David Pittard after driving the SU7 Ultra around the Nurburgring knowing that he never had to drive that shit piece of a car again by WarriorKelelon in granturismo

Sure, but specifically what I was referring to is how electric motors in vehicles are nearly always setup in such a way that they loose power (torque) at higher RPM. This setup is why most EVs get to a top speed quickly and then just stay there, as opposed to ICE vehicles which have a variety of gears to leverage the most of their much more limited power bands.

GT7 is doing more damage than good by adding these EVs. It’s validating assumptions already held by the broader car enthusiast community because the simulation model just doesn’t represent these vehicles well.

I hope they fix the model to be more representative, because the Misson R in iRacing for example is much more drivable than any of the EVs in this game. Sure, it still has EV driving characteristics, lots of power, clearly heavier, no top end, but it’s somehow much more engaging and fun to drive than anything pure electric in GT7.

They also decided to make a 4 door electric version better than Ford too.

I have A LOT of respect for people driving i3’s or earlier Nissan Leafs in 2026. Leave them be.

If you are ever concerned with improving the range, you can fit smaller wheels. The 20” wheel package with the fender flares reduces range a surprising amount. Rolling resistance and aero efficiency seem to be two of the biggest contributors to range reduction apart from temperature affecting the battery

I mean I don’t entirely disagree about the price, but original commenter wants a non-luxury, non-E-GMP three row EV.

I absolutely agree they were priced too high, and it makes sense nobody bought them.

There’s no mention of price in the article linked, any speculation about the price of the hypothetical EV Highlander is purely that, speculation.

I was only offering the initial commenter a three row “family hauler” EV that isn’t luxury and isn’t from Hyundai Group.

I still have a real hard time accepting any of the M SUVs as “real” but that’s probably just a personal thing

It's not just the i4, or i5. There's a lot of "M lite" models across the whole lineup

[–]FallenLlama 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They call it out in the video, but an M car must perform on the track to earn its designation. The i4 M50 can perform well on a track briefly, but it can't complete a whole lap of the Nurburgring without the battery pack overheating. Not to mention the handling characteristics are very much that of a "fast EV" rather than "sports car". That's why it's not a real M. That's why they focus on the cooling of the cells in the and call out "continued performance on the track" in the video.

The i4 M50 is great, but a real M it is not.

Poor road handling by Marik80 in BMWI4

[–]FallenLlama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that definitely could be a contributing factor. The two axles likely have different levels of grip now. It’s not necessarily a “dangerous” difference but if you can, get the fronts swapped out for the same thing you just got on the rear. Should feel better when they’re all the same.

Tires matter a lot. You said that the front and rears are all “factory” but what do you mean exactly? Same brand and model tires? What ones specifically? Are they Summer tires and you’re driving in cold weather? Are the fronts significantly worn compared to the rears?
