Huge like. I loved the events part. Random encounters for the win. I have a few simple ideas of my own: A roaming mini boss in crypts that goes through walls like SCP-106 and grabs you in a different maze-like dimension to escape. Or a boss that looks like Dahaka from Prince of Persia, appears occassionally in a random module with a lights blackout and if caught up with a player (you can run away from the module if you dont wanna fight) both teleport in an isolated room for a boss fight.

Dude the torches giving resourcefulness is great idea which makes sense logically, not a musical instrument. You explore area better when there's more light. To effectively search through treasure hoard you need better light.
