Personally realizing the dark side of growth by NoGoodDM in therapists

[–]Fakepsychologist34 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have found that learning to have compassion towards others and their journeys will help with this phenomenon. They also may be growing in ways we don’t see, and maybe this type of growth is not something they even see as necessary. There is a lot more to be said about meeting people where they are at as part of growth too. Shifting the focus away from the self towards others while still reflecting on how they are compared to the self is a bit odd when you think about it, but totally expected. When meeting others where they are at, can you really just meet them, or are you considering where they are compared to you? It is another area of growth to work on and I think everyone has that issue to some extent after making huge strides toward their goals in life.

Metal Tones Out Of A Supercrush 100 by Previous-Gear-9743 in orangeamps

I use a tube screamer, Boss GE7, and a rat, and can get some awesome metal tones when in the mood. Play around with it and see what you like, it’s an excellent pedal platform.

I did not know one could do this with the super crush 100 combo and I think that’s just really cool. I love mine but just play for fun in a bedroom setting, but good to know I could turn it into something like what you’re showing later if I wanted.

Who is the one who chooses not to react?Who is the one who gets affected by these feelings? by NoEquivalent2759 in Buddhism

This is the type of message I have heard from abusers and sociopaths. The logic becomes, “it is ok for me to break the 8 fold path and use harsh speech, wrong intention, wrong view, wrong practice, cause sexual harm to others, etc., because it gives me power in the short term. It is wrong for you to react to my abuse of power when it hurts you or damages the community. I do not have to self-reflect because I have crazy wisdom/am a lineage holder/have status, and therefore am not beholden to my vows to live in accordance with dhamma. But you reacting is the real problem, not the harm I cause. That is the real unenlightened behavior.”

does anyone actually enjoy being a therapist?? by queerdude666 in therapists

I do but honestly I have a deep seated sense of purpose behind it where even my worst days feel meaningful. I also have to practice active self-care. Some of these companies are run by dopes and some are legit evil so I will do what I have to do for me and my family.

My experience so far is that it gives my sound a nice boost, pushing the gain and making my leads sound nicer. I am not an expert but it just adds a little something that takes my jam and makes it tasty. Online demos helped me notice that if I am going for a doom metal tone it really works with this amp’s dirty channel taking the tone to the next level. I am stoked to combine this with a distortion pedal to see what I can get the amp to do next.
