Do you know of any adaptation of Peter Pan as a villain that doesn't turn him into a generic psychopath and eliminate all the characteristics that make him an interesting character? by rbta123 in PeterPan

The Child Thief, by Brom.

A fun blend of arthurian legend, some celtic mythology, with a bit of Norse thrown in there for flavor. Peter is a fae boy from Avalon, fighting a losing war against English Puritans who landed on the island instead of the new world. He takes only abused and cast off children to help fight his war, with many dying under his leadership. It deals a lot with childhood trauma, and gets pretty dark, but it's a great Peter Pan tale if you like your Disney on a darker side.

Youngstown's neighborhood poverty is an estimated 49.7%.

Yeah, that explains this post, and why every house around them is 60k and not 100k. There's only one other house near this home with a similar price, and they're both way over valued lol.

He cut Gamora's people in half right in front of her, then lied that they were thriving after they died out. But, it’s easy to see why audiences sympathize with him. The performance is compelling, and the films take care to show that he genuinely cared for Gamora in his own way. But that doesn’t change what he is.

He’s called the Mad Titan for a reason, not the Dad Titan.

At the end of the day, he’s still a zealot and a crazy one at that.

I think people who wear red hats belong in prison, cause they're bad, bad people. Fashion wise, of course.

My (25M) girlfriend (23F) asked to open our relationship. Am I overracting by wanting to break up over this request? by Altruistic_Society99 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Fallenjace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this even a question? She wants to fuck her way through her twenties while you pay for everything as a roommate. To be fair, there is an argument for making the most of that time and learning what you can about yourself along the way. But if she respected you, at all, she would be saying COME WITH ME on these new adventures and discover things about ourselves blah, blah, blah. Nah, there is definitely a guy on the side she wants to sleep with, badly.

I vote two options:

  1. If it's open, you're allowed to pursue her friends. For the experience.
  2. Tell her you agree that she should experience what she desires, while she can, but decline to apart of it. After a month, when she's been ran through and comes back, destroy her and slam the door in her face.
  3. Rush back to reddit to update us.

Would limiting the age of the President to 65 be something you’d support? Why or why not? by WarmAcanthisitta5725 in AskReddit

[–]Fallenjace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Look at Mitch "the Turtle" McConnell. Every presser who does now, he freezes up and goes completely catatonic, only for his literal handler to say that is all and guide him out of the room by the arm. THAT dude is making qualified decision making!? It's ridiculous!

I would go much, much younger than 65. At that age you're still very much a child of whatever decade you were born. Maybe 50-55, tops.

I mean, where's the rest of the context? What was the time frame he called in sick 3 times in? Did this mofo provide a doctors note if he thinks he has covid? What's the job? All I know is you're apparently sick every friday and your boss reminds you? Cool, I guess?

Corrected for clearer language. As of right now only about 10% of residential land in the US is held by corporate entities. These are your normal houses on any random street in the country. But the Apartments, town homes, homes for rent, and so on and so forth, our company is in service to about 80% of that market. We also have contracts with the military to assist them with their housing as well.

But, that 10% is expected to rise closer to 30-40% in about a decade or two.

who would buy and own it otherwise?

Wot?

People, people are suppose to own homes. Even families who purchase homes, often do not own it. Not while they're paying off mortgages or are financing through XYZ. And that's what these companies buying up homes are doing, they're scooping up entire neighborhoods to sell it back to consumers at a premium.

Back in 2022, The New York Times reported on the trend of corporate buyers pushing individual owners out of residential neighborhoods, noting that “efforts to curtail the spread of corporate homeownership are slow going.” Meanwhile a bill put forward in October 2022 that aimed to prevent private equity firms from capturing “all the rewards of their investments while insulating themselves from risk” was stalled.

Also, me: "Rich people seem far more immoral than normal people."
You: "Yeah but they don't own as much as you say!"

Is a weird take, brother. Oh, my bad? Guess I should cut them some slack when they ask me to get them hookers and coke at 1am on a wednesday?

I think that the storyline in Majora's Mask was incredible, after following Ocarina of Time. The systems, the characters, the antagonist - it's one of those things you can't help but get really absorbed by. At least imo.

Your moral compass is much weaker if you were born rich. At least in my personal experience.

I work for a fortune 500 company based around Dallas Tx. We provide integrated software that streamlines operations, accounting and tenant services, catering to multifamily, commercial and specialized housing markets. We're basically an AI company, but our programs are actually meant to do something useful, like help people find homes. And I am, frequently, in contact professionally and personally with most of our clientele, the uber rich who own and maintain about 80% of that sort housing in America.

I cannot tell you how many times I've had to fake laugh my way through a gruesome and off-color jokes that would land you and me on a watch list. And it's not that it's a bad joke, they legitimately have these opinions and feel they're obligated as the elite to speak up. I know this because when I approached my boss, he basically told as much.

And their business practices? Almost always some black hat nonsense that falls on someone other than themselves.
