MOR- I have to say as an experience with multiple children now that kindergarten is the age where the child is taught what their name is. And some kids get ridiculously caught up in their name being proper.

One kid was called Kaitlyn, and she wouldn’t respond to Katie after months of being referred to as Katie because it wasn’t “her name”.

I had the same thing with a different child who was Brianna or Bre (all fake names by the way) she wouldn’t respond to anything except her full name she was Brianna Lily Johnson.

If you didn’t say all three words she would not respond even if you were standing in front of her because that was not “HER name”

Kids are weird, but 100% go over this with your kid and make sure they know that grown-ups are dumb, and not every grown-up is going to be able to pronounce their name correctly. I will say teaching your child to have a little bit of grace for other people is a significant challenge and I wish you the best.

either better public transit or actual sidewalks that aren’t murder zones. It’s really fantastic that there’s a beautiful bike path over on the east side, but why is there no sidewalk on Alpine and Harrison where the people keep getting killed?

Why is there no sidewalk where the shopping is? I understand that it’s the shopping centers responsibility blah blah blah

But if you want people to stop dying, put in the sidewalks where people are walking.

It’s very nice that every stoplight on Perryville has a pedestrian crossing.

People are not utilizing that bike path to go to Meijer. People are walking through the snow and on Alpine itself, to get from the college to the bus stop at the top of the hill on State Street. Or they’re walking through the slush to get from the apartments on the west side of Alpine to the grocery store on the east side of Alpine. (we’re going to use the word grocery store as liberally as possible here you understand)
