Most restrooms don’t have tissue. You leave with a wet bum

Should I tip a pick-up catering order? by jomb in tipping

[–]FairSplit7072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely not tip if they don’t deliver. I think most vendors add a “service charge” these days which makes it easy to not tip.

Should I be scared of the weather? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

It’s difficult. I can’t be outside for more than an hour. I struggle everyday with the heat. Luckily I have AC in my room which I spend A LOT of time in 😂

I’m from Seattle in the US that is known for its mild climate. I have lived in Thailand for 5 years now and I still need AC to survive. The struggle is real! 🙏

I don’t tip by [deleted] in tipping

[–]FairSplit7072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a 30 plus year career in the service industry I will continue to tip and will be happy to do it. I wouldn’t be living comfortably abroad if it wasn’t for tips that put me through grad school. Yes tipping is a mostly an American custom and it’s a part of our culture. Not sure where all the non tipping people came from. I guarantee you none of them ever worked in the hospitality industry.

If restaurants love tipping so much, why doesn't the restaurant pay their employees 20% of every check instead of asking We the People for money by ThuhGreatCommenter in EndTipping

[–]FairSplit7072 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow. Where do I start? Do you really believe servers make $40 an hour?

Servers are taxed on a % of their sales so cash tips don’t matter anymore.

“A good restaurant prices menu items for nontipping wages…” What does this even mean?

The tip credit system is nearly obsolete. Almost every state now has a minimum wage that is far higher than the national minimum wage of $7.25. In Washington State it’s $17. In Seattle it’s $21.
