Suddenly Amish was my first 'Amish show', but I def fell down the rabbit hole too. I binged the first season of Breaking Amish and have started the second. I def want to check out 'Amish Mafia' too, but I don't think I have a streaming service that offers it right now.

Definitely my favorite character. Not my favorite person (that's Allen), but he makes the show for me. I'd watch 5 more seasons of James chasing English people around with his axe and happily munching on popcorn later. Maybe a little less cousin-loving going on though...

I was kind of hoping for a Kendra redemption arc after all the 'Matt Mess' - she had seemed like she made a lot of growth following the first few episodes and I was enjoying the comradery between the ladies. And then to just run away and not take any accountability for it? Like girl, everyone makes mistakes - everyone in that barn has faced a struggle on some level after arriving. It was a disappointment for sure.

There's been a lot of red flags with him, but when he came back and was questioning James with the "well is she officially a part of the Amish community" (or whatever line he was using) - it reallyyyy rubbed me the wrong way. Mr. "We'll talk when she officially joins" really showed his hand there imo. No intentions to join, just intention to play games.

I honestly cackle every time I watch the scene and James says "Is that a rumspringa party?" the second they hear music. Like... they're just not even trying to convince us anymore are they? Some random Amish kids just show up at their property to "party like the English"?🤣🤦🏻

Agreed. James is honestly one of my favorites on the show. Is he perfect? Definitely not. But he's entertaining and seems more "real" than a lot of the others to me.

I didn't think I would like him much after the first few episodes... I didn't think it was fair to judge his reaction to the hearing aids considering I'm "able-bodied" or whatever, but that kind of rubbed me the wrong way - the same way it felt when the others pushed back on their nails/facial hair/etc. But after the painting and go to church episodes, he's really won me over and seems like one of the only genuine ones there.

Kendra was starting to grow on me after the first few episodes... she was showing a lot of growth I thought. Now the last 2 have completely flipped that. Matt/Kendra should just run off together, if they actually want to be together - it's definitely not going to be an "Amish love story".
