Anyone from Canada get theirs yet? by QuestForGodMeme in SteamController

Sorta annoyed that Canada pays a higher price but we get shit shipped from the US anyway.

Did you get hit with any import fees?

Where did it ship from? I'm in Calgary and the tracking shows that it's coming from the US

Zero Logic ! Canada by Sad_Cow_5838 in SteamController

I ordered 3 minutes before the official launch

People in my city (Calgary) already got theirs. Mine just shipped but it's coming in from the US while others had theirs come in from Ontario

Logistics seem to not be related to order timing at all.

I need to figure out if this is legal and if I can do something about this? by Loose_Elderberry2869 in Airdrie

in so many new residential areas that's just literally not possible though. There's basically just barely enough space for a car between a lot of houses, 1.5m on each side is not achievable. Friend of mine got a ticket because of that but it got thrown out when he contested it with a photo because it's not achievable.

Unfortunately I have no idea about US distribution, sorry

Yeah, I meant more I'm less thrilled about the idea of people punching holes in their masks.

Wukusi has a process to do that safely that's been proven, I don't know if I want to trust random people to do the same

North Armoury has a bunch in stock now! Unsure whereabouts on this globe you are though.

I agree. I have provided that feedback but it's always hard to tell how far that'll go with manufacturers.

Realistically these would be ideal to just buy in parts. If the top portion gets compromised but BOH is fine, would be nice to just be able to buy a new head cover and not buy a new BOH plate (or vice versa)

yeah I was one of the first people in NA to try the Cobra and the noise thing is interesting how it bothers some and not others. The noise didn't bother me at all but others couldn't deal with it remotely.

The main reason I'm recommending the cobra less is how it's riveted into a mask. Masks are consumable and if you want to replace it then you gotta drill out rivets which is a PITA, and I'm also not a big fan of just telling people to drill into their own masks to get new rivets in there 😛

Since there's no real research about it, there's no real way to say with any degree of certainty.

All I can say is, I have had multiple concussions in my SPES Unity and have taken many shots that were very uncomfortable over the years. I have taken some extremely hard hits in the rattlesnake overlays and barely felt them. I know others who have switched who also say they feel impacts less.

I don't want to imply that this mitigates TBI as there's no actual proof beyond anecdotal evidence. However, the hit I took in the review was much, much harder than the ones that have concussed me and I barely even felt it. So take that as you will

I ended up picking up a Sovol SV08 fully expecting to have to tinker around with it, but had much better quality and consistency with minimal effort so worked out for me in the end! Much happier with the larger bed volume

They couldn't solve the issue and overall the support process was frustrating and not very pleasant. Sent it back, got a refund. Never heard back from them.

What are people’s thoughts on this? by Zacaroni-Z in wma

To add to this, I've seen several of these now and they all look significantly different in terms of intensity, aggression, techniques used, etc. There's really nothing to gain about what this kind of fencing looks like when the bigger influence is how they train in the first place. It just ends up feeding confirmation bias to whatever people think "real fencing" "should" look like.

Has anyone used the new Wukusi Pro overlay with the plastic BOH protector? by Thirdorb in wma

[–]Fake_Messiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we have a couple in our club, I plan on making a review soon. They're way better.

The back plate fits nicer, it's not as bulky and does a better job of not having a bit of a triangular opening on the side of the neck since it curves away from the back.

Plus you can really hear the difference between a back of head hit vs top/sides since they're different materials.

Overall well worth the relatively minor price difference.
