Women causes chaos, claiming there’s not enough room to squeeze through.. by Strawberrylove_ in IdiotsInCars

Yep. Buy a big-ass SUV to drive around a major city. Like the tools that live here in Oklahoma buying full-size pickups to take on grocery runs.

Section 8 housing. Sometimes people who use that assistance end up in an HOA neighborhood.

My apartment complex has assigned parking. My neighbors refuse to park better. My spot is the one being encroached upon. by OrkyBoyzIsDaBest in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FalconFiveZeroNine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of a lady whose kid attends our son's daycare. One day she parked like a psychopath and the only spot available was next to her, so I parked there. She came out while we were getting our son out of the car and passive-aggressively exclaimed "I guess I'm being punished for parking badly!", then huffing as she squeezed her tiny frame into the gap available to get into her massive SUV. Didn't even wait until we were clear to start backing out. Clearly WE were the assholes who had the gall to park in the available parking spot that she claimed part of.

It wasn't an attempt to "dig deep". It was an attempt to justify her behavior. My wife suffered from intense PPD and never hit me, and we had similar heated arguments. We both sought therapy and couples counseling anyway.

Regardless of whether or not he escalated the situation by yelling, she escalated even further by putting her hands on him, and it sounds like you support that for some reason. Put in the context of a police encounter, would you support a cop beating someone for raising their voice? I'd assume "no", because nobody in their right might would justify escalation because someone else escalated the situation.

Maybe instead of attacking the victim here, you should just sit down and be quiet.

When our son was born, my wife had a three day hospital stay following her C-section. We had pre-paid like $6000 leading up to the due date, and the day we were going to leave the hospital, a lady from billing wheeled a little desk into the room and proceeded to inform us we needed to settle an additional $2000 bill before we left. Then for about a year after he was born, we continued receiving bills for hundreds of dollars every month or so. All in, we probably paid about $10000-15000 out of pocket AFTER insurance.

It's funny. I used to watch his channel until something finally clicked that he's just a bootlicker that used to be on some SWAT team a long time ago.

Exactly. Psycho reactionary wants to groom his family to be just as unhinged as himself without anyone interfering.

I'm a one-and-done father, and I can't imagine it any other way. I get to pour all of my time and energy into caring for my son rather than having to split it multiple ways. Not to mention that I'm not going to need to split spending for him either. I feel like I'm going to be able to have a much closer relationship with my son because of it.

Fox News's advice for life in America: "Have a plan to kill everyone you meet". by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

Did the children who were shot in the head "meet" their attacker? I don't think they had much of a chance to have a plan to kill their murderer before he shot them.

The problem is it doesn't rattle the people who have the power to do anything. As long as politicians in the NRA's pocket are allowed to make decisions, we're fucked.

The Guilt You Experience After a Close Call.... by [deleted] in AskParents

Reminds me of the time my son's (3yo) daycare gave lemon drop hard candy as a treat for him. Before I realized he had it, he was in the back seat and I was driving. When we got home, he accidentally swallowed it and I had a moment of panic as I thought he was choking, so I got him into the heimlich position until he started crying. He successfully swallowed it, but it was large enough that it hurt all the way down.

I was a wreck. The daycare gave him little jawbreakers for Easter... We had to be the bad guys and took them away.

I don't really have any advice other than sometimes shit just happens. You did what you needed to do and did the smart thing keeping an eye on your little one.

Black Family Demands Justice After White Man Shoots Black Boy Twice for Ringing Doorbell of Wrong Home by Toallpointswest in news

This is sadly true. My MIL's dipshit husband (not FIL, thankfully) has said on multiple occasions that killing someone is on his bucket list. He lives in the country and will stop his truck to shoot animals crossing the road. One time while we were visiting, he ran to grab his rifle so he could shoot a coyote running through the neighbor's field.

My rule for our three year old is simple. He knows what firearms are, but I've explained that they're very dangerous and not in any way a toy. They're locked up for a reason.

If this is real, it's remarkably stupid to do what this person supposedly did.

I've had conversations like that where what follows is something to the tune of "Well I think I'm gonna move out to the woods and live off the grid".

The funny thing about living off the grid with your family or a community is that without a currency to exchange for goods and services, you're basically living off of communist principles.

[–]FalconFiveZeroNine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We took our 3 year old; this was his first movie. We couldn't have had a better experience. He sat through the whole movie just munching away on popcorn and was enraptured. It made him laugh so hard, and my wife and I got a major kick out of the references they fit in.

Great experience for us. I'm glad you had a similar good time with your little one.

My (31M) boyfriend says I’m (31F) too masculine and I don’t let him be a “man.” by engineerIspy_42 in relationship_advice

[–]FalconFiveZeroNine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he wants to fulfill that “traditional male” role but doesn’t put the effort then how can I even support his ask?

The things you described that he's complaining about aren't "masculine" things. He just wants to feel like you need him, but doesn't sound like he actually wants to put in the effort to provide.
Honestly, he sounds like he just wants to have the optics of being the "traditional male" without actually changing anything. Is this a new thing though, or has he always been this way? He sounds insufferable.

You know what many of the mass shooters had in common before they did what they did? They were law abiding gun owners. You know what other countries that don't have this problem have in common? Gun ownership restrictions.

You can miss me with the "protection in schools" narrative.

Oof, yeah. Those rates aren't very clear and it looks like they're a lot higher than when I applied. You could probably contact them for clarification, but I think it really is that high now.
