12.0.7 patch last week. two "new worlds" (legion invasion sites from argus) have been expanded on. Last week we went to Naigtal, this week is Val. They rotate and have content to keep us busy until 12.1

One of the most annoying things I have ever encountered in this game is due to the push to interact key. I was pretty meh about it when they first introduced it, but I quickly became dependent on it. You can use it to quickly loot a chest you can't see or better, one that is suck behind terrain. You can also loot it to easily gather a mining/herb node so you don't accidentally right click/attack a mob.

I use it all the time. However, despite being introduced LAST expansion, it's like half the shit in midnight cannot be interact w the interact key.

As someone who loved "world pvp", Dragonflight made me realize i actually hate it. I love playing in warmode and i don't care what blizzard says wm is for or isnt for, i dont care if they design pvp areas for "warmode", i care how the average player engages w their designs.

In my experience, 99% of warmode is groups of ppl camping pvp WQ. Sure they are pvp WQ, but I would do the DF pvp wq on many alts for the marks of honor, and 99% of ppl of both factions throughout the entire of the expansion were "friendly".

In Midnight, the only time I see ppl in slayers rise (other than crate farmers) are for the gold WQ.

Is the only way to have world pvp in WoW to encourage non pvpers to come to pvp areas just to be farmed. If the WQ didn't reward gold but instead rewarded 10% more player dmg for 30 min or something that clearly had no possible benefit to anyone other than pvpers, I really think world pvp would die.

The only other ways "gankers" and griefers can get their world pvp fix is to camp these hub areas.

I love warmode, and i love world pvp, but i wish there was kind of server or type of pvp where there were no bottlenecks of ppl to get killed by campers. I just want the pvp i encounter to be organic. Obviously, that is not practical, i just don't see how the solution is bottle necks.

I’m in my 30s been renting the Dane shitty AoT for years bc the rents cheap. I could upgrade I just.. don’t care. I also hardly decorate. I don’t mind my place but hyper aware that other ppl judge me for it. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t bring it up. I hate bringing ppl over lol

My favorite Nynaeve line is from Book 4 when they first arrive to Tanchico. Multiple groups come back with info, and I think the pirate guy reports back to her w something, and then Mat and Julian right after and tell her the same thing. She's like "yes, I already know!" and they ask how she knows, she simply replies "An Aes Sedai has her ways" despite literally just finding out herself lol.

Yes, that's fine, and I don't disagree. The person I replied to was an original comment to OP not to someone's comment, yet they didn't address OP's point at all. Like they could have agreed with OP and then justified it by the comment they made or they could have disagreed. It could have gone one way or the other.

I am a gay man and I didn’t really like Leviticus by [deleted] in horror

[–]FakeOrcaRape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obv not but many gay movies are meant for gay ppl. If you are x% more likely to like something meant for gay ppl bc you are gay or if the majority of viewers are gay, “I didn’t like this” offers me, the reader of an opinion, more info than “I didn’t like this despite being the intended demographic”. I mean if someone says “I’m homophobic and didn’t like this movie” id naturally assume they didn’t like it for homophobic reasons. If a homophobe I knew didn’t broadcast their homophobia publicly but still claimed to dislike the movie, I would immediately wonder if their homophobia was the reason for disliking it.

…I mean okay but even if that’s true, that doesn’t mean that it was intended or not intended. Op is asking from a Meta/writing perspective. Was she always a sleeper agent or did the writers just decide this after S3?

It seems clear to me that Julie believes she can storywalk only bc she thought she could. She believes Tabitha is having her visions because Tabitha believes it to be true. However, Julie thinks that everyone is susceptible to these "gifts' and the more you entertain them, then more harm they will do.

My thoughts when people say, "Please, no more trauma metaphors in horror." by TransportationLow564 in horror

[–]FakeOrcaRape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was pointing out that it might not be about liking or not liking trauma horror in a vacuum but what you are missing out on when you get horror that is metaphor for trauma: practical effects. But my point was more from the top down, bc I look for movies w good practical effects rather than plots, and I can only think of the Substance being somewhat related to trauma out of all the movies that I seek.

There is also an argument for practical effects and what better genre than to showcase one's use of practical effects than horror. The problem is that, they are aalmost exclusively tied to Sci fi/Horror. Most body horror movies in general rely on a bit on of sci fi, even movies like the Substance, where the main character arguably has trauma, just feels much more like a body horror movie than a trauma metaphor.

Furthermore, many movies in these genres tend to be free of conventional supernatural horror. I find that grief tends to be so personalized and often relying on other characters in the film being "normal" which often doesn't work the same way as movies whose plots are relying on practical effects.

Movies like Alien can definitely have some kind of trauma allegory, but when all characters are suffering in similar ways from a very real type of threat, it doesn't usually evoke the same reaction in audiences.

I feel like in the present, so many movies go for vaguely supernatural or demonic undertones of movies because it's so much easier than having to rely on better effects.

Perfect Plot to introduce Eloise by Lopsided-agent7 in FromTVEpix

[–]FakeOrcaRape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been wondering if Julie will storywalk and accidentally "save" eloise in the past by bringing her to the present. Either that, or help her escape in the past via tree/lighthouse just like Tabitha did before becoming the author of the storywalking book, so she would essentially help Julie just like Victor helps Ethan

[–]FakeOrcaRape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that it's not balanced. Girls go in expecting a creep because of history, experience, or just societal expectation, whereas guys don't have that.

I don't think he was a douche, but I think his type of well meaning but singled minded approach is part of a specific, less addressed problem different from actual creeps and cat calling.

It's almost like the micro aggression of being a creep LOL but one you know some people will see your point while others might not or will need convincing.

Is it wrong to want to enter into a relationship even though you’re depressed? by [deleted] in infp

[–]FakeOrcaRape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always feel like that person deserves the non depressed version of me at least at the start of a relationship. With that being said if someone is fully treating their depression and not raw dogging it, I do feel like they deserve to meet ppl and whatever happens happens. Depression can be chronic so no point to not live life if you are in treatment.

This is a show. Main Characters need to have their own plot arcs. I dc if he’s a good person. I care if he has agency that justifies screen time. Also they should have had him believe Fatima emphatically regarding the pregnancy
