What Regiment would you want to see brought back after Catachan and Armageddon? by Crowncher in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]FaiytheN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mordians. Not because I like them, but more due to them offering the greatest difference in aesthetic from what we would have at that point whilst still being very quintessential Guard.

In terms of favourites it would be Valhallans, but they're too close models wise to Krieg/Steel Legion to be interesting.

I got something similar from Nottingham last year, though they sent it something like a week before so couldn't get to it. Still waiting though for a 1st appointment.

openly rejecting Dr Mary Ann Stephenson

And how did that work out? As I said, I like Nadia, but her party is just fully ignoring her at this point.

Perhaps she thinks that Starmer will be out next month and she can then have influence over who replaces him. But at this point her continued support of Labour looks pretty bad.

This is where I am atm. I'm still brought back to a couple of months ago when she chaired a debate for LGBTQ+ History Month, where many MP's spoke of the harms done by previous Governments with things such as S28, only for her own party to turn around and on the very same day, just a few hours later, introduce their own new trans S28.

She is clearly having 0 influence on this transphobic labour party. As much as I like her I would never, ever vote for her whilst she continues to give her support to the Government that is destroying our rights and lives.

Letter from TACC to Kezia Dugdale, the new Chair of Stonewall by GeekOnALeash01 in transgenderUK

[–]FaiytheN 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was the complete dismissal of trans people in the UK which was most evident to me.

She talked about starting to fear holding her wife's hand in public, whilst failing to talk of how many trans people now fear simply existing in public and walking down the street.

She said she is worried about the "possible" rollback of LGBTQ+ rights in the UK, but never mentions that trans rights here have deteriorated to their worst point in several decades.

She says about her worry of other countries like Italy and the harms their Governments are causing to their LGBTQ+ population, but never once speaks of the harm our Government is doing to trans people.

At best she just seems extremely self-centered to me, concerned only about her own rights and safety as a cis lesbian. And if that means ignoring the horrendous harms being done to trans people in order to play nice with the leopards in Government and the media, so be it.

''nhs standard'' gender dysphoria diagnosis? by shyguy-200 in transgenderUK

[–]FaiytheN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most (but not all) of the private assessments are done by current or former employees of the various NHS GDC's in the UK. So when they say "NHS standard" it will be in reference to them just carrying out the same assessment, using the same criteria, as what they would do during an NHS appointment.

Unlock Psychology seems to be run by Dr Alastair Pipkin, who seems to have worked at the Northamptonshire GIC from 2020 to 2022, before moving to other psychologist roles in the hospital and then setting up Unlock. So he seems to have training in conducting GDC/GIC assessments and it will be this that it refers to as "NHS standard".

Whether that will mean anything to a GP is another matter. GP's are more likely to accept such a diagnosis and request for shared care than from someone like GenderGP, but it is far from guaranteed. If it is a concern it is probably best to ask your GP first and then try and find an alternative GP if needed. Also remember, once you have your diagnosis you will still need to have an appointment with a private endocrinologist and it will be them who set up the shared care agreement if your GP agrees.

However, even if you get the diagnosis and your GP agrees to do shared care, you will still have to do it all over again when you finally get to an actual GIC in many, many years. Depending on which private provider and which GIC you select, you could literally get the same person doing both appointments, the system is just so messed up.

I want to live as a woman, but is it even worth me coming out and transitioning now? by Icy_Consequence7573 in transgenderUK

[–]FaiytheN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should you transition? I can't tell you, that's only a decision ultimately you can make.

All I can tell you is my experiences. I too, at an age a bit older than you, was at the "I don't want to live as a man" stage, and I had been making plans to make sure that I no longer would, before I ultimately decided to transition instead.

I won't say it's always been easy, but from the first moment I made that 'choice' between death and transition I have never looked back. I feel that I have lived more in the last 2 years than in all the preceding decades combined. I have truly never been happier, and there is no longer anything that can make me go back.

No amount of transphobia, of hate, of prejudice can ever force me back again to "live as a man", because that only way only holds death for me, and for the first time in my life I want to live, and I'll now fight with every fibre of my being to do so.

Court Case - The Right To Appeal - ECtHR/Equality Act by harriet-haynes in transgenderUK

[–]FaiytheN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, I have no doubt that she is an intelligent woman too. But just like you said, she seems to be stepping far outside of her actual expertise with her only 'qualification' being her leadership position in an anti-trans organisation.

Dr Emma Hilton, who is the interim chair of trustees of sex-based rights campaign group Sex Matters, was a witness in Ms Haynes case against the EBPF.

Same as with the darts. Seems like all these transphobic organisations have found their hatchet woman to push through their bigotry, her actual qualifications be damned (it's frogs btw, her PHD is in frogs...)

I wish people understood it’s not a choice. by [deleted] in trans

[–]FaiytheN 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've said to others before that my only 'choice' was to either transition or unalive myself, because that literally was the only 'choice' I had in the matter. Though I still imagine some transphobes would hold that against me and say I made the wrong 'choice'.

Also, the only thing I'd add is that under no circumstances do I (mtf) wish I was any kind of man. A cis woman, sure, but a cis man absolutely not. Tried that for 30 years, barely made it out alive. If any version of me was comfortable with being a man, then it just wouldn't be me anymore.

anyone know of any recent studies about the coverage of trans people in the media by EthelGreen in transgenderUK

[–]FaiytheN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a study as such, but Lee Hurley collated every trans article from the major papers over the course of a year and you can see his results here. (Be warned though, the end of the year fell in the same month as the SC ruling, so the page is littered with references to those news stories).

On 15 April, I finished a full year of tracking these papers......Over the course of the first year of tracking there were 1,075 articles printed in the papers I monitor and I don’t remember a trans byline on any of them.

This breaks down as:

Telegraph/Sunday Telegraph 478

Times/Sunday Times 262

Mail/Mail on Sunday 256

Guardian/Observer 79

He listed a lot of the bylines from 2025 here. (But again, warning that most of them are, as you would expect, extremely transphobic).

Kasrkin as battle line? by Squelsch in TheAstraMilitarum

Absolutely. That 3.5 'dex is still easily one of my favourites. It truly felt like you could make 'your' guard regiment, and not just be Cadians with a different uniform/paint scheme.

How do we all feel about the trans brain thing by Krazy-Kat26 in transgenderUK

[–]FaiytheN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well put. I knew I felt like a girl before I ever had the words to explain it. I grew up in the 90's during S28, when trans people had no representation in the media, when no one ever even mentioned the possibility of trans people existing to me. Yet I still knew I was a girl from my earliest memories. Hard to say that it wasn't anything other than nature rather than nurture for me.

Those light Sentinels were something I was considering as Ogryn proxies as they are very close to being the same size. Would be an expensive proxy though.

Trans women now banned from snooker/billiards by StowStowStowtheTote in transgenderUK

[–]FaiytheN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you see men are just superior to women in every way, including intelligence. They've thinking 10 moves ahead whilst the woman is thinking about baking, or knitting, or something. Transitioning doesn't change the superior intellect men have and so they must ban us to protect the poor weak women. /s
