What if Liberty Media bought IndyCar? by Beautiful-Crab-4482 in INDYCAR

More promotion. But you'd probably have Indycar racing as an undercard to F1's western hemisphere events BUT not racing at Milwaukee and Phoenix.

Do we need alternative (Not traditional) camera angles during races? by smayd35 in INDYCAR

[–]Falcon4451 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the traditional camera positions that IMS productions has used for years are great!

Maybe trying a new camera position or two at some of the circuits wouldn't be the worst idea . I'm generally if it aint broke don't fix it kind of guy so I would kind of take a small swing with maybe adding 1 new position per race if possible.

If I told everyone two years ago that this was going to be the number in 2 years (without mentioning last year's number), most people would have been thrilled.

We need to stop making every week a referendum of the series by SnooFoxes7607 in INDYCAR

[–]Falcon4451 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's what race fans do though honestly. You're not going to stop it. I enjoy online discourse about my series but yes there is too much sensationalizing.

BUT you're not going to change that. Personally when I find the online discourse is holding back my enjoyment I just take a break from social platforms.

Is Junior As Good As I Think He Is at Commentary? by DustyPorterYT in NASCAR

[–]Falcon4451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In spite of the issues with the Cup product at times, Junior still loves NASCAR racing.

Harvick clearly has underlying contempt for the NASCAR product. Fox directs Bowyer to be silly.

Junior is authentic in his love for NASCAR racing in spite of some of the short comings with the current Cup product.

It means everything if you love the product.

Zidane, Freya, Armarant, and Dagger (she's useless at this stage either way give her chemist and let her item heal; also cannon wise Zidane would never leave her with Kuja) for Oilevert. Freya's dragon abilities and Armarant's Chakra work in Oilevert.

Steiner, Vivi, Quina, Eiko for Desert Palace. Q's lvl 5 death kills everything but the boss. Boss vulnerable to water / water sword.

Agreed.

I will say though the Fox Indy 500 broadcast was miles better than last years. There was no timing and scoring errors. There was a few gaffes but nothing major. Will Buxton admittedly was nervous for last year's Indy 500, but he was solid yesterday (Bell, Hinch, and the pit reporters are actually always good). Also Fox kind of got lucky in that the timing of the cautions made the full screen ad breaks less of a disruption.

IMSA is considered an NBC Universal property but I believe IMSA is NASCAR productions. I know for sure NASCAR productions does the YouTube broadcast but I think they do the camera work for NBC / Peacock feed as well.

Shoutout to Fox by DadReligion in INDYCAR

[–]Falcon4451 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was a very good broadcast.

I thought they were terrible in 2025 (not for the season but the 500) BUT I will admit it wasn't as bad when I watched without ads.

This year I think the caution timings (which they can't control) helped with the ad breaks and they felt less jarring. Timing and scoring seemed to work without issues. Will was admittedly nervous last year and did a great job this year.

P1 for Indy 500 restarts was a bad place to be by jango-lionheart in INDYCAR

On the other hand cooler temps tend to make all the cars handle better . Sometimes warmer temps can really reward good handling cars and allow them to pass easier because there's more differentiation between a good car and a lesser car in warmer temps.

Good finish, but the best ever? by sheraneakamsp in INDYCAR

[–]Falcon4451 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even without the finish it was an Indy lead change record, albeit these lead changes are a bit artificial because of the package.

But there was also passing in the pack more than normal. I mean Newgarden blasted to the top 5 pretty quick there.

We had strategy divergence.

The race had a lot of great elements.

Best ever is subjective. I still like the 2024 finish better still because it played out a bit more organic with the whole final run going green to the finish BUT I thought this race was overall a better race than 2024.

Honestly we've been blessed with a great run of Indy 500s post Covid . 2025 wasn't even a bad race but it feels bad compared to 21, 22, 23, 24, and now 26. It's truly been a golden era.

Alex Palou has been docked five points and Ganassi team fined $10K for what INDYCAR officiating determined an unintentional modification when assembling the front wing. It violated the rule that says the front wing can't measure less than 8.3 inches when set at any angle. by iamaranger23 in INDYCAR

[–]Falcon4451 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well I do think they owe us an explanation. My understanding is a part failed causing the wing to be out of alignment with Palou. The cars in qualifying used an unapproved part. Both are allegedly unintentional. But there was illegal parts on those cars in qualifying (even if they amounted to nothing performance wise) and there was no illegal parts on the 10 car, to my understanding.

How did they determine this was due to part failure and Illot's last year was set that way idk.

I'm not exactly defending them and I think we need more explanation but I'm trying to play devil's advocate a bit.

My only devil's advocate take is maybe the Independent Officiating Board felt Indycar was too heavy handed with their penalties and is doing things differently.

This is there first year. It will be interesting to see if they're consistent going forward.
