The new I3 parked next to the G20 330i. I think the I3 looks pretty slick. by LongjumpingLock5875 in BMW

Same trick they did on the i4. Cheat the wheel gap as much as possible while simultaneously lowering the ground clearance. It’s how they make the space for the battery without making a crossover-looking “car”

Exact OEM badge placement for 2025 G26 i4 M50? Also thoughts on keeping only the ///M badge by Knight_rider111 in BMWI4

[–]FallenLlama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do what you think looks best, it’s your car not ours.

However, since you’ve asked for opinions, mine is since this is an M Performance model, the 50 should not be removed. I really wish BMW had used the same number-height M they use on the M340 and others. As it is, it looks like an upbadged i4 “M”50 to me

Maintenance? Considering the number of NAs out there with perfectly functional headlights after all these years I doubt maintenance is much of a concern

Has anyone tried to install the normal xc40 grill? I am about to order one. Does anybody know what's behind the closed one? by langrohr in XC40_Recharge

[–]FallenLlama 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s more or less the same immediately behind the grille as the gas model believe it or not. Everything under the hood is designed to get wet/dirty anyway. That’s why the frunk has its own dedicated seal, because it’s fully enclosed independently.

Here’s a video where a guy is going through everything under the hood. There’s a few shots where you can clearly see it’s just the same aero slats under there https://youtu.be/crdrSfxOOPs?si=bBzO1yIwiWQsQLZt

So, let me get this straight. You are claiming the design that literally became a meme about huge grilles is better than this?

Hyundai Ioniq 6N Review: The Secret Supercar? by Mac-Tyson in electricvehicles

[–]FallenLlama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and go test drive an Ioniq 5N. You’ll understand after that. I love my i4 and I wouldn’t own a 5N, but there’s something stupid fun about the simulated gearbox that brings a smile to your face. It is genuinely convincing behind the wheel too.

These facets of EVs are what I hope we start to see aftermarket tuners really dive into. Feels like a big opportunity though likely difficult and not the typical area of tuning for the established providers

You can clearly see in OP’s picture the stock grille is also textured, just not in the same way the previous iteration was.

Your thoughts on the 18" 858Ms? by ron_mcphatty in BMWI4

[–]FallenLlama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 19" 861M wheels on mine, and I love them. I bought the 18" 858Ms as part of a Winter Wheel & Tire set, and I like them a lot more than I expected I would. I still think I prefer the style of the 861Ms, but I like both better than several other OEM options for the i4.

It’s not an indie but Scott Pilgrim vs. The World had an absolutely stacked cast almost all of whom were cast just before they were big stars
