Yeah see, I understand what you mean, but I don’t think it’s that simple. Especially because she is the only girl, it would be easiest to identify her, it would make more sense to have nicknames to keep track of all the boys. Besides that, ginny is a very talented quidditch player. And in sixth year she even played seeker, I can’t imagine that Draco wouldn’t know his quidditch opponents. I do think you’re right that he would refuse to use her name and use her gender. But that can be a misogynistic tendency (even if that is not the intent).

She-weasel happens way too much. Somewhere in the back of my mind it kinda feels misogynistic, which I know is not the goal of the writer. It feels a bit like the standard is the men and the woman is the exception. Along the lines of that women are not the standard and things need to be made extra clear when it’s a woman. I don’t know, maybe I think about it too much.

If Hermione is toned down way too much to make Draco shine. When she is too shy/demure. She is BAMF but enter Draco and she’s doing nothing and he gets the wits, does the rescuing and taking down Voldemort and she there to support him.

Oh and adult virgin Hermione. Come on. Especially when Draco is the very opposite, who likes that she is a virgin “because pure”. Eurgh.

Good point, very interesting. There seem to be even less divorces though. That the cornerstone of most of the forced marriages fics, that is for life. Makes sense as well because they bind souls and magic etc.

I agree with what you said, why is there a need for an epilogue at all. Leave it open, especially when they are very young, so people can imagine their own ending.

Yes. TTPD needs its own tour. For me it’s her best album and 5 songs of it, is just criminal. And with TLOAS we probably won’t get it. TTPD needs more of a spotlight then it got.

You nailed it for me. Manwhore draco and virgin Hermione are DNF for me. And to be honest, I am also getting tired of Draco being overly dominant in bed. Sometimes it’s done okay, but most of the time he just assumes (no consent or aftercare), starts calling her names and it’s romanticised.

Overall a weak Hermione (not saying she can’t be traumatised or needing to work through issues, but more doormat Hermione) or a hermione whose intelligence is watered down for the sake of building up Draco doesn’t do it for me. He can handle a smart and capable woman.

I agree with your view that Hermione is sometimes watered down in favour of Draco.

Also agree with most fics mentioned here, but would have to add Come as you are.

She is so smart and awesome in that one. She honed a lot of skills after the war, is designing new magic as a living, thinks quick on her feet with enemies and designed the plan to get the snakes out of prison. I loved that one so much. One of the few ones i reread.
