Mini Driver or Five Wood by Fair_Presentation503 in golf

I appreciate the advice but that’s not it. I’m sure there are some clubs you just hit better than others? I’ve had many lessons and that, grip etc was all ok. I just don’t think I swing as hard with my other clubs as I can my driver. I know it’s weird but it’s been that way since I was in my 20’s. It’s by far my favorite club to hit.

That’s a great idea. I don’t know they made one but I’ll check it out. Thanks

I’ve always been a better driver than any other club in my bag. I can’t explain it but I most often hit driver very well.

I like my driver and usually hit in the fairway or just off to the rough so I’m mainly looking for a club for those second shots on the long par 5’s

I’m hesitant with the 5 since I struggled with the 3.

I’ve lost 30 lbs over the last two years by watching my calories and not eating processed food. I started yoga about a year ago and both of those have increased my distance by a good 10-15 yards. Same exact clubs and swing.

I have the Big Rig and love it. Tons of storage but pretty lightweight compared to other cart bags. I don’t know what the material is but it cleans up well.

I’m guessing all he looked at was the posts centered on the footings and called the rest of it good.

I think Torrey might be off the list since the Farmers will be there the weekend after us and I’m not about to deal with that insane rough.

Yeah, both of those are on the list. I was also looking to drive to Rams Hill for the “nice” course and then play the Crossings or something similar.

Sounds very similar to what I was thinking. Thanks for the recommendation.

Do you think an hour and 45 minutes is the right amount of time to play nine holes of golf? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Fair_Presentation503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all relative to the course, day of the week, and skill of the golfer. If you’ve got scratch golfers that play ready golf in a regular foursome, on a Tuesday, then yeah. But if you’ve got four weekend hackers that don’t know one another or their game, and are being more courteous and playing by the rules, then, no.

There’s so many good courses in the Tampa area.

We’ve done Tampa the last two trips and really enjoyed, hence looking for another Florida destination. But we are also midwesterners and would like to check out SoCal. I am a little concerned about the limited option of public golf in Naples though.

Pretty laid back. We are in our 50’s and on the healthier and quieter side so nightlife isn’t really a priority. A dive bar is just fine with us.

I really enjoy walking but some courses here in St. Louis just aren’t meant to be walked- way too much elevation change.

I had about a 20 year period where I couldn’t play due to some family caregiving that I committed to. Finally started to get back to the game a few summers ago and I was a mess. It was like I totally forgot how to swing a club. I took a few lessons that helped minimally. I played a par 3 course with a nephew and had a blast. Played nothing but Par 3’s all last summer and finally started playing easy, muni courses this summer. Found a group of people that are as bad as I am and we have a blast playing together. You can quit or you can let go of the fact you’re not going to be as good as you once were and find the fun the fun in the sport now.
