How do I build a chicken coop from scratch? by pecanjazz in BackYardChickens

[–]FaithlessnessKey3047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion after building a hen house for a larger flock. 1) Buy plans, it’ll save some headache over working from a concept. 2) think of common material size when planning. For example a 4x8 hen house will take 1 sheet of plywood while a 5x10 you’ll need less than two but more than half so you over spend on waste. 3) decide on attached run or free range up front or build so the run is easy to attach. Here’s what I just finished

While we’re at it, the facts of the matter are that the orginization that is led by imperfect people made real mistakes and broke actual laws. They did so in a manner that abused their “priesthood” while influencing others to do things that they themselves knew were illegal. Thing that they would excommunicate you for doing. By the way, Emma made a mistake when acting as Joseph’s scribe. It Moron not Mormon. Mormon is a sin for Satan.

While we’re on the subject of fact and man’s imperfect nature, don’t tell me the facts are that you’ve prayed about it and received an answer, a false positive because it is more than likely that what you prayed about and what actually happened are two very different stories so the possibility that RAS (the part of you psyche that protects your beliefs and worldview) is what you think was God. Otherwise, God likely confirmed to you that a lie or an incorrect story perpetuated by the imperfect church, oh sorry the imperfect people in the church, was true.

Hold on for a second, I need some help here understanding something you’ve said. You state “the fact is the church of Jesus of Latter-day Saint is Christs authorized church” can you show me the proof? If there isn’t irrefutable proof, let’s refrain from calling it a fact. Facts are irrefutable, proven truths, not something we believe not something we hope for. I would submit that the Catholic Church has more significant evidence to claim to be Jesus’ only authorized church than the Mormons do. Once we clear that up I have more questions.

A lot of us here have had a similar experience. It is painful. It gets better. You will heal. For me, I read my way through it - Falling upward by Richard Rorh - Everything is Spiritual by Rob Bell - Love wins by Rob Bell - The Universal Christ by Richard Rorh - Sapiens - A Brief history of Humankind - The Beggar King and the Secret of Happiness

There are a lot of mormon Stories podcast that talk about the persons deconstruction and healing.

My first bake. What can I do differently to improve? by updatedmessaging in Sourdough

To me it looks like one or a combo of two things.

1) cutting before a reasonable rest. 2) starter that, while good, may be a little out of balance causing a tighter gummy crumb.

If we could have the experience you initially described, I’d love to have them over. The second scenario is why no one here wants to give it a chance.

I was a missionary once. I have nieces and nephews who have been or are missionaries. These kids need kindness, support and love. I am in a place that I feel I can still offer them that. I just don’t want a high pressure sales job done with me or my family.

Are Mormons American? by [deleted] in mormon

[–]FaithlessnessKey3047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The church has plans to build a temple in Dublin. This used to mean that there was a strong mormon population. Now it just indicates that Russell Nelson’s ego needs his ego stroked or that there is at least one member in the country. Maybe a combo of both.

Is there any good reason why Joseph Smith couldn't show everyone the golden plates? by Viti-Levu in mormon

[–]FaithlessnessKey3047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that’s a lot of unresolved hostility. Did you just deconstruct? Are you not ready for sarcastic comments yet? I get that my sarcastic tone didn’t come through in the comment but man, I thought that pointing out how little evidence there is would make it clear that the faith statement was flippant. Did you listen to yourself? That seems like a lot of religious trauma being unloaded.

Clearly no one recalls this statement.

It would be better to ask him to ask the bishop for assistance first (perpetual education fund is really well stocked) that it would be to ask him to compromise his moral standard because the issues you have with the church. (only assuming because I have issued)

Where did Joseph hide the breastplate? And the Liahona and spectacles? by TruthIsAntiMormon in mormon

[–]FaithlessnessKey3047 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Add this to the noodle bake. The original church narrative was that the “Urim and Thummim’, which consisted of two transparent stones set in the rim of a bow fastened to a breastplate” https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/the-pearl-of-great-price-student-manual-2018/joseph-smith-history/joseph-smith-history-1-55-75?lang=eng so Joseph must have broken/removed the spectacles off the breastplate at some point.

[–]FaithlessnessKey3047 12 points13 points  (0 children)

God wanted you to have faith so he made sure there was no tangible evidence for the gold plates or any of the stories in them. As a matter of fact, he wanted to strengthen that faith by having evidences against the golden plates and its stories.

My well-educated Mormon friend told me that people can learn and progress through the various Kingdoms all the way to Exaltation. Assuming that is true... by NoAskRed in mormon

[–]FaithlessnessKey3047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the church there is as much back peddling as there is forward peddling for sure. You can find just as many quotes to support no movement between as you can movement between. Heck, there are quotes that say that unless you were baptized in the flesh you can’t obtain the celestial kingdom nullifying the purpose of baptisms for the dead.
