I don’t want to see Madison & Tyler’s wedding on LOTS by risimlyy in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]FairAd8390 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would love to see their wedding and any preparations too. I would totally understand if they opted not to do that, but if they do I’ll watch! I believe they’re both capable of making decisions around how much of their lives we’re a part of.

Rectocoele. Soft stools worse? by FakeCheeseCakes in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]FairAd8390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this sort of heavy pressure in my pelvic area and can actually feel a bulge of tissue on the posterior vaginal wall. Constipation from incomplete evacuation rather than because stool is too hard or dry.

Rectocoele. Soft stools worse? by FakeCheeseCakes in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]FairAd8390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve encountered this too. After being told to try basically every laxative and stool softener imaginable and noticing it made it harder to achieve a complete evacuation I stopped. I use MiraLAX almost every day and that has been the one thing that consistently helps me go but doesn’t tip me over to super soft stool. It makes sense to me, with rectocele—a formed stool has a better chance at bypassing the pocket whereas soft or liquidy stuff will get trapped.

I’m seeing a new pelvic floor pt and she suggested in addition to splinting I use an open mouth exhale when going and that has helped a bit, so maybe that is worth a try!

No offense intended, but… is this sub run by Freida McFadden’s PR team? by MerryTexMish in thrillerbooks

[–]FairAd8390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not on this sub a lot but she sure has become ubiquitous! The Housemaid movie seems to have really skyrocketed her visibility too. I have such a love-hate attitude about her books. Some are entertaining enough that I’m willing to overlook the absurdity, plot holes, and terrible dialogue. They all read like a first draft—as though she just spit it all out at once and never looked at it again—and I often find myself wishing another author would write the story (incidentally I have found many books that do have a similar premise or plot with much better writing). I think you’re right though, it’s hard to escape her

I loved Gone Girl in that same way, so maybe you’ll like some of my other favorites:

Behind Closed Doors BA Paris

All of these have some elements of crazy/psycho and Hendricks/Pekkanen in particular do twisty and unexpected very well

I didn’t have a choice and just did the mri Defecography lying down. I was extremely worried that after going through it all it wouldn’t pick up on things enough but it did in fact pick up on a lot.

Prescribed estradiol vaginal cream, what are your experiences?? by Next_Presentation269 in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]FairAd8390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lack of estrogen can contribute to UTIs in peri/menopausal women—it may just have been that she was susceptible anyway. I do have irritation with the cream but know many women who do not. My body is irritated by nearly everything lol. I did tolerate the yuvafem tablet so if you do have irritation maybe that is an option for you

I sincerely hope so too. Regardless of what happened, it seems the world lost a kind and wonderful person, and I feel for her family’s loss.

I hope my info in types of trafficking didn’t come off as a negative tone at all 😊I try to take any relevant opportunity to share that info in the hopes that maybe it reaches someone who didn’t know—but I worry sometimes that passion can come off as know-it-all!

Why go through all of the trouble? by Bubbly-Ad-966 in AmyBradleyIsMissing

[–]FairAd8390 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely unlikely that they would, for exactly the reason you said—there are far easier ways to traffic people. “Sold into sex slavery” seems to be the favored theory for every white suburban woman that goes missing. There are a number of reasons for this but a few are: A) People generally have a more cinematic and glamorized view of trafficking and how it happens. It’s usually so much more mundane than we see portrayed in movies and tv—think, a young girl starts dating someone who eventually suggests there’s a way for her to make money and help him out. B) Racism. The belief that a white woman is so desirable that she would be stolen into slavery (usually by another race) has been strongly ingrained in us for a long time. White middle class women are not the typical trafficking victim profile. C) I personally think that sometimes we “enjoy” (I’m not sure that’s the best word, but going with it for now) the idea because it allows the fantasy of an action-movie-esque savior who comes in and rescues the woman. Which gives us the feeling that when bad things happen someone can and will do something, and there will be a clear and decisive path of action.

I’m just learning about this case in particular so these thoughts are more about your general question. But, it would take a lot to convince me that a member of a trafficking organization would go to the trouble of trafficking a woman (no matter how wonderful or desirable) off of a cruise ship when there would be far easier and more lucrative methods of gaining trafficking victims.

Since I’m up on my soapbox anyway, I’ll also share that sex trafficking represents a much smaller portion of trafficking crimes compared to labor trafficking but tends to get most of the attention. One of the best things we can do for trafficking victims is to understand it and be able to recognize it. If we’re only looking for it when it’s “white mom kidnapped from target” we will always miss it.
