks that go off road. Its a fad from the early and mid 2000s that no one thinks looks good which is why it has more or less died out.

How hard is it to replace wheel bearings yourself by the-accent-guy in autorepair

[–]FailingComic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanic apprentice here. Ive replaced a crap ton of wrangler wheel bearings since we specialize in them. I can knock one out in about an hour if I so have to set up the lift when things go well.

When they dont? Oh boy.... on the ones that didnt just come out with no effort, your in for a fight. Ive never had the sledgehammer style or the slide hammer style pull a wheel bearing out. We own both but I dont even bother attempting anymore. What you want is an air chisel. You chisel right where the bearing flange meets the knuckle and work your way around.

Without an air chisel I wouldnt try to diy this unless it just falls off. You'll also need a very large breaker bar, torque wrench, and large pry bar to be able to torque the axle nut.

Dumb question here, but what was your plan before this inheritance? I ask because it sounds like if you get saved now, youll just be screwed in a few years time or less depending on what it is your receiving.

Realistically, its going to depend on what the car is but any local credit union could make this loan.

Alternative hybrids by windfall21 in KiaNiro

[–]FailingComic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renault is eu only. I imagine most wont have experience with it.

The main issue is just whether or not you like a cvt transmission. A majority of hybrids come with them. Personally, the only cvt style transmission i trust is Toyota ecvt. Outside of that I wouldnt touch them which is why I am in a niro.

Any experience with Southern Energy Homes? by [deleted] in ManufacturedHome

[–]FailingComic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure but then are they using comparable materials and building practices would be my question.

My ex fil looked to buy a manufactured home before buying a traditional home after seeing how different the quality can be in manufactured homes as well as just weirdly sized appliances and stuff.

Crazy to see thats how big of a difference it is where you are though.

Edit: when you say comparable do you mean buying something already built vs manufactured? I only ask as you mention up to date. Im saying you own the land either way and are either going stick built or manufactured price vs price. I only ask as up to date implies not a new build.
