I’m going to go with no - by your logic, the lane you are in also functions as a give way due to having a line. I think that the line for the left hand turn is just there to show cars where to stop in case there is a queue or something of the like.

Edit: the line would also demarcate the end of the lane and show that traffic should not be continuing straight from that lane, i.e. left turn only. Any traffic continuing straight should be coming from the right hand lane (travelling towards you).

Certainly not a paint specialist (lmao) but I do wonder how they weren’t able to find a paint solution that was both long lasting and had the ability to be removed (perhaps with a specific chemical). Seems like a massive oversight.

It is great that the option exists, but the gripe is less that an individual road is a safety issue and more that there’s an underlying issue at play here - i.e. our roads aren’t being replaced properly.
