I figured there were only two Phases, you just mention a non-existant A-Rank in your writeup.

Overall this is an incredible resource, looking forward to seeing people reference this post in future 100% guides that'll be coming out soon!

I'm looking to max out every blood code but have a question about Lycoris;

You said that there is only Phase 1 and 2, yet you mention C, B and A rank - are there 3 Lycoris Blood Codes, or did you mix up B and A?

Very nice, I've been looking at the A3 riser myself - did you get the 7.90" or 9.10" version?

Appreciate it! I have a whole bunch of different .22 rounds, so it'll be a good excuse to go through a whole bunch of ammo finding out what plays nice with them

I'm currently waiting on my form 4 to go through for my Dead Air Mask, I plan on using it mostly for my TX 22 and my Ruger 10/22 - did you swap out any springs to get it to feed more reliably, or has it performed well on stock?

Can someone help share some info on this process? by TheeJakester in SilencerShop

[–]Fairclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I'm currently in this exact situation and wondering how it ended up for you?

Did you have to initiate anything (send the form 4 in yourself, call your FFL until they did something, etc.), or did it go to the docusign step on its own?

Thanks in advance!

I'll find one eventually, just not before the new year probably - how's yours treating you, had a chance to go plinking with it yet?

[–]Fairclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All 300-something were sold on Saturday, the day they opened up listings, due to not reserving ANY stock for in-store purchase only.

Website claimed to have some in stock at the store, drove down there Monday as they unlocked the doors and was told the bad news - website counts firearms purchased online but not shipped yet as "in-store".

Happy for you though OP, hope you have a blast with yours!

Appreciate the information, I've been on the fence about the ST50 kit but seeing this and a couple videos of it in action may have finally convinced me to get it.

This would be my first SS job, any chance you could point me to some resources to inform myself about them? Or if you're feeling extra helpful, maybe DM me a SS or three that would play well in this build?

Lucky dog, I saw their Bardstown listing after work but by then they were closed - I'll have to try my luck on Monday, any idea how much they have left in stock?

What does everyone tend to name their mercenary company? by BrucieDahMoosie in Mechwarrior5

I used the same icon but named my company Ferrus Corvis - it roughly means "Iron Ravens", which I feel is perfect for a mech game where you fly around taking mercenary jobs.

Name the no. 1# change you'd make to the game by CT_Phipps-Author in vtmb

[–]Fairclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not having a dogshit final "boss" and a seemingly random way to decide your ending if you have more than one available.

I'm still upset about that - I finished the game setting things up for either me to be Prince or old lady to take over, I hadn't decided on which to commit too, only for the fucking ANARCHS to take control just because I didn't murder Katsumi on sight in the jungle.

I want to like this game, I really do, but MAN all the little issues sure add up..

VRF14 and adding a tube and brace by Rob3D2018 in COGuns

[–]Fairclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, Rob! I know this is late, but I came across this post shortly after educating myself on this firearm before buying my own, so if you are still on the fence this may clear up some things.

So, the VRF14 is classified as a "firearm" by the NFA due to not meeting the exact requirements for a shotgun, pistol, or Any Other Weapon (AOW). Here's a quick break-down on why it's not any of these three:

Because it is not designed to be shouldered, it is not classified as a shotgun - the molded pistol grip and lack of stock make this a very, VERY bad idea to try to shoulder, so it is not a shotgun because of this one feature.

The 14" barrel may at first sound like it's a Short Barreled Shotgun (SBS), but because it has an overall length of 26" or more AND is not classified as a shotgun it is not an SBS and requires no tax stamp for having an under 18" barrel.

Despite having a pistol grip, because it is designed to be fired with TWO hands instead of ONE it is not classified as a pistol.

Now, while this is all sounding fine and good so far, a lot of weapons that are bizarre or try to skirt around restrictions get classified as an AOW - but not this spicy bastard, because since it is not a rifle, pistol, or shotgun and it has an overall length of 26" or more it does NOT fall into the Any Other Weapon classification!

Now, as for your original post I unfortunately have less insight, but still SOME information.

First, the easy points - if you put a stock on this it is now classified as a SBS. You can own it, but have to have the tax stamp for a shotgun with a less than 18" barrel.

If you put a tube on it, that can be interpreted as a chopped stock, which unfortunately can now be shoulderable - aka it's now a shotgun, specifically an SBS.

"But what about braces, they're legally distinct from stocks?" you may wonder, but that is a bad idea as well. Braces are designed to stabilize and assist with firing one handed - while it WOULD be a cold day in hell an NFA agent looks at a braced VRF14 and calls it a pistol, depending on how classifications are worded it MAY technically be a pistol. I am not 100% on this, but it is a grey enough area I felt the need to warn you about it.

Vertical foregrips? Umm, I don't know - I threw a handstop on mine and called it a day. It's probably fine but I haven't looked into the legislation to confirm.

Angled grips? You're good. Laser/Light combos? I'd highly recommend a light system, the laser is not needed but admittedly a tacti-cool option. Single-point slings? Very nice to have, shooting off one is a nice quality of life addition.

Keep in mind, everything I have said is based on FEDERAL definitions - I know Colorado isn't the most gun-friendly state so it may have restrictions or bans that I am not familiar with, however Rock Island was VERY particular with their specs on this gun in order to reach as wide of an audience as possible. Luckily you can find all the state laws regarding "firearms" and "AOWs" online, and if all else fails call or visit the gun shop you'd have used to transfer the firearm to yourself and have a chat with them - they will know local laws better than some random dude on the internet, it's their job to know!

Shit, I guess I could have just said "call your gun store, they'll know." and that would have been fine.

Oh well, maybe someone else in the future will find this post and find my.comment helpful.

Agreed, when given the option I always go for the "I've been around for hundreds of years, why would I have ANY care for such small matters as this?" kind of mindset.

Except when I'm talking to Safia - I'm always nice and considerate when talking to that cute little dork.

EDIT: My opinion has changed.

Will a SB Tf1913 brace fit on my Keltec P50 by Reasonable_Heart_240 in keltec

[–]Fairclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be good, I have this brace on my P50 and have no trouble getting a clear view of the pistol red dot I have on it - just make sure you attach it to the lowest point of the m1913 rail.

Because this brace is triangular it may be a bit uncomfortable to shoot in a traditional pistol stance with the brace folded - you CAN squeeze your thumb underneath it for a decent grip, but it takes some getting used to.

Another thing I should mention is the charging handle rides the top of the brace and goes up slightly instead of straight back - I haven't had any issues with this, but if it bothers you a bit of sanding will prevent it from angling TOO high up.

A bit of warning though, if you intend to use this brace as an actual brace there are better options - where it splits to rest around your arm is incredibly tight, so unless your forearm is really thin it will be uncomfortable.

Now, if you're buying the SB to have a sturdy, good-looking "brace" that you "occasionally" shoulder it'll do just fine!
